I have to give Henne props, he busted his *** trying to learn a new system as well as helping his teammates learn that system. I wish him luck whereever he goes. We already have VD on this team.
Sad news whether you're a Henne fan or not. I wanted him to prove once and for all this season whether he had it or didn't.
Yes I know.... some of you think the concept of player development is simply a myth. What happens if Luck is drafted by us and he .............. struggles? How long does he have to learn the NFL game?
I've heard of an embarrassment of riches, but rich with embarrassments? Poor Chad, he can't even audition for another team this year. I think the Phins would be really stupid not to keep him next year. He was really turning the corner and would be a good stand in for anyone coming in next year. Worst case, he sucks but bides time for our rookie. Best case, he does well and either becomes a great backup or garners us a draft pick next year.
Chargers took down both Chads at San Diego. Same injury. Same ending. I give Henne some credit for trying his best on the team. But if the Phins drafts a QB, well, we'll know... Wish Henne for a speedy recovery.
Peyton Manning threw a million INT's his 1st season. Legitimate franchise QB's are given time. 2nd round bargain bin QB's are not.
That's just a flat out ignorant view. Any prospect that shows promise should be given time..... and those that are good FO's do just that. Thankfully the avg. couch fan dosen't make these decisions.
Yep.... There was a reason Drew Brees was passed 31 times Brett Favre passed over 32 times Matt Schaub passed over 89 times Joe Montana passed over 81 times Dan Marino passed over 27 times Tom Brady passed over 198 times Matt Hasselbeck passed over 186 times Rich Gannon passed over 97 times Warner and Romo passed over completely. There are more.... I could go on about all of these QB's no one should have seen as anything but a turd. The idiots that actually put time into developing these QB's. What were they thinking? I'm not saying Henne would ever equal any of the highest level QB's in talent above but he could certainly reach the status of a Gannon or Hasselbeck. Your statment above about teams passing over Henne equating to him or any player not making it is incredibly simplistic.
Henne was among the top of his class of QBs. Think of how many people can actually play QB well in the NFL, there isn't even 32 of them. Henne is no hall of famer but he has shown that he will compete decently. Its just too bad this season wasn't decisive as to whether he can be a good consistent QB or not...
Awesome. All we have to do is start Henne 10 more years and we'll have our Franchise quarterback. Just be patient Dolphin fans. Drew Brees' replacement was drafted before he became good. Favre had a good first year starting. Schaub sat on the bench for 3 years. So let's Bench Henne. Montana never threw for more INT's than TD's in an era the DB's were allowed to ride the receivers doggystyle down the field. Dan. I don't dare blaspheme. Tom. Instant success. Hasselbeck - Showed success, as defined by more TD's than INT's, his second year starting. Gannon - so henne should be good in 2020. Warner - Henne needs to bag groceries and play in the Arena league. Then come back. Romo -Watched from the sidelines for 3 years. So basically you're saying, we need to bench Henne so he can watch for 3 years. Or draft his replacement. Fine with me.
I was just trying to say Henne isnt a great QB, but without drafting in the first round, he is most likely the best you are gonna get digging for bargains.
