You care enough to call LBJ a "queen" and a "Bum".

Does it excite you personally to lob insults at somebody you don;t know and will probably never know?

    AH NO.

It will only get worse as the Heat get better. The hate causes a opposite and counter reaction.

"Class" when the Heat win will not be what comes to mind for most Heat fans.

No i completely get that. Personally I look at it this way, this is a board that is about the phins, which we all love. I wish that b-ball wouldn't be so devisive, it is though. I hope we can all just let it go. The Heat lost, they will surely win a few. There was some grandiose statements about the Heat, which would be expected considering many fans of the Phins are expectedly fans of the Heat, so whomever is not a fan of the Heat should just take refuge in the fact that the Heat didn't win and move on, their team lost also. I saw no Mav fans here.

Agree and disagree, the situation isnt the same New England was dominating every freaking team in football that year except the Super Bowl, running scores up.....the Heat didnt dominate every team this year...there wasnt one fan in America besides Giant fans that thought they werent winning the SB...It was split this year in the Finals with the Heat/Mavs...more for the Heat but there was a division....

I was so scared to watch that game living up here in RI, with the impending hate, and torment from Pats fan, and how I would react (most likely violently) that I didnt even go to the parties, I shut off my phone and I didnt watch the game, and I am as about a nutty with sports as anybody on this board....

Hell no BS, I got calls, and texts from Celts fans, telling me how the Heat are chokers, and gag on it like the Dolphins do...and I dont even like the Heat!!

dude hate is hate, fans of teams will look for any reason to bag the other team especially when they are on top...

Another quick point on this - I'm hoping the Heat players learned a thing or two after the series. DWade and especially Bosh were extremely classy in their post-game comments regarding the Mavs. I've never liked Bosh, but he handled himself like a grown up in that news room in his comments about the game.

It is incidents like the fake cough* thing - which came two weeks after LeBron made sure everyone knew he had a head cold - that make it hard to show class towards the Heat. The players themselves showed very little class, so why would they expect it from the lowest common denominator of fans?

*I don't buy that they were doing it just for the media and Dirk was just a casualty of their media war. That is a BS excuse.

LBJ didn't let anyone know he had a head cold, nor did he flaunt it. He obviously sounded congested and Ira Winderman asked him if he was sick. He answered the question and then never mentioned it again.

Dirk on the other hand, made sure that he held up his bandaged finger at all times during his p.c.'s and then he sat with the towels over his head like some kind of invalid. It was comical. Dirk seems to be a nice guy, but to suggest that he didn't play up his injuries/illness is silly.

It's amazing how super critical you are of Dirk but you can't exhibit the same for LeBron, who was a disgrace at the press confernce after the game chiding his "haters" out like he did, hell did he even congratulate the Mavs?

I didn't realize I was being super critical of Dirk. I only pointed out that he flaunted his injury.

And I can be critical of LeBron and have been, but not for his press conference. I don't know if he congratulated the Mavs (I know he gave them credit) but he wasn't asked about that. He was only asked about himself. Whether he choked, whether he let his team down, whether it bothered him that people hate him and were happy to see him lose.

I saw nothing wrong with his comments for the haters. They were spot on. I'm sure you've seen alot of the stuff written about LBJ in the media and said about him by fans/regular people. At the end of the day, if they take pelasure in his losing, rather than their team winning then it says more about their sad empty lives than it does LBJ. And he was right, whatever momentary pleasure they got from the Heat losing will go away very quickly and everyone will have to move on to something else.

You said he was comical, that's pretty harsh.

I don't see how he was right, some of you guys act like he doesn't bring this crap on to himself, but he sadly does, and this taking shots at the common man was a disaster of PR attempt, even for arguements sake he is right, you DON'T SAY IT. You act above it and take the high road, you don't come across as a spoiled brat who skin is thinner than paper. It's PR 101 and he needs help in this area because his arrogance is killing his image.

And I have yet to see any Heat posters be critical of LeBron, in fact I see more defending him and his act than is necessary, he is one hellva basketball player and there is no doubt in my mind he will have his moment in the sun and get the last laugh at his haters, but in the mean time he really needs to grow the **** up and get some humilty.

