Funny, I like his game his issue is accuracy, mainly he does not have much of it,.

As I've said before I studied closely about 15 different veteran QBs this off season. Troy Smith and Matt Moore were two of them. Both graded very close to the bottom of the list. If you really watch Troy Smith enough you'd see that he's not really seeing the field well at all, is late in everything he does, and all he can do well is improvise under pressure.

I do not think seeing the field is his issue CK, his problem is he simply is not an accurate enough Qb to start in the NFL and achieve success.

You know, I don't have a problem with them working out guys, but what are they thinking with some of these? Tiki Barber and Troy Smith? Come on man.

To each his own. I watched the games, I studied them, seeing the field is an issue.

I kept an eye on him, he throws a nice deep pass, is not as mobile as people would think he would be, but has atrocious accuracy his skillset does fit the NFL, his performance does not.

I keep an eye on fmr Dolphins from the 08 sqaud and tried to watch Ted Ginn which is why I bothered.

Tiki Barber I actually don't mind. The last time the guy played he was a 1700 yard rusher. He's 36 years old and hasn't played in four years, I know all that, but the Dolphins aren't looking for a 1700 yard rusher. They should be worried that their star RB acquisition Reggie Bush isn't even a 400 yard rusher, and the other guy is a rookie 2nd/3rd rounder that has only been playing the position for two years.

You don't often see guys take layoffs like that at that position and then come back. There's not much of a sample pool to talk about and point to and say, see...it never works. We just don't know. But the man had talent, and I for one would be ALL FOR finding out if any of that is still there.

Tiki should do wonders for the lockerroom, qb and coaching staff.

Like I said in Club, I suspect we chose Kevin O'Connell over Troy Smith as they likely worked out on the same day.

Have to think adding O'Connel and Willis speaks volumes about what sparano thinks is the weaknesses of this team.

And I really do love that, reminds me of 08..player not getting it done...get them out of here.

    Don't agree.

It's laughable to me and I'll tell you why.

Barber hasn't played in 4 years and it's not like hes in his late 20's were talking about 36 years old.
This guy is not going to regain anything near his 1700 yard form. Sure he's had time for his body to refresh itself but mid 30's isn't a time where your body bounces back and progresses. It's hard enough for an active athlete to keep up with youth at this age let alone one that has completely removed himself from the NFL's physical rigors for years now.

There were a group on here that were saying we don't need a vet back. That the Phins were happy with what they have to back up the rook.
Yet they screw around working out a 36 year old retired veteran?

Some were arguing Reggie Bush is enough. How they think that is beyong me. He has never been a primary back and he's been unable to stay healthy in his limited role. Now he's going to carry the load between the tackles along with the rook? Ha!

Others said Lex Hilliard is the answer and the Phins know it.
Well any support of that scenario went right out the window with them working out Barber.
Obviously someone realizes they need an everydown back to share carries or take over if the rook struggles.
Yet they weren't serious enough to sign any serious candidates. They are dickin around IMO and are in danger of having no decent options left by the time they get their acts together. If they want a cheap Vet option R. Williams is still available to us. In full football shape, younger and we know him.

Some of the things they've done recently make me worry about them more than any of the other antics others on here worry about. Even more than the coaching search.

This Troy Smith workout is just another head scratching waste of time.
