Well, with nothing happening on the Dolphins front until 7 pm tomorrow night, thought it would be a good time for a poll.

Which players is the longest of longshots to succeed this yr?

    Chad Henne
    Larry Johnson
    Marc Colombo
    Jimmy Wilson
    Brandon Marshall
    Reggie Bush

Chad Henne is at the toughest position so I'd say he's the Cinderella Man. It will be tougher for him to succeed than anybody else on that list.

Tuff question Padre. From what I've seen, and my own expectations, I would say Columbo has the least chance to succeed. With Henne and Marshall, it's the degree of success. With Wilson and LJ, they don't have to do a "whole lot" to be considered a success.

I would add in Hartline, who many have doubts on. I look for him to have a big year.

Gotta say Chad....no other player has the weight on his shoulders like he does.

Come to think of it....I cant remember ever a season where one player has been as doubted....as he. No doubt man....its Chad.

I agree that Henne needs to be the Cinderella Man this season. Unfortunately, I'm afraid midnight is going come quickly during the regular season and he will once again turn into the mediocre QB we have all grown to know over the last two seasons.

I guess I will say that Henne is not on the top of the longshot... they have brought in some more weapons and scheme to help his production (scheme included), if he does not succeed this year (efficiency wise), he will not be starting next year for Miami...

I believe the longshot is LJ, his tenure with the team depends on the health of our RBs, unless he becomes productive, then the roster becomes interesting...

I have to think it has to be Henne. 2012 season will be based on what Henne does in the next 16 games.

I suspect Chad will put up numbers, but not necessarily TD's, a sort of 20yd line to 20yd line Qb.

To me though, Larry Johnson has the greatest boom or bust potential, he has been cut twice in a yr, and only brought back due to DT's hammy and toughness issues, he is on paper thin ice and could be gone after every game.

Marshall and Bush aren't "long shots".

Going with Hartline. I think he can be as good as Jordy Nelson.

Marshall is coming off his worse yr as a starter and Bush has been named "injury prone".

That doesn't make him a longshot. He has proven his worth in the NFL by catching 100 passes for three straight years.

Bush has been labeled injury prone for at least three years. That's nothing new, even if Madden '12 just came up with status designations.

As for Marshall, he's still considered a top five player at his position when healthy, so that doesn't really constitute him being a long shot.

Well gosh Des, I'd guess he has to prove that label to be incorrect.

Off his rep in Denver, sure, the fact of the matter is he was not a alpha/game breaking Wr for us in 2010, and missed 2.5 games, he has something to prove.

Well gosh Padre, I'd guess that alone wouldn't qualify for "Cinderella Man" candidacy.

He has something to prove, sure. He doesn't have to prove that he's an elite player. Again, you're reaching here.

Outside of Dolphin fans, I'd say Henne is the Cinderella man. No one (that hasn't been paying attention to the Phins this offseason) expects him to succeed. Out of those who have been paying attention, I'd say most of us are expecting improvement. In fact, we've already seen it.

So, Henne will be the 'big' Cinderella story. However, I expect Sean Smith to be the real Cinderella story.

Since we are dealing with men here, can we change title to Cinderfella ?

Nah, in preseason 2010 Lavar Arrington called Cam Wake "cinderella man" after he turned his career around, the name is based on:

    -Russel Crowe boxing movie
    -Eminim song

As I think of "Cinderella" I don't think Marshall belongs on the list, but since he is then he is the one most likely to put BIG numbers. This article says it all...
