Goodness, Haynos was waived prior to the lockout Bro, we are down to Epps/Mastrud/Shuler competing for the #2 or #3 slot. I like Shuler out of that group, they think Epps can compete with Clay, and Mastrud had Haynos's size but was even more under developed physically.
Running Backs, Oline, maybe ST guys but who knows on that one? Add Sproles and Shaw our ST is far more competitive, add a G to take the worry out of the Oline.
Both nfl.com and miamidolphins.com list Haynos on the roster. The latter was recently updated because all the IR'd players from last season are now back on the roster. I thought he was waived injured last yr and when no team claimed him he went onto our IR.
I know, the injury was still a question. IF he's OK, I like him more than the others, which is not saying much of anything.

My guess is that we target Sproles, a QB like Matt Flynn, a LB and interior OL. Failing to address the TE position in that TE rich draft a year ago may continue to haunt us if Clay isn't the answer.
Mike McCarthy is seen as a developer of Qb's and Flynn has looked good in a couple of starts, he is sort of the poor man's Kevin Kolb.
Sproles durability gives him the edge over Deangelo Williams and Ahmad Bradshaw imho, he is a better player then Leon Washington and just offers more options on ST and Offense. LB is a mystery, could see say..Manny Lawson being added, or no one at all.
You mean 1 start, 497 yards, 3 TD's, 3 INT's. Let's not mix words here, people like Matt Flynn because of that Patriots game last year. He also played with the guys who won the Super Bowl. Not to say he can't be good. Just saying he hasn't proven anything. A lot of it had to do with the fact that at that point in the season, the Patriots were already crowned champs.
He was horrible in one, a 7-3 loss to Detroit, and VG in his loss to the Pats, 3 tds, 3 picks, and 7 sacks. If we're going by one game shouldn't we be looking to trade for that kid on Da Bears who took over for Cutler? At least that was a playoff game.
I like Scaife. Always have. Its more than just those two games mate. Some like him going back to college.
Whoever liked him, it wasn't those making draft decisions. There were 208 players picked before him. If McCarthy has made him into a good starting NFL QB, it would be better than that water to wine deal.

Just guessing, but likely as many or more who care that some liked him going back to college three years ago. One very bad and one very good game has little or no relevance in his development to me. The Pats about as much to study on Flynn as they did on the Wild Cat. JMO
How much money will we have to spend if there is a salary cap? I couldn't see it being that much tbh. Right now, I'm hoping for either Sproles or DeAngelo + an UDFA COP back like Grigsby or Devine.
I'm fine with Fasano, Clay and Shuler at TE. If there was an obvious TE free agent, then by all means target him. but since there isn't, spend the money elsewhere. Like Padre said Sproles + Guard depth would be my top two choices.
It is also logical that a premium will be placed on durability over just raw talent, Smiley was wildly talented but if he cannot play then he did no good. Wonder if Pork Chop Womack would be on the radar after playing under Daboll in Cleveland?
Since both sites have him and the team site seems otherwise accurate, I'm going to presume we got Haynos until I see proof otherwise.

Charles Clay is way more fullback than tight end. His skill-set overlaps with a tight end, and they might work him in that direction, but he hasn't done it much in college. He's said in interviews he's done it before, but I haven't seen him either line up in a 3-point stance, or on the line of scrimmage. I haven't seen him block in-line, or release with a guy jamming him off the line, etc. It's also worth mentioning he was a 6th round pick, we probably shouldn't be pinning the weight of the world on his shoulders. I think the Dolphins should be in the market for a tight end still. In the case of a less-restricted labor market, I think a guy like Kevin Boss or Zach Miller would be nice but you're making a big commitment to running 2-TE sets. I think it's probably more realistic they try to develop Clay into being a more seam-challenging guy, and find a cheaper blocking TE as a #2 for Fasano. I'd like for them to bring Joey Haynos back if anything.

Well Lewis was franchised, I though so barring a fundamental change to the FA process he probably is. But as far as Miller goes word on the street is that the NFL will operate under less restrictive rules than the 2010 ones, so he'll probably be an unrestricted free agent.
