The messias is here...Sage is back. I guess we will continue our SfL campaing. by Ben Volin http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...enne-opts-for-season-ending-shoulder-surgery/
He's probably nothing more than a back up at this point, but back in 2003-2004, I think he could have been a functional starter. He could have been better than what Miami had at the time had they just given him the chance. I know in '04 Marc Trestman said that Sage was the best quarterback on the roster with AJ Feeley and Jay Fiedler.
I want to drown in the awesomeness of this news. If this isn't real I'm going to be severely disappointed.
Thought we would sign him, but with Henne out thought Garrard would have made more sense. Full Speed ahead on the Matt Moore train.
This is becasue Mr. Ross is to cheap to actually get a QUALITY Quarterback. So now we get a cast off from his last two teams oh and another Retread... This season that started with promise has gone the way of the sewer. Why can't we get a professional owner and a stronger front office. I am just disgusted with this, another faux Pas move.
Wel I don't see the Matt Moore/Sage Rosenfels Dolphins beating the Jets next week. Only thing I can possibly see is Daniel Thomas running all over them. If Thomas isn't ready to go though we are screwed.
Sage Rosenfels is trending on Twitter worldwide....quick someone take a screenshot, you'll never see that again! Odds they put him in the game at halftime against the Jets to lead us to victory....? Isn't it great we have a QB who was on the roster during the Wannstedt & Saban regimes! Obviously they know they aren't getting to .500 or they would have signed Garrard. So...is Ireland on the Suck for Luck train...are he and Ross in cahoots on that. I'd be surprised if 45,000 fans showed up to the games not featuring the Eagles, Jets and Bills. (Where more fans of those teams will be in the crowd). Fans have no reason to care about this season anymore...and most want the #1 Pick aka Andrew Luck.
Logical move. I don't see why Garrard would sign without some kind of guarantee about starting and with reports that he looked horrid in Jax and no time in this offense, I don't see why Miami would give him any such guarantee.
Sage can really sling the ball so the vertical game is still on. At least it will be entertaining. I feared we would sign a QB who would be dinking and dunking the ball downfield .Being boring is worse than being bad.
Holy crap! Schefter says they also looked at Kellen Clemens, J.P. Losman, Jim Sorgi and Charlie Frye! They really ARE committed to the SuckForLuckalypse!
Hmm, that could go either way. Either sarcasm because we've come full circle to Suckitude. Or, signing Sage pushes us closer to Luck which puts us on a path to the championship.
Even better CK....Indy may want to get off this train. http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/10/06/2441769/peyton-manning-hopeful-for-return.html Peyton Manning has "increased activity" and is still hopeful for a return this season.
He and Carroll DNP'd today, someone mentioned Vern was hurt again as well, but he'll probably play..unfortunately. IDK, to me, you have an All Pro Qb walking the streets, healthy after a full training camp, why they would not choose him over Sage is not making a whole lot of sense to me. We've got 12 more games to play, and 2 weeks off, Garrard could have been up to speed by the Broncos game.
I hate to say it Ck, but that is a logical conclusion, Matt Moore is not a bad Qb, but Garrard is roaming around, we go with Sage?
Can Ireland think he is going to be around to draft Andrew Luck? I would be worried Ireland would, 1. Ask him if his mother's a whore. 2. Draft a placekicker or mediocre RG instead.
Oh man, I wonder if Peyton Manning is trying to pull some kind of power move here to ensure that they can't draft Andrew Luck, which would forcibly end Peyton's career in Indy immediately. He's getting really involved with the coaching of Curtis Painter and the offense, too. He's always basically functioned as co-Offensive Coordinator. The Colts are favored by 2.5 this weekend. (crossing fingers).
I have to say it smells like a reversal to where they really are chalking this season up and setting up for Andrew Luck. Ross won't spend money on a QB to make the QB situation better. And both Daniel Thomas and Reggie Bush are so injury prone, having Lex Hilliard start games for us is probably inevitable. Pretty soon you might curiously start to see injured veterans like Tony McDaniel go on Injured Reserve.
This would not surprise me. I'd be more than happy if the Colts didn't have 30 straight years of elite QB play. That would just be unfair.
Wow, never thought of that CK, but it makes sense. And incidentally, the Colts probably still fancy them SB contenders if Peyton come come back reasonably soon so they may not actually want to be involved in this race. Are we sure we want Indy to win? KC picking up win #2 with plenty of winnable games left on the schedule could eliminate them This is a smart business move by ross. Signing Garrard is not going to put butts in the seats, nor is it some sort of guarantee we'd win any games. The smart move is to simply endure this season and get ready for the avalanche of press, season ticket sales, general good vibes once we secure that pick. And I certasinly agree that we'll see some "interesting" roster manageemnt moves as the season progresses
If we get Andrew Luck, there's going to be a RIDICULOUS amount of promo surrounding him. Luckily, maturity is not an issue for him, or I'd be worried if he could handle it.
Kiper today on ESPN Radio flat out stated that we (Dolphins fans) should absolutely root for losses, as Luck is the best prospect he has ever graded
Well, as I pointed out in Club, Daboll basically made Hillis, we have 3 guys who can carry the rock, DSL, if Dtrain goes down Slaton getting carries is not the end of the world. But overall, Sage over Garrard=Suck for Luck, or they have a Love Jones. I've watched MMoore play, he can be great, or he can hold the ball to long and rack up sacks, so the decision to sign Rosenfels (that I suspected would happen but only if Henne was out for a month or so) over Garrard and relying on Moore does not bespeak of "win now".
I get the impression that Garrard thinks he is worth somewhere near the 9 million he was set to receive. He is obviously asking for too much money or he would not still be sitting on his couch.
