Just wanted to say happy Opening Day to all today! Obviously the Dolphins come first for me, but the Reds are a close 2nd. It's like a mini-holiday in Cincinnati on Opening Day, and expectations for the Reds haven't been this high since I was in 5th grade. Here's to hoping your team has a good season...just not quite as good as my Reds. Cheers!
Marlins could be dangerous this year. Opening day is awesome - it's just too bad MLB has ruined the tradition of the Reds always having the first game of the year. We're not even the first N.L. game this year... Think I did just hear a fighter jet fly over my house on the way downtown though. Needless to say I took the day off work!
Mehh I hate opening day, especially up here, a bunch of rainouts the first month..... But never the less good luck to all........
Happy Opening Day from four hours north up I-71. My Cleveland Indians kick off tomorrow - and there is snow on the ground here. I am excited - this is my 6th straight opening day (and possibly my second snowpening day.) Have to brag for a second - my buddies and I have a Home Opener tradition of getting up at 9am, cracking beers and watching (read as: quoting) the movie Major League before heading down to the game. And more drinking. Also, on Saturday I'll be sitting in the Cleveland Indians Social Media Suite - a really cool thing they did here last year and moved into a suite this year. For the crappy product they put on the field they are doing some incredible things with social media and with their stadium (turned the field into a giant snow-tubing ramp and ice skating rink this winter with fake snow and everything). They've mastered the marketing, now there is only one thing left to do...win the whole ****ing thing. (Couldn't resist ONE Major League quote).
Wow, that's really close to mine. New York Mets Countdown to elimination from Playoff contention. Last year it was Operation Suckfest 2010.
Baseball? Who watches baseball? I kid, I kid, openning day of a sport one loves is a beatefull thing. Happy Openning Day to those who watch it.
Nice pitching duel to end the opening day festivities. Kershaw was dealing early. He had 8 k's through 4 innings. and ended with 7 innings pitches, 9 strikeouts and zero runs allowed. 4 hits, although only two got out of the infield. Fantastic opening day for the 23 year old lefty.
Chipper "The Met Killer" Jones starts off with a double and scores 2011's first run...... Braves win, Braves win.... 2-0 over the Nationals.
Followed by an Opening Day *** kicking.....awesome LA just awesome..... http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/news/story?id=6280485
