It's gonna be really hard watching Ricky play for another team. I'm really gonna miss him. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/08/ricky-williams-joins-the-ravens/
@!!~! I wanted Ricky back. Oh well Jeff and Tony made their bed. Ricky would have been solid vet for which you could have leaned on.
Not going to be hard for me. I was a big fan of Ricky, but he's a backup RB at the end of his career playing for another team. No skin off my back. Might actually be harder to watch Ronnie if McCoy somehow gets injured. In that system, Ronnie could put up numbers similar to what he did under Cameron for the first several games.
Meh. I have always viewed him as a curse of sorts. I wish him well, but I would be a liar if I didn't say I was happy he is gone.
I actually see it the same way. There's just this Stigma the team has had since Ricky has been here...maybe bad timing with bad coaches, but he's been a consistent part of it. Probably for the best he moves on elsewhere. That's probably not fair to him, but meh...
Not like it took a whole lot of effort on their part. We weren't ready to win a playoff game against a solid team at that point.
I still have a strong dislike for them. The only good thing they did for us was losing in our 1-15 season.
Would have been nice to have as your 3rd guy IMO. Just for the sake of this year until we know what, for sure we have with Thomas. He's a veteran guy, who can still be productive over a 3 game stretch when needed. I think he's that kind of guy nowadays. Thats really what we need at that #3 guy given the other bodies we have at the position. Having him around for one more year, to me, in terms of talent, position and roster position would have been a good fit. I'm not upset with it by any means, just saying that from my point of view just having his talent available this year given what we have; a rookie an Bush, may have been a nice security blanket so to speak. You know what you have with Ricky.
This team will not miss Ricky! Even if one of the Rb's were to get hurt, he is just not capable of carrying a big load anymore. As a backup, he'd be ok but with the way this team ran last year it's better they move on...
Good, along with McQuistan signing in TN, would prefer to move on from the mess that was our 2010 offense and not look back. Still think he can be effective, think he also wanted to a team he thought could win the SB.
So when did you actually start watching football? Because 1 guy on a 53-man roster ain't gonna do much especially at the RB position.
I really wanted him back. I have very minimal confidence in a rookie running back and Bush. Ricky can still get it done. We STILL need to sign a proven back. Problem is...who's left?
Ricky, best of luck to you. Sorry to see you go, but at least in Baltimore, you'll be used to your full potential and probably get 20-25 carries per game. Tear them up Ricky......except when/if you play us!!!
Whatever Mr Cynical. We had the rough 2 year episode with Ricky as he dealt with his issues. but he was a good team player and set a damn good example to others during the remainder of his tenure here. So, bottom line. you're wrong. And BTW, it's a team game. If you're running back is great and the rest of the team is average, the end result = average.
why? didn't he say during the offseason he was looking forward to playing for a different team? i never cheer for any afc team after the dolphins are out of it. ^^^
Gonna miss rw. One of my all tome favorites, the guy was an absolute bull. Best wishes to him except vs us
congrats on cheering for baltimore? it's a message board with differing opinions...i was just offering mine.
Well that sucks. Better hope Thomas isn't a bust, or we are screwed. And nothing wrong with cheering for the Ravens to go to the Super Bowl. Of all the contenders in the AFC, I'd rather see them go than any of the others except maybe the Chiefs. Let's face it, the Dolphins are a looooong shot right now. We don't even know if our offense will be better. If Thomas is mediocre or Bush gets hurt, we would have to rely on the passing attack? That would equal 3rd or 4th place. Let's see if Bush can stay healthy and Thomas is the real deal.
I'm not a big fan of RW. Never was. Having said that, and as far as I can remember, when he came back he was a good soldier, and did whatever he was asked to do. Comments he may have made, personality and age aside, I do question the decision by this FO to let him go. Ronnie Brown too for that matter. Either (and my choice would've been RB) would have provided a solid veteran presence and continuity in the RB ranks. JMHO...
Oh I dont disagree, but he could have been a crutch while Thomas adjusts. I dont think we are doomed by any means as a result. Just more that as much as Tonye and Jeff hooked their line to Henne, they did teh same with Thomas and Bush.
