Lost three years of his life after being arrested on murder charges he was later acquitted of http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/05/sports/ncaafootball/05montana.html?_r=1
They were just discussing him on ESPN but I only caught part of it; seems he was in legal trouble but Montana stood by him when he petitioned the NCAA for a 6th year of eligibility. Has a rep as a hard hitter.

How old is he? I swear Miami loves itself some old *** rookies. From John Beck, to Yeremiah Bell, to Wilson and Gates from this draft.
He was arrested in 2007 for killing his aunt's boyfriend. After one trial ended with a hung jury, with all but one juror finding Wilson not guilty, a second jury acquitted him on July 9, 2009. Instead of returning to college, Wilson worked construction for a year with his uncle. In the meantime, the five-year period the N.C.A.A. gives athletes to complete four seasons in a sport had expired. Last May, in light of Wilson’s acquittal and after Montana’s new head coach, Robin Pflugrad, visited Wilson and his family, university officials successfully petitioned the NCAA to extend the deadline to allow him to play his senior season. Wilson worked his way into a starting role from the third string, he finished the season honorable mention all-Big Sky. In August, a woman accused Wilson of biting her leg while they were in a car with friends after a night out. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, reduced from misdemeanor assault. He was suspended for a game.
Espn said that he went to an aunts aid when she called his grandmothers house for help that her boy friend was getting very violent. When he arrived at the house to get his aunt and two kids out of the house the boyfriend had a shotgun and in the struggle the gun went off resulting in Wilson's aunts boyfriend being killed.

good, now all the bases are covered. excellent draft! wonder how they'll use our new Ray Lewis? @ SS or beef him up & play him @ ILB?
I really like this pick. Big hitter, physical, aggressive, chip on his shoulder. This guy could make us happy we took him. ProBowl special teamer right here. I'm guessing he's our future head-hunting gunner who causes more than his share of TV time outs.
He'll definitely get a shot That pick was a real shot in the dark He's a high caliber player Ireland sure did a good job reloading the roster He'll make the squad as a gunner Seriously though, good for him, defending the women and children...
A slightly better version from the NY Times... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/05/sports/ncaafootball/05montana.html
Right but I could swear one article said they never found the gun so that to me says beware of this dude. I'm willing to bet that no one ever makes a move on his Girlfriend.
Sounds like a stand-up guy. That said, dude's kinda old. First the 25-year old WR and now a 25-year old DB. I never thought a team could actually get OLDER through the draft. Oh well.
Reading the article its obvious he was guilty as hell, he got off on a technicality...then biting a chicks leg? Cecil Collins volume.2
Didn't seem obvious to me. He goes over to his aunts house. Her drunken abusive boyfriend emerges from the garage with a gun. They struggle. The gun goes off. The drunken abusive boyfriend dies. Sounds like BF got what deserved.
yup.... I would've accidentally killed the f***er too. Just sayin. They should've given Wilson a plaque or something.
Got off on a technicality? Obviously guilty? 23 of 24 people found him innocent. And spending 25 months in jail after failing to be convicted of the same crime on two separate occasions is hardly getting off.
I would 100 percent agree but one article I read said the gun was never found. If it was her boyfriends gun then producing it might have swayed the lone juror in the first trial to vote not guilty as well. If the boyfriend did beat her then urinate on her he surely got what was coming to him when he confronts her nephew with any sort of violence but without a weapon, it could have been somewhat premeditated if Wilson brought a piece.
