http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...s-says-a-deal-isnt-coming-for-two-full-weeks/.. Mods, Keep Travis {aqua} away, he might have a conniption..lol.. I'am sorry I had to post it.. I said from the beginning of this BS that I didn't trust That D Smith cat, today I saw a picture of him with his shirt unbuttoned low enough where it exposed his 1984 gold choker necklace, you know the one I'am talkin about my fellow paisan's..lol.. The other thing about this that I don't trust...I think the majority of the players could care less about having a full training camp, you know, I know, they know, their lazy and think they don't need it to perform..I think they would rather sacrifice the time in order to squeeze every last drop they can.. I just hope its not true, and all I can do at this point is laugh at all you mother grabbers who lose their sh$#..lol
Not for 2 and half weeks anyway, Then it's back to Tucson to finish up some school (big hug, leetle kees). Let me tell you, University of Arizona football has a great stadium with perfect weather to enjoy some fun and talented games...NFL will not be missed.
Classic case of PFT over reaching Deej, Pitts did not say "the lockout will go on for 2 more weeks" he said "two more weeks to get the situation resolved"...which situation? The lawsuits? The CBA? Which one was he speaking about? Where is the context of what he was responding to? This is why PFT is kinda garbage Deej.
Actually, if you read the article closely, the only quote attributed to Chester Pitts is "two full weeks." The part about "to get the situation resolved" is not attributed to Pitts at all.
Which is kind of what I mean about PFT trowa, they take a tiny bit of information, in this case 4 words, with no context, then run with it. Generates lots of page hits, is de facto garbage.
yeah i didn't think it was the gospel, i'am glad you and Trowa pointed that out, makes me feel better..I just want to start camp on time. Hey, do you think when they announced that camp will be delayed for three days they were talking about the teams that are supposed to report 2maro, or all teams? there were no specific dates when I heard that?
I was watching the news this morning and the talk was the two weeks referred to the time it would take to re-certify the NFLPA so they could take a vote.
Yup, that appears to be the culprit. Something about needing 1000 certification cards filled out and returned in order to re-certify. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why that should take two weeks. There's a lot of money at stake here. I'm just guessing they don't want to spend the necessary dough to ensure that it gets done sooner.
Albert Breer was saying that they cant vote until this lawsuit is resolved, I posted it somewhere.... Who knows how long that would take...
Exactly. God forbid they do something drastic like arrange for the re-certification cards to be printed locally for all the players they need them from, and then sent back by overnight mail. God forbid they actually consider flying players somewhere so they can sign their re-certification cards and then fly back. That might cost MONEY. They'd rather lose money than spend money.
Yeah this thing is moving to slow for it to be done within the next few days. I honestly think we end up missing the first pre season game if not the first 2.
I think the players might be aiming to lose the Hall of Fame game. They want the owners to suffer a bloody nose out of this somehow.
I may have heard it wrong but there was a legal analyst on NFLTA last night that said they could do it with something as simple as e-mail.
I think this is right. It is actually something I have been thinking about for a little bit now that the major issues seemed to have been worked out. The players appear to want to kick a little dirt onto the owners right before shaking their hands.
LOL. Oh no, that would just be....INSANE!!! The President can sign bills into law while being physically out of the country but players can't give their re-certification votes remotely. Nice.
One game won't affect next year's salary cap much. But in the mean time, players get something like $50,000 from each preseason game while the owners get more like $4 million or something like that. It's stupid but yeah the players feel like they can do without the preseason games more than the owners.
