It depends. If there's money involved I may get dressed up, if you're looking for a free bee then you'll just have to take what you get. Now, you coming over or what..............I need to know if I have to lie to the wife..........again.
Is this thread really still in the main forum? I mean seriously.... ...its not even Kenny Loggins' best song...
Agree with you on the comedy, South but this song doesn't have much of any relevance to this team....This is a team that is still rebuilding/retooling. We have a question at QB, RB, FB, TE, RG, LG, C, FS, SS, CB and depth issues all over the place. The football year hasn't started, the roster as it stands now is nowhere near what we are likely to see IF there is a resolution to the labor issues shortly. IF the labor issues drag on later than we think, who knows what this team will look like, who we'll be able to get via FA, if there is a FA....we could really see a vastly different team that doesn't even resemble what we had last year... There are way too many variables with the labor unrest to even think about what this team is or is not capable of next season at this point in time...the time for this thread would be the day that the new football year starts....whenever that is going to be...
My 7 year old doesn't understand kids his age who wear skinny jeans, say's he wants his package to be able to breathe..I don't blame him...
You're just upset that this is what you ended up with for a computer................like John Cusack's character in 'Better off Dead" where he gets a steamroller as a graduation gift.
Larry, How could anyone, including yourself, not believe that This Is It when it comes to Sparano, Henne, and the rest of this team?
Well, I don't completely buy into that South... Do you think this team is ready to make the next step forward as it is right now ?? It's not complete so how can an opinion be formed ?? I'm as die hard as any of us on this forum, but I just don't see this team as ready for anything. To assume that it's ready to move forward is silly. And IF the lockout drags on, certainly the regime gets a free ride. Say if the strike ends Sept. 1 and we start games on time and FA is all screwy ?? I just see the labor issue giving them a bit more time. Of course, we all know that Ross thinks outside the box, so nothing is a given...but
Okay first off, it was a joke. Second off, where are MY POSTS?!?!?! Tha majority of them end up in the Trophy Case for this site. Feel free to view them here: http://www.thephins.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?66-Trophy-Case But enough of proving how much more relevant I am to this site than you, or how my manifestos trump Kenny Loggins songs. I appreciate your attempt at keeping things rolling during the lockout. But honestly, couldn't you have at least started a music thread using one of our minority owners? J.Lo, Jimmy Buffet (hell you could tie in ckparrothead with that one!), or even T-Pain. Perhaps you got footloose, confused with football? I am not sure, but just in case. One stars Kevin Bacon and the other has stars that eat bacon...and some are named Kevin (I assume Kevin Mawae, Kevin Gogan and other Kevin's eat bacon. Furthermore, are all Kevin's in football, big fat linemen?) Oh, and I am not sure how you managed to muck (see what I did there?) up the quote feature, but allow me to help. Simply click the quote tab, after reading a post...and then start typing below the last [/ QUOTE] mark and voila!, clean post...like this one. Have a good day.
Great your inability to quote right makes it look like I quote myself. Thanks a lot Southbeach. Edit: in answer to my own question in the previous post. I suppose Kevin Faulk doesn't qualify as a big fat linemen, thus deflating my Kevin/NFL theory. Damn...
Sam, First off, I apologize for missing the joke, which was entirely my fault. Second off, I am somewhat new to this forum, and was totally unaware of posts being immortalized in any trophy case. I'm sure it is an accomplishment well worth noting, and my congrats to you for that accomplishment. That being said, I frankly don't care. I would much rather see someone, even though not immortalized, coming up with something to talk about when there is nothing to talk about. To me, that is a bigger challenge than resting on one's reputation in old posts, which are only remembered by you wanting them to be. That's just my opinion, for whatever it's worth. How many Phans here can say Oh well, there is nothing to talk about, can we all remember the great posts Sam had a year, or two, or three ago? I think not. Now, I'm being as defensive as you were.
My apologies for that. However, I have to believe that most posters will be able to tell the difference.
Uh-Oh! Not for nothing, but you know that whole skinny jeans discussion that has been going on in this very thread? The one where Sick referenced jokes from 3 years ago...I take a small bow as that is in reference to things I had originally brought up. Nonetheless, you are right. I pointed out the trophy case forum to A: toot my own horn, B: make you kiss the pinkie ring and C: help you navigate the forum for all its features. And to toot my horn further, the posts stop going into the Trophy case after they started being put on the front page. But that is all in the past. I reserve my posts these days for my own website, another website that I help run and, you know, this place when there is something relevant to talk about...like how awesome I used to be. Although, I believe you have inspired me to bring back the Lounge feature "10 Questions"...if you are so inclined to particpate.
It should be back soon. Files are pulled off the old server. It is simply a matter of getting Mindwarp to quit playing video games long enough to put them on the new one and the Tent of Hate will be back.
If I inspired a great poster to post, it has been a good day. It would be my pleasure to participate in anything you do.
you know...if you look beyond this lame loggins tune...you do make a good point. and i actually like quite a few of his tunes. but yes...if we go 7-9 again, or god forbid worse...thats it...firesale.
Thanks. Liking or disliking the tune matters little. The lyrics were very descriptive of this team, this year. JMO
No offense dude, but Kenny Loggins? Kenny Freakin' Loggins? Yeah, he and his songs embody that tough football spirit. Holy Poop! It's bad enough that we have Jimmy Buffet and that "shake it to the left, etc, s--t song and now Loggins. Yikes! They're going to come out of the tunnel to "Margaritaville" and "This is it" and then proceed to get their asses kicked by the opposing teams cheerleaders.
