The Patriots would like to welcome the following group of freshly inked signees:

K Matt Prater $351,000 Solid young leg... very accurate the last two years, FG's made 30 out of 35. We save $1.4m against the cap by releasing the polish sausage leg, Stephen Gostkowski...

OLB Antwan Barnes $300,000 Former 4th round pick of the Ravens. He can bring the heat in the pass rush. Tallied four sacks in limited reps last season for the Chargers, who had acquired him late to fill a void in getting pressure on the quarterback. Good player for us to add to the rotation at the OLB spot.

QB Alex Smith $300,000 The former #1 overall pick takes quite the cut in salary from being taken so high. Signing for the minimum to revamp his career with the soon to be world champions. He will compete to be Tom Brady's backup with a couple of guys listed below whom you may have heard of. I expect Smith to beat them both out actually. He'll be a good fit for the Patriots spread em and flex em offense.

Mathias Kiwanuka $4,500,000 The marquee signing for us so far. Mathias is expected to convert to outside linebacker and to start opposite promising youngster Jermaine Cunningham. New DC Kevin Greene is said to be whooping it up and body slamming people against the walls with excitement. At 6.5 265, people are expecting monstrous things from the key acquisition as we attempt to upgrade our pass rush.

Tyler Thigpen $351,000 Tyler will compete for the backup role and is excited to be heading back to Chan Gailey's tutelage. Tyler enjoyed his finest season under Chan when he was the OC back in Kansas City. I'd put our three quarterbacks up against any in the league in terms of experience and ability.

Brett Favre $351,000 Oh and last but not least we went out and signed Favre to a min deal just in case he should feel the need to unretire yet again. We would love to have him should the situation arise. If not, no big deal, we can release him. A savvy Patriot like move if I do say so myself. And he's more than welcome to retire as a Patriot since he's always been a solid American who likes his jeans, five o clock shadow and showing his ***** via sext message. Giselle supposedly already changed her phone number.

FYI, conflicting reports on how serious Kiwanuka's neck injury was last season. He probably wont have to retire as originally thought but his long term prognosis is not great.

The other 4 are nice signings.

Chargers would like to welcome back the following players:
Craig "Buster" Davis, WR
Eric Young, OL
Jeromey Clary, RT
Scott Mruczkowski, OL
Kevin Barnett, ILB
Paul Oliver, DB
Nate Kaeding, K

Resigning Kevin Burnett (95 tackles, 80solo, 6 sacks, 2 INTs, 2 FFs, 1 FR, 1TD in 2009) and incumbent starter at RT Jeromey Clary were offseason priorities. Having them sign to such an agreeable price shows their commitment to the organization, and we can hopefully reward them by surrounding them with more talent.

We'd also like to welcome a hard working young man to our Powder Blue family-

The Cardinals are excited and proud to announce the signings of:

Sidney Rice, WR, $9,500,000
Paul Posluszny, LB, $4,000,000
Charlie Johnson, LT, 300k

We now feel we have gotten our #1WR, turned our front 7 into one of the best in football, and have started building a very solid offensive line to protect Matthew Stafford and open up running room for Ahmad Bradshaw.

Miami Dolphins ADD some nice new faces..

CB Eric Wright- The young one time "next big thing" at cornerback struggled last season in Cleveland, the real Browns still put a 2nd round tender on him for a reason. He still has a bright future. Eric will compete for a starting position but is expected to be the teams nickel CB.

OG Jacob Bell- The Miami Dolphins were excited to sign Bell at such a discount, he will be plugged into the staring LG spot along side Jake Long immediately.

WR Danny Amendola- The one player that was a must have for my football team, he had over 2,000 all purpose yards and 85 catches, going into FA I was ready to spend close to 3 million on him...I spent 700 thousand...he is a solid return man and Im very happy he is a Miami Dolphin.

WR Laurent Robinson- Love this guys pure ability but he really has issues with his health..we will gamble with him this season.

QB Brian Brohm- A talented guy who may benefit from the change of venue, Brian is a great game manager and will push Chad Henne for the starting QB position.

RB Mike Tolbert- I feel like I stole the bowling ball "thunder" back who had 11 TD's last season, he will compliment Chris Johnson very well imo...oh yea and 3rd and 3??? Were lining up and running Tolbert behind Long, Bell and Polite, and thank you for the 1st down.

LB Tully Banta-Cain- With 15 sacks the past 2 years adds some real nice depth and I like him on my football team.

The Cleveland Browns announce the acquisition of the following players:

CB Josh Wilson - One of the top CBs in the NFL over the last two years, Josh Wilson gets no notice from the media, but plenty of attention from opposing offensive coordinators. The Browns had to win a bidding war for his services, but believe him to be worth every penny. His addition to the team bolsters Cleveland’s pass defense significantly. Wilson will play RCB.

FS Gerald Sensabaugh - A free agent from Dallas, Sensabaugh has accepted a backup role behind elite free safety Quintin Mikell. Like Josh Wilson, he’s played well in the 3-4 defense. His transition from starting SS to backup FS should be simple and easy. Sensabaugh will also act as the third coverage safety in specific packages.

