Not for me. I know that Atlanta can't go to St. Louis and win a game. Especially since Tim Hudson is pitching tonight and wouldn't be available tomorrow. The Braves haven't won a single game in St. Louis since 2009. Freddie Gonzales should have skipped Derek Lowe in the rotation. Then just maybe we would have had a legitimate shot at coming into the finale one game up still with Beachy pitching. I like those odds a lot better. Now we need Huddy to deliver tonight and probably Beachy to go and deliver in an impossibly difficult situation for a rookie.

They blew the save and have to go to extras. Who would have guessed that was going to happen. I've got work in the morning I can't sit up any longer and watch the Braves finish flushing the season.

Don't worry Fredi Gonzalez will make Venters and Kimbrel pitch tomorrow anyway.

Have to mention this. I'm not trolling. But, the Braves, Phillies, and Mets all have historic collapses to end a season. As a Marlins fan, I love it.

Like Mainge said, amazing season. You have a young nucleus of great talent like Heyward, Mcann, Venters, Kimbril, and Hanson. Eventually the Phillies will die of old age, and the Braves should take over the NL East.

Suddenly I'm not sure he is going to be able to realize any of the potential this roster has. Banged up or not this is not a 9-18 team. What a pathetic September. Makes me sick to my stomach even though I tried really hard to accept this a couple of weeks ago. It just doesn't really sink into until it happens and the season is capped with a five game losing streak.

Am so used to the bullpen never being clutch that this is not much of a surprise.

I did not believe this was a World Series caliber team to begin with, when the starting pitching collapsed, making the playoffs would have been nice, but we would not have went anywhere anyway.

They were world series caliber at times, things just kind of fell apart. I agree we probably wouldn't have done crap but you always want a chance. The big mistake was not skipping Derek Lowe's last couple of starts. Just throw Julio Teheran in there, he gives you a better chance to win. One or two more wins is all it would have taken.

Well the future looks bright. But jj needs to stay healthy, and our bats need to be more consistent. How long is bourn signed for?

"If" Chipper does not lose a ball, in the infield, in the lights, this would have been over as well.

That is the nature of MLB, long season, stuff happens.

Bats went cold, starting pitching melted down with injuries and ineffectiveness, and the bullpen failed.

Braves hitters also did not take pitches, they reverted to "we need a 3 run Hr" mode and it failed.

Moving forward, really hope J-Hey can rebound as Chipper is 237 yrs old, we need a foundation piece and he is a good candidate for it.

They weren't taking pitches all season. Say what you about Pendelton but when he was hitting coach they at least had a good OBP and drew plenty of walks. A collapse like this is not just 'the nature of MLB'. Losing streaks and slumps are yes, but for everything to just fail at once. Why doesn't this happen to the Phillies? They are mere humans after all. Maybe Charlie Manuel made a deal with the devil but these guys are always playing as well as they need to be to get it done in September. Three out of the past four years they've just hit a button and cruised past a stumbling rival at the end of the season. It can't just all be luck.

I was there last night. Very depressing. But I take solace in knowing that this team should be good for a while. We're young and absolutely loaded on pitching.