I agree with no one commenting on LeBron - he is the best basketball player in the world, but is nearly everyone outside of Miami sees him as egotistical and a prick (even moreso than most other players).

Of course, I spent the last 7 years doing that in Cleveland, so I don't have much room to talk.

I can understand some of their defensiveness over him because unfortunately they have been catching unfairly crap for him signing down here, and since I understand it because I have been there myself I mostly ignore it, but when they start taking shots at another teams star who never moans about his injuries, I can't sit there and be quiet.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Hard to imagine they'll get an injured Rondo, Rose and Dirk again in the playoffs. Plus with the new CBA likely including a hard cap I wonder if it will hinder their ability to get more role players.

Also be interesting to see if this loss forces them to play together even more (what happened to the unstoppable Bron / Wade pick and roll?) or if Wade and Bron think they need to shoulder more of the load individually. They didn't lose to Dallas because of role players - they lost because the stars didn't play like stars. Be interesting to see if they come together better in the playoffs next year.

He didn't take any shots at the common man. He took shots at people that root for his failure. Even when LeBron loses those people still don't win. The only ones that won were the Mavs and their fans, and he treated them with respect.

Which he implied were common man with his wording. You want to defend him be my guest, but one thing is clear is it bothers LeBron greatly he is not admired like his idols growing up in Magic and Jordan, but he fails to realize he needs to earn that admiration, but he acts like it should be given to him on a silver platter and these comments won't help him get what he wants and that is the respect from the fans he desperately wants.

Charles Barkley said much worse, much more directly to Heat fans and there was not a peep from anyone in the media or any other fan base. Charels Barkley literally said "You can yell at me that I suck but you're working at McDonald's and I'm on tv making millions of dollars." Apparently, that's just Chuck being chuck, but LeBron can't say anything remotely negative towards anyone no matter how mild.

I am impressed he lasted this long without cracking with all the crap he's put up with

Rondo got hurt when they were down 2-0. and he actually played better after he got hurt.

Rose was NOT hurt. (Where is that one coming from?) You are not hurt when you can take off from the middle of the lane and slam it two handed on THE WARDEN.

Dirk's injury on his left hand had nothing to do with anything. He shot fine. That was his guide hand.

I guess this is phase TWO now...belittle the beatdowns they gave along the way.

for excuse making on injuries...the Heat had their two most important bench players hurt all year and got them back in the EC Finals. SO I don't want to hear it.

What you saw in the EC is what you can expect. One team is much better than the others. period.

The Heat lost to Dallas because their stars did not play like stars and they lack a 7 footer, which they will add. even then, that series was a coin toss.

The Heat could not be in a better position.

Charles Barkley is like Howard Stern, he rips on everybody just because he loves the attention it gets him, and that's why no one takes him seriously. Not to mention Barkley could care less if you hate him or not.

And again with your last sentence you refuse to accept LeBron does brings this on to himself, does it get too extreme, most definitely. I actually watched for the first time yesterday that pep rally he, Wade and Bosh did after they signed and while Wade and Bosh were being modest I was kinda stunned how much LeBron shot his mouth off, talking about how it was so going to be so easy for them to the point Pat Rielly could dress up and play and how many championships they wer going to win. If I was a NBA player I would be like what the **** man, nothing is easy in this league, and that's what I'm talking about when he brings it on to himself, people will remember this stuff and when you don't live up to your words they will shove it back down your throat. And they did.

Sec, I was just trying to have a normal conversation about the NBA. I wasn't trying to belittle anyone - it was an honest observation. I'm sure plenty of Heat fans wouls say Wade was hurt in Game 5 even though he came back out. Mike Miller was playing with one-arm out there, he was hurt and it impacted his game, even though he still hit some threes.

It is frustrating to try to have an actual conversation about the NBA or the team and it has to be turned into, "YOU'RE A HATER - WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE US" at every turn. Can't we just have a civilized conversation?

