Bull crap, there are blackouts all around the entire NFL. Unless you are in NE, Green Bay there are blackouts if the owner and local businesses do not buy up tickets. Even in the larger NY market, The Jets owner and Giants owner had to buy up tickets and local radio stations. A lot of people are hurting regardless of the RAH RAH crap you read about recovery. Sure more would sell if the team was 11-5 or something like that but look around the league, even teams with those records have to rely on the owners of the team and local businesses to buy up tickets these days.

I don't think Denver will have any issues. This team out here isn't very good, but people support them no matter what.

Slow thread day? This story was written 25 days ago. A lot has happened since then. Tickets will sell.

It is current news. The Gators thing and everything they have said points towards desperation to sell tickets. If we do not do well week 1, I could see a blackout. This is real

I might be wrong, but I don't think this team had a regular season blackout in over a decade, so I doubt it.

Last Dolphins blackout was 1998. Mike Dee was on Finsiders today. Said the games against the Patriots, Jets and Eagles are nearly sold out. But he said they're struggling a bit with the Broncos and other early games like that, presumably Texans. Redskins might be another. In the end I think enough tix will be sold...but they're getting closer to one. Another season without a winning record could make it happen. There's a bunch of late season home games,so those could be affected by the first half performance of the team.

Lots of early pressure. Henne, Sparano obviously under big pressure, and the staff is to sell tickets. Big opening two home games, one in primetime against a rival, one against a team whose always beaten Miami in close games. Great chance to make a statement and sell the team to fans. I know they started 2-0 last year, but both those teams ended up in last place. Patriots should be a playoff team, and Texans should challenge to be one again.

I think a win on monday night at home against the pats could change whatever issues there are for early season home games.

I won't argue that a win over the Patriots would do a lot to excite the fan base and possibly lead to an increase in ticket sales. Unfortunately it is more likely that the Dolphins are going to lose the game against the Patriots and this will only increase the chances that there will be a number of local blackouts for Dolphin home games this season.

If the team can somehow get off to a fast start then the tickets will fly off the shelves. If not then there will be black outs. It happens with nearly all pro teams.

I sure miss those Don Shula teams. They always got off to a fast start. Of course I'm sure I don't miss the fast starts as much as Ross does right now…

This is the first time in 10 years I won't be flying down to watch a game. Plane tickets have gone up, Phins tickets are expensive, and I went to two games last year, and they lost them both. I pay for Sunday ticket, and I always go to Phins at Jets, but I just don't think I can swing it this year. I'm only two tickets for one (maybe two) games a year, but I'm sure there are a lot of people like me who just can't justify spending the money.

Just to put things in perspective....Miami is 11-22 in the last 33 home games. not exactly a way to build a fanbase.....I'm surprised its taken this long to get a blackout. Actually this pointsto many Dolfans loyalty....more loyalty than they have shown segments of their fans this past week.

Cincy has had a number of them. Early in 2009 they had them because most people thought they would suck, but they surprised and won the AFC north, and games later in the season sold out. That would happen here too if we surprize and win the 1st two.

Its not fun to go and watch them lose...which has happened to regularly in the last 10 years.
