I'm watching Madison live. He is saying that the little thing are killing this team. He is with W Allen, who is saying that we do those things in practice but, in games, not so, these guys are very young and getting anxious in games. Madison is saying that these guys just need to relax, and then they will make plays. They are both looking for Gates and DT to be something special.
If you can find it, Sammie, Stradford and Drayton in Friday's Finsiders broadcast had the whole 2 hours to themselves to seriously discuss what is going wrong with the team, they called out everyone: -Jimmy Wilson was coached on not to allow seperation down on the sidelines, which his failure to do so turned into the GW TD in Cleveland -Called out Brandon Marshall, basically said he was stinking up the place, and the coaches and his teammates were allowing him to do so, there being no real leaders on offense there is no one to really call him out. -called out Lexxy, Drayton and Stradford said Shula would run him in practice until he threw up for messing up the play that got Henne injured -called out Colombo as well, Drayton, who watches Te's said Fasano has been absent in the offense because he is helping Colombo. -Drayton said, point blank, with the Rams guys were literally packing up their apartment by week #12, and what it was like going through a coaching change in season. He went further and said with Henne out they have to run the ball to have any chance of winning. That was the best, most realistic over view of what has been happening this yr.
This in particular is especially concerning / upsetting. I cant help but feel like that one poor signing / lack of a good signing is hurting this team more than anyone realizes.
So it is Henne's fault, at least that is still the call around here... Just for the record I am being sarcastic...
I think a bigger error in judgement is refusal to acknowledge that he was a bad decision, a mistake and is not doing what he was signed to do. Why they refuse to acknowledge that he is no more than what he was labeled as last year is hard to understand. One bad OL can make an otherwise average line look terrible.
I can't see why it would be such a bad idea to move Vern back to his old position. He's spent his entire career playing there, and has to know the position in his sleep. He has to be better than Colombo. Vern and the best backup guard we have would probably make the OL better than it is now, and we have the bye week to work it in. What ticks me off is that at 0-4, it's time to start experimenting. It is downright stupid to stick with your mistakes.
The big unsaid about that is, John Jerry, he kinda sucks so far, as per usual with this crew. We peddled Satele and wound up with Shawn Murphy, we passed on Jimmy Graham and Tony Maoeki for John Jerry. That has led to Carey being moved to RG and Colombo being signed.
At this point in both of their careers Carey is definitely a better option than Columbo and I truly believe that Carey was moved to guard to make room for Columbo at RT. Columbo was just a bad pickup and I guess because of their past relationship in Dallas they refuse to accept the fact.
Like most fans, we don't expect the HC to throw the team or players under the bus... But what we do as fans expect is that he can say, that they can all play better than they have this year... Don't keep feeding this b******p and keep saying that they are playing well...
Everything is Henne's fault... you should know that by now... My baseball team lost a championship game yesterday, we committed 11 errors (very uncharacteristic for us) in 5 innings. I blamed Henne after the game....
The irony here is I tried ad nauseam to tell everyone that Marshall is a fraud and no one would listen. Anyone want to call me a hater or tell me I'm wrong now?
I realize radio guys hardly ever get held to any degree of accountability, but it isn't really true. PFF has him with 21 pass protection snaps vs. 136 routes run. If anything, I think that they should be doing it much more than they are.
killerphins, I somewhat agree , yet i was hoping that we could have drafted DEZ so we wouldnt have to give up so much to get marshall. The bigger thing is we havent really used B.M enough and the fact we keep havng a lack of a identity doesn't help Marshall get into a grove.
Killer, You're a hater, and you're always wrong. JK/LOL You should consider changing your name to Loverphins, and all will be well, although I cannot speak for your personal life.
Marshall is on track to be targeted 160 times this year, and you say "not enough?" I disagree, and say it's too much, especially for what he's done.
That would be..me...you are wrong about BM, I've said I'd bench him, and he has not earned his 10 millie per yr salary, that does not mean he cannot play and be great for us.
Dick Lebeau once was the Head Coach of the Bengals and after a loss to the Dolphins in 2000 he said.... "It's not what you can do or what you should do but what you do do." Brandon ain't getting it done pal. Plain and simple.