That post sounded more like you NEED to be hated than are actually hated. The Heat are the most talented team in the NBA and one of their weaknesses is shutting down PGs. The two legit PG they faced in the playoffs were injured - it was an honest observation.

Ahh again with pep rally. For the final time (and to still be discussing such an innocuous event nearly a year after it happened merely underscores the absurdity of the Heat coverage) the pep rally was for Heat fans. It was organizaed by the organization, not LBJ Bosh and wade. It was a FREE event for the people of Miami, many of whom could never afford tickets to an actual game. It was a chance to see the guys in person and have a little fun for an hour. The horror.

Nobody asked ESPN to put it on tv. ESPN chose to air it. Nobody asked you or anybody not a Heat fan to watch it. Those people chose to, because they were interested. Don't watch a porno and then comment how terrible it was. Just admit that you watched the porno because you were interested and move on with your life.

And LeBron didn't say anything wrong. He didn't promise any certain number of championships, just that they would have a chance to win several, and they will. He was right about that.

I'm not bashing you or your point Phin.

The Heat were already physically dominating the Celtics for 2 games while Rondo was healthy. rose was not injured to the best of my knowledge and Dirk's finger/fever didn't seem to affect him all that much.

Uhm, did I even criticize the pep rally? Or did I criticize LeBron's boast how many championships they were going to bring to Miami and how easy it was going to be?

It's obvious you can't find fault in anything this man does, but I'm sure you found fault when Rex Ryan boasted the Jets were going to win the Super Bowl.

I wonder if we'll see Chicago and Boston shape their roster more to match-up with the Heat. Dallas seemed to get away with smaller defenders on Bron and a strong zone defense - whereas Boston and Chicago tried to match-up with him one-on-one with a strong defender.

The interesting thing for the Heat is that the role players played great. Sure, there could be a few upgrades, but I don't think Miller, Chalmers or Anthony were the issue. Even House gave some decent minutes.

It really comes down to the Big 3 needing to be the Big 3 in the playoffs.

Neither Chi or Boston has much wiggle room to do anything. and neither is going to play zone for any length of time as it goes against their identities.

At the end of the day, Dallas just ended up being a bad match up for Bron. He didn't play all that well against them in the regular season either.

That is the whole point. THEY WEREN'T.

Rondo got shut down before he got injured. and played better after he got hurt. Remember that Rondo was shut down int eh regular season as well by the Heat.

and Derrick Rose was NOT hurt. Where did you get that he was hurt? he was shut down the entire series.

so it was not an "honest observation". it was a made up one. just pointing it out. you are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own facts.

If you want to argue that the injuries didn't impact the players it seems you have the stats to back it up.

However, saying I am making up my own facts because you don't like what I am saying is not fair. You admitted that Dirk and Rondo were injured - and then said that I was making up my own when I said they were injured. They can be injured and still play at a high level. Dwyane Wade and Dirk just proved that.

I was under the impression Derrick Rose had a sprained ankle that he re-injured during the Heat series. If that is wrong, then I stand corrected.

So you are admitting that he was injured, but sticking to your charge that I made up facts when I said he was injured?

Boston was a disaster this year, no doubt. And Miami handed it to them. I would expect them to come out as a better team next year. I can't imagine the loss of Perkins would derail them to the point that it did (though I didn't expect the addition of Chandler to help Dallas like it did. Maybe energetic bigs DO make that big of a difference).

Chicago needs another scoring option and I think they'd be a legitimate threat to Miami next year.

And the West is going to be stacked with Dallas getting Butler back, Memphis getting Gay back, LA probably landing a superstar in the next 2 years and OKC coming together.

My point wasn't to bash the Heat's accomplishments this year, but to say that the East was a bit watered down this year. That was not the Boston team of past years. The Chicago team is young and will probably get better. I would expect another team in the East (Atlanta, Orlando, NYK) to make a major move this offseason and become a contendor.

That isn't to say Miami won't be great - but they are the defending champs in the Eastern Conference - I think it is interesting to look ahead at what they'll face to defend that crown.
