Perez killed off half of the Golden Age Heroes in Crisis on Infinite Earths..who is next to fall under the ax.. ?
I understand that DC must be desperate to resort to starting over the numbering on practically all of their universe. But it seems odd to me nonetheless...like seeing a train wreck coming but being unable to do anything about it. After all, these characters aren't newer, like a lot of Marvel's universe; these are characters with a history so inextricably entwined with our culture that they permeate everything from legend to language, and even to our core philosophy of decency and integrity. Action just celebrated its 900th issue; now DC is going to turn its back on the looming accomplishment of being the first comic book to reach one thousand issues?! As for killing off characters, I would imagine that Jimmy Olsen would be at the top of the list, if he's even still around.
What a crock to reset it now before 1,000. One of my goals was to live to see Action Comics 1,000. I guess I can go jump off a cliff now.
Well Nabo,IDK enough about the current comic book industry to say one way or another what DC should do, I don't think this is a good idea, but then again, I don't know who DC's readership demo "is". Marvel's success with films has changed the game so to speak, DC has the Batman property and Superman and that is about it afaik. Then again I didn't like it when the 80's version of Swamp Thing was cancelled.
Yeah, I don't know either. Last comic I bought was in the '80s; Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, the Deadman revival. I'm completely disconnected from the current comics scene.
Oh, and Dinosaurs for Hire. If you want to laugh, look that up. I have the entire short-lived series. Dinosaurs in business suits—packing tactical weapons. Yeah.
Never was a big DC fan and don't follow any comics now. They are smart enough that they will be offering their comics on line & discounted after a month.
Well, I occasionally will buy an X-Men comic to fill in a run I have from #101-#250 as for the current books, have not messed with them for yrs, at least since the Onslaught Series in the mid 90's.01
It's a good thing that I don't read comics anymore. What they've done would have sent me to be committed.