FB Ovie Mughelli - A Pro Bowl fullback, Mughelli has spent the last three years leading the way for Michael Turner in the Atlanta Falcons’ rushing attack. The Browns are committed to using a fullback in the rushing game, and Mughelli is the best available. He also has demonstrated talent as a checkdown receiver, having caught a touchdown each of the last two seasons. Mughelli returns to the AFC North after four years of absence, having left Baltimore in 2006 to sign with the Falcons in 2007.

K Lawrence Tynes - Arriving in Cleveland from the Meadowlands, Tynes has demonstrated throughout his career an ability to deliver accurate kicks in critical cold weather games. His overtime field goal in the 2007 NFC Championship Game, one of the coldest games ever at Lambeau Field, sent the Giants to the Super Bowl. Another Tynes field goal proved the margin of difference in Super Bowl XLII. The Browns needed a kicker with big game experience, and are proud to have Tynes on the roster.

The Broncos would like to welcome back Kevin Vickerson to the team. Vickerson showed a lot of promise in Denver's 3-4 defense last year as a defense end compiling 42 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and an interception in 2010 while starting 12 games. However he will move back to his more natural position of defense tackle. He will look to rotate snaps with the likes of Glenn Dorsey and Barry Cofield in Denver's new 4-3 defense. The Denver defense is slowly evolving into something special.

The Broncos would also like to welcome Seneca Wallace. Wallace has been regarded as one of the best back-up quarterbacks in the league and his veteran experience should aid Tim Tebow tremendously.

Both were signed for minimum contracts.

The Kansas City Chiefs have quietly signed a couple of key veteran players early in the free agency period.

• Matt Leinart - QB ($300,000) - Leinart comes over to Kansas City after spending a year in Houston. He's already familiar with our offensive system, having spent 4 years with Todd Haley in Arizona. Ironically he will be coming to Kansas City to back up his college backup, Matt Cassel.
• James Casey - TE ($475,000) - A versatile player, James "Thor" Casey gives us more options in the passing game when we go to 2 TE sets. He has some experience as an x-factor, something we will explore in preseason.
• Ryan O'Callaghan - OL ($300,000) - A mammoth (6'7, 330 lbs) right tackle, O'Callaghan returns to the Chiefs, where he has spent the last 2 years. He will be the primary backup for the recently acquired Anthony Davis.
• Kirk Morrison - LB ($750,000) - Morrison is a very underrated player, both in run support and in pass coverage. The plan for now is to pair him alongside Derrick Johnson in the Chiefs 3-4 defense.
The Chiefs were also pleased to renegotiate the contracts of the recently acquired Justin Bannan and Shaun Rogers, which should help free up additional resources for the free agency period.

The New York Giants would like to announce the additions of two ex Ravens to their roster; Dominique Foxworth and Tom Zibowski. Foxworth has been a good corner in the NFL before and looks to rebound after missing 2010 with a serious knee injury. In the past he has given up a low catch % on passes thrown his way and overall is a good cover man who can play the slot or on the outside. Zibowski will lend valuable depth as a special teamer and reserve though he has starting potential as a strong safety should anything happen to Kenny Phllips. Our scouts at Pro Football Focus rated him 25th out of the top 85 safeties last year who played at least 25% of their teams snaps. Both were cost effective moves at just 400k (Foxworth) 600k (Zibowski)

The Cleveland Browns are pleased to announce two acquisitions this morning:

RB Pierre Thomas - The man who makes New Orleans’ rushing attack happen, Thomas is a versatile asset out of the backfield. A jack of all trades, Thomas is an excellent rusher, a dependable receiver, and a capable blocker. Thomas added a dimension to the Saints’ offense that they will surely miss. While Thomas sat out most of 2010 with an injury, he was activated near the end of the season, and the organization is confident that he’ll be every bit the capable player in 2011 that he’s been throughout his career. Thomas and the already-acquired Willis McGahee will split duties, with Thomas receiving the larger workload of the two.

WR/KR/PR Michael Spurlock - A free agent from Tampa Bay, Spurlock fills several immediate needs. In 2010, Spurlock averaged 25.7 yards per kick return, scored a kick return touchdown against the Falcons, and scored one punt return touchdown against the Saints.

Spurlock also made Buccaneers history in 2007 against the Falcons, becoming the first player in team history to score a touchdown on any type of return.

He also caught 17 passes for 250 yards and 2 TDs, qualifying him as a capable fourth receiver.

The Broncos would like to welcome veteran quarterback Charlie Batch to the team. Batch will look to aid the development of Tim Tebow while serving as the teams 3rd quarterback. They would also like to welcome All-Pro kicker Adam Vinatieri to the team. With the departure of Matt Prater, the Broncos are happy to bring the clutch kicker. Vinatieri managed to make 92.9% of his field goals attempts in 2010 while making all extra point attempts.
