I almost want to feel bad for him. Sparano wants to stay in Miami....... but I guess he's apathetic by now and knows he's on the way out.
I honestly get the sense now that he would be relieved if the axe came down sooner than later. His demeanor is of a man who knows it's inevitable, but can't quit for financial reasons and has to wait to be fired. Same sense I got from Wannstedt in his last weeks. Ross does us and the team a disservice every minute he retains the guy in the face of the certainty of his demise.
Personally I don't think Sparano even cares what anyone else thinks at this time. He was given a new three year contract by Ross after Ross returned from California without signing Harbaugh. By now Sparano can see the hand writing on the wall and realizes that he is not going to be the Dolphins coach after this season. So he is going to do as he pleases for as long as he remains the head coach. If the Dolphins continue to lose, so be it, because no matter what record the Dolphins end up with this season. Sparano will be sitting pretty, while he receives a full paycheck for the remaining two years of his contract from Ross. It must be nice to be so ineffective in your job and still make millions of dollars a year.
