I like Stephen Bowen a lot, but in all honesty, I thought I would have to participate in a bidding war for him. I'm sure your max was higher than $750k for Bowen.
Will anyone ever NOT cry when someone bids on their player with time left?? Some of u babies treat hours like minutes.. Please bid on my players I shouldn't have signed the bastards anyways. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
It's legal to bid on players with time remaining however it's just bad etiquette IMO to bid on player with a couple hrs remaining. There have been a ton and of this going on and the worst cases were from the Vikings and Bears. 7 and 15 min left you bid? Wow that's a ****ing douche move. Me, Gish, and Stitches had just but a couple of hours to go.
it sucks but you dont kbow why. if it is on purpose to screw its a douche move, butvif it is because someone came along and outbid their player so they had to get ther next option, that is part of game. happens in real nfl, team will swoop in w an offer at last min when a team thought their deal was done. has happened to me twices
It has happend to everyone and no one is doing it out of spite(id hope). I did a few recently only because I just created new capspace. Also id hardly call 10 hours left being just hours away
I hear ya, I have had it done to me 3 times I have done a couple times. Both times were because I got outbid on a player and by the time the bid occurred I had lost out on other players either cause they were signed or bid was higher than I would go so I found my next alternative. Just happened to me again where I was a day and half in and twice VO has come in and outbid me, yeah I am pissed, not because of timing but because o get him i have to bid higher which I am debating. See it isnt like ebay, they bid then you can still outbid.
a hex on your LIFE Eagles!! Ah man, I'm just messing. Can't take anything personally even if someone is trying to attack you that way. Lets all be bigger men (and women... cough) and walk away... just walk away... FROM MY PLAYER WHO I'M BIDDING ON!!
People just need to stop whining about being outbid, it doesn't matter when it happens, it happens. It's not a douche move it's a strategy. It's not like i'm going out there and doing it to every player. Yeah you have to deal with another 48 hour wait, but sometimes I wait to the last minute because I have to extend that bid window while I'm juggling ten other bids like everyone else. if I got 5-8 bids held up on players that leaves me 2 spots or so free, and let's face it I have more than 10 players I keep my eyes on, so what am I going to do? I'm going to extend the bid so I can best maximize the time to bid and get the players I want. Case in point I'm still interested in Ryan Kalil, but I want to get a few other players first and as I told VO, I'm going to see him in 45 hours and extend that bid period for him so I can acquire him when I have the time and resource and sign a lot of other players I want specifically before. It's a fact, I'm going to bid at the last minute on some players because i'm trying to get the best deal and make sure I get all the players I want. The only douche move is whining about it.
Anquan Boldin-Brandon LaFell-NateWashington-David Gettis-Mardy Gilyard Ed Dickson-Cornelius Ingram Kevin Kolb would be a very happy QB in real life.
Boy, I really hope nobody outbids me on Jermon Bushrod. Solid LT for only $3m... I mean that would bite. Only a couple more hours left...
The problem with your strategy, and the reason people are pissed at you, isn't because you're trying to better your team. That's understandable. It's because you're ****ing them over in the process. For instance, because I had a solid bid on Kalil that went untouched for 40+ hours, I let bids lapse on the other 2 center prospects that I was interested in. Why would I raise them? I don't need 3 centers. But they signed and now because of that, I'm now committed to Kalil. In other words you essentially eliminated all of my other options for me by ambushing me at the last minute. So now I'm scrambling - I either have to go with a ****ty option that I don't like or draft a guy that I didn't intend to. I just think it's shady that you go around at the 11th hour and put in minimum bids on players - some big, some not so big (did you really need Yamon Figurs?). Me personally I put my **** out there and once I'm done I'm done. That's why Kalil jumped from 7.25 to 10 mil - I don't need to waste 48 hours of my time - time I could be using to bid on other guys - tied to a guy you're just going to come in and min bid on tomorrow night. Sure it's within the confines of the rules, but it just comes across as being an *******.
I can't help it if my bids are tired up in some other players. I've employed the same strategy every year I've been in the GM League, so I don't know why the whining is so prominent this year, I say get over it and I already told another GM that I was going after Kalil. Sucks for you that we're going after the same guy, but I'm not going to bid more than I have to in order to sign him. Don't blame me for the other guys being signed either, I'm going to min bid, and if you want to push it up a few million then I'm going to go over my cap situation and then come back and see if I can fit him into my plans. Yes I did Yamon Figurs. I've got two WRs on my roster and could use another returner to protect Harvin and just in case he has to sit out with migraines.
I’m also curious exactly which version of Terrell Owens the teams bidding on him believe they’re going to get.
Not when the only way he can put up numbers is if he’s force fed. Didn’t work out so well for the Bengals or Bills.
Honestly his job is to be the best GM he can not befriend or tip toe around other GM's. It is sort of an unwritten rule amongst some but not everyone follows it. I have hesitated in the past but very reluctantly so, if he does that and YOU miss out on that player and other targets he basically is doing whatever it takes to win. Now. The downside to his strategy is our games are played on paper and victory will be determined by his peers, some people WILL hold this against him when the voting comes around....although they shouldnt and it should be about the body of work as a whole. Still what he is doing is within the rules and I dont have a problem with it.
GM JMH finally lets on why he like David Vobora
No but I sure could use a nice deep threat next to Wayne, Nicks and Cotchery. Good luck defending that with Watson at TE and Mike Bush in the backfield I dont have a problem with it unless someone has like 4-5 bids out at once and those were his only bids and all the bids came in that fashion. Then the person is just doing it to be a pain. That person shall remain nameless. Even though it wasnt done to me, it wasnt something I particularly cared to hear about. This is for fun. Lets ask the Cheatriots about Plax's hands. They looked pretty good catching that touchdown from Eli!
Braylon the next Miami Dolphin is a premadonna who plays his best when the lights are on. Well he is on a permanent platform in South beach where he will be performing in front of numerous celebs. He is a playmaker and a game changer and he WILL be in Aqua and Orange this year. He has agreed to give us his Driver Liscense and we have hired a personal driver for him aswell.
Reunited with Chad Henne. Interesting. But how will he get into night clubs without a drivers license? You gotta fight for your right to party.
Nightclubs?? He has embraced his new bff Danny Amendola, the two will be watching film and playing putt putt in their free time. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
