I have no idea what you mean or are talking about.

    Yanks vs DET round 1.

What does TEX have to do with anything this round?

They launched Space Shuttles out of Corpus Christi, along with Cape Canaveral in Fla.....so basically I was saying Tex is going to turn the Bronx into his launching pad.....

    Tapping the bottle already BDH??

    Me??

You are jumping ahead a full series and PROJECTING that TEX and Yanks will match up and then what will be the result.

    Focus on DET please.

EDIT - Wait do you mean Mark Teixeira???? Geez, you keep typing TEX and it confused me. Fool. I think I follow now, but damn, that was a stretch to make using a nickname.

Also, the Bronx doesnt need a TEXAS local knickname to discuss HRs....they are the BRONX BOMBERS for a reason. :pity:

If you werent a closet Sox fan, and actually knew real Yankees history, you wouldnt try to make such lame correlations to a Texas city. :tongue2:

A little worried about having Jesus as the BUC, i dont think girardi will use him as a pinch hitter, because he doesnt want posada catching...

So why isn't Tex, Swish, and A-Rod on a "short leash" either...if this guy is so quick to pull that card out for a underachiever....you cant say the money....AJ is overpaid....man I would to see him come out and deal tonight just so it would go up Girardi's ***....

Honestly. Burnett can earn his entire year's salary tonight. Pitch a great game in the postseason and all is forgiven. Go 23-3 in the regular season and fail in the playoffs and we have to dump your ***. For the yankees its all how you perform in october

Darn, some good performances in this series from bats like Posada, Gardner, Cano...but in the end, not enough. But the future is bright and time to reload with youth in the ARM department. Looking forward as this season we did overachieve with the likes of Colon and Garcia, and Nova stepping up. We overcame injuries and lost games to AROD, and down season from Posada.

All in all, winning AL East was nice simple LEVELING moment, dropping series to DET was a little bit of a let down, but next year is really taking shape to inject youth with Montero (if not traded) and Romine, and of course will be interesting to see which of the B's make their way into the 25 man.

To me there future is bogged down with long contracts in too many key spots....Tex is an eyesore, A-Rod is just wow....and CC what to do about CC, the guy isnt an ace...he is a good innings eater, but nearly everytime you lean on him for a big game, he doesnt come through....

If he opts out and wants a raise I will be pissed, he doesn't deserve one...

You really need to develop an even keel approach, this back and forth of them being GREAT when they produce, and HORRIBLE when it doesnt work out the way you DEMAND is really a tough an seemingly unsatisfying way to enjoy a franchise - or worse JUDGE them. Its tainted either way.

Fact is, this franchise and its current contracts are far from a burden. The only future that's relevant is 2012.

Geez, you set yourself for contradiction and disappointment so many times with your "this player is old and a bum, this one needs to step up, we cant pay so and so" all the way to "this guy is the greatest ever, he is a stud, blah, blah,blah....". Seriously, just take a chillpill and relax and lets see what happens. It makes it so hard to have a rationale discussion sometimes. Its so taxing...hehehehe.:wink2:

Throwing out the baby with the bathwater is no way to build a franchise. Thank goodness the Gene Michaels', Brian Cashman's, and even the Steinbrenner's have more perspective than what you are espousing. Teixiera saves more runs with this D then any Yanks 1B since Mattingly, and he is far, far superior glove than Donny BBall. Arod has to overcome the injuries and heal up - but its not like his M.O. wasnt known, and his glove work at 3B is an asset. As far as CC, he is the ACE and innings eater this Staff needs. And will need next year with the addition of the B-team members (haha, like that phrase). Swish is a role player, if you can upgrade do it. Gardner you havent mentioned (probably cause he didnt leave you wanting more), but he is the same. An asset, but has his moments. Yanks do have to plan for Jeter replacement, and decide about DH rotation. Aside from that what significant HOLES do they really have?

Yes, Yankees as a Franchise and Fanbase expect to contend for WS Title each season. Frankly, regardless of losing in ALDS vs DET, they are in that position again (better than Sox missing out on playoffs the last two seasons) so some perspective is in order.

2011 was not the year. But they are positioned far better then any other franchise to make 2012 the 28th title. They will tinker and add some parts (mostly likely from within - which is a great thing). I think this FA period or offseason trade targets could be limited. Big questions about a CJ Wilson type, or a trade for King Felix from the arm side....and maybe a bat but I think its really a youth movement from inside the farm more than anything else.

Enjoy the ride - and accept the destination - another Yankees Train is leaving the station starting today. Lets see if its going all the way to WS stop #28. Perspective goes a long way.

P.S. tip of the cap to Posada for going out (most likely) in style.

Funny, if we got past DET; then vs TEX I would have expected him to take a seat vs all the TEX Lefty's....Montero would have got the starts at DH mostly, and Hip Hip would have come off the bench.

It didnt work out, but Jorge did his job.
