if our fo is able to win our second rounder back what duo would you prefer ingram at 15 and ponder later second or third or another duo mallet at 15 and royster or todman later ? Jmo but i prefer the first duo.
Well Ponder is being talked about as a late first rounder, so you're banking on him sliding.... same would be the case for Kaepernick. In either case, I'd like Mallet-Stocker-Vereen
I wouldn't like any duo that included Mallett or Locker. They are the typical QBs that go on to be busts in the NFL. I like both Kaepernick and Ponder although Ponder's injury history worries me. I know people are speculating that he has moved into the first, but I don't believe it. I'm sure there are a few teams that have Ponder rated as the third best QB prospect, but I think the buzz will die down by draft time and both Ponder and Kaepernick will be available after the first. I expect that at least one if not both will make it the third.
I have been running some possibilities through my sick head and I think I might like the combo of Jon Baldwin-Daniel Thomas-Shane Vereen-T.J. Yates(late rounder). This is only if we trade down in order to pick up a second round pick. Otherwise, Daniel Thomas is out of the question.
we need 1 qb and imo 2 young rb and imo we need maximun abilities security in our picks so it s why i pick ingram and ponder and why not cooper in 6 or 7 ?
Based on what? He has a similar build and put up similar stats to Ingram (and he runs .1 faster 40) Looks good to me.
he said 2 Pod....slippin in 4 players, thats messed up man... Ingram..CKap..Little...MCcarthy..Havili..Ty Taylor... Take that..
because you can have Ingram, Leshoure, or Williams and not really lose anything .... to me it just depends on how the round unfolds as to whom we pick in rd 1, and whether we stand pat or trade down once or twice ... i am with DJ in that IF we pick a QB, i do want CKap ... (or Dalton as a fall back plan - later). Unless someone falls UNEXPECTEDLY - such as Green, Jones, or Miller; then you trade down at least once knowing that at a MAX - 1 RB will get selected by either NE or NO. My guess is that NE will wait until thier 2d 1st RD pick to take a RB (if they take one at all). Honestly, i'd trade down up to 3 times into very early 2d round to get 2X 2d round picks and 2 X3d rd picks (and some later round picks) ... but to me the questions are: - i know some like Little, but where does our 'speed' guy come if RB, QB are rds 1 & 2. I know Boom and crew have some 'sleepers' for later rds ... - what is the solution to our OL, with questions at RT, G & C .... is Carey healthy, is Garner healthy and does he stay, is Jerry capable ... i really do believe a guy like Pouncey is verly likely as a late 1st rd pick (before PIT) by us based on this, and go RB later in rds 2/3. that's why at the end of the day - i think our 1st 3 picks will be OL, RB, WR ... IF we trade down.
so many needs on offense & so much pressure put on to present staff to produce immediate results never been good @ the draft, but this one coming up could yield anything nothing would surprise or disappoint me what bothers me is that I suspect they go into the draft in 2011 survival mode & may not ultimately serve our best long-term interest
What, in your opinion, is "survival mode"? Would that be trading up and pouring all of our resources into the biggest name (and boom/bust) Cam Newton?
Well, the 4 guys I picked all would contribute day #1 Deej: Ingram=starting Running Back Reid=nickel passrusher DJ Williams=#2 Te O'Dowd=starting Center Sparano and Irish do not have time to watch the grass grow with CK or McCarthy.
I don't care about whether Ireland/Sparano have time to let a QB develop. I care about what's best for the franchise long term. And with a guy like Ingram and a good defense that might be enough for Ireland/Sparano to have time to develop a QB anyways. No matter who we draft at QB, odds are that they'll be on the bench anyways. Our QB production next year will most likely come from Henne or a vet. With enough of a supporting cast and a better OC it is not a stretch to think that Henne could be that mid 80s rated QB he was in the middle of last year before Hartline went down. That level of QB production coupled with a better running game and an improving defense would probably get us into the playoffs and that would be sufficient to keep the FO in place.
id like to trade down and draft ryan williams and ponder in #2, and sign deangelo williams in FA to mentor and split time with ryan.......id be pumped!
would be ok with ponder but i prefer leshoure than williams and i will be all to add cooper in later round in that case the draft would have filled qb and rb for next 7 or 8 years
