Yeah he sure was accurate in those Detroit and Cleveland games, where he just couldn't miss hitting the defensive players for the winning drives.

C'mon DJ just admit it, you're really Jesse Agler, right ?

    Hah!!
You expect a 1st/2nd year starting QB to be capable of tossing a team full of problems onto his shoulders and leading them to the playoffs?
What fantasy world do you live in? :tongue2: No QB drafted since 2005 has displayed that ability.
Aaron Rodgers. That's it..... and there's only 1 of him to go around.

really? are you talking about the same Lions game where he was throwing accurate darts into tropical storm caliber winds?

Is this the same game Henne scored enough points to win, only to have the defense blow a comfortable lead in the last 5 minutes, forcing Henne to try and win it despite Suh being unblockable while also having to throw to a group of unfamiliar practice squad WRs/TE & Bess on the outside (rather than in the slot where he belongs)? You realize the Lions having starting defensive players with more experience and talent than our practice squad guys who are trying to prevent them from winning, right.

Is this the same game where our ground game disappeared in the 2nd half after an injury caused the Oline to play musical chairs? With a comfortable lead do you really think it's wise to try and pad the score by having Henne throw into the teeth of the wind?

You do realize this is football, a team sport with 11 guys playing at a time rather than golf or singles tennis. lol.

Henne's play had us in position to win. Scoring 27 points in those weather conditions (especially considering our amount of injuries and lack of depth) should've been more than enough to beat Detroit. The DEFENSE failed us; not Henne. Chad was thrust into the daunting position of trying to make up for their mistakes, not the other way around.

you'd think that to be the case, but nope. Not yet. Probably will happen within the next few years, but he was basically no better at carrying his team when it wasn't playing well than Henne was. I rewatched every one of his snaps within a week's time, and I can objectively tell you that Ryan got away with a lot of mistakes, mistakes that Henne didn't.

Case in point, playing the Browns. Henne makes a few bad throws that contribute to our loss. Ryan makes virtually the exact same poor throws but gets away with 2 or 3 easy INTs that would've cost Atlanta the game. Falcons won & Ryan's bad game goes under the rug; Dolphins lose and Henne's chastized.
Matt had multiple games where this occurred. Arizona was another game. Matt got away with about 3 early picks that would've completely changed the game; instead he gets extra chances, finally turns it around b/c the game never got out of hand, and then Zona makes some mistakes that allow the Falcons to tack on the points and win big. On paper Ryan's stats and 40+ Falcon points make him look outstanding; however, watching the game you realize Atlanta could've very well lost if Zona capitalized on Matt's INT opportunities. And let's not forget the playoff game vs the Packers.

Ryan also had a very solid & consistent ground game. On paper, stat wise, it doesn't look too dissimilar to ours. However when you watch them play, the difference is quite apparent. Atlanta ground game was very good at picking up yards on first down and picking up tough yards & breaking big plays when Atlanta needed them. When Ryan was aided by this solid run game (which was often), he was successful. When the ground game stuttered, he never displayed a clear ability to pick up the slack and carry them.

Two very good aspects of Blalock...he has been playing LG so no need to move a RG over, like if we signed Dahl. Two, he is a true iron man in the Ripken, Favre mold. Over 50 straight starts at Texas, most in Longhorns history, or so I read. Since he came into the NFL, he missed only two games and starts as a rookie and started every other game since. Being he was a rookie, I do not know if he missed those two games for performance or health reasons. One is as likely as the other. So from 2007 thru 2010, he has played in and started 62 regular season games out of a possible 64. If you are gonna give a big contract to a OL, I'd rather he was a durable one like this, than one with a checkered injury history like Smiley and Grove.
Third thing is, he is a very good player with the feet to play LT and the reason he is a guard instead is his short arms. Maybe he cannot make the long pull like a healthy Smiley could, but, he would be a big improvement over anyone we currently got at guard.

No clue. other than we could see what kind of deal Daryn Colledge got, and figure pretty close to it.

edit: Colledge signed with the Cards and Dahl signed with the Rams, but cannot find any details of contract sizes.

Falcons resigned RT Clabo and lost RG Dahl, so may push harder to try and resign Blalock. I really doubt we invest big in any guards, so while I'd like him I do not expect us to sign him.
