For new posters, this is a thread I started putting up last year. It's intent is for nothing but Dolphins Good News, the silver linings regardless of game's outcomes. It is one of countless threads but, the only one saying that if you don't have anything good to say, say on another thread. Our team is NOT making this thread easy. However, it is still our team and there will always be some positives here. Here we go. Yeremiah Bell turned into a Prince last night with 7 tackles, and 5 stops. It was great to see the frog gone. Dansby played, by far, his best game with 5 tackles and a sack. Misi was not MISIng, and played well with a sack. Have to question JT taking so much f his playing time. Soliai had a few tackles, and was solid. Incognito had his best game, playing very well. Long was pretty good, by his standards, and may be playing back to form. Carey also was pretty good. Columbo did not SUCK. Lex Hilliard chimed in a bit. "Little Jimmy Wilson" had a really nice tackle. "Starvin Marvin" Mitchell had 4 tackles. LEX, Little Jimmy, and Starvin Marvin are favorites of mine, and will be here every week if they do anything good. That's all I got. Anyone else?
-thought Reggie Bush had his best game for us, 7 carries, 71 yds -thought the D finally looked good, 17 pts surrendered, 3 were on Bess's fumbled punt return
I thought Burnett played well. His best game as a Dolphin. He covered Keller decently well and the time Keller made a 20 yard reception, Sanchez had a minute and a half to figure out who to pass to.
Thanks Padre, should have included Bush. Still trying to get over one hell of a hangover from last night/this morning.
Bush had 10 for 71 but 36 came on one play leaving him with a more Bush-like 9 for 35. Still I like what they did with him getting him in space where he belong. Get him the ball 12-15x a game between carries catches and punt returns and he should get you about 125 yards (much of which will come on returns). Get him out at the flanker spot and Id bet he has better hands then Marshall.
Well, 0-5, is what it is, did see somethings improve and Sparano was talking about benching some guys..finally. No Show Jones played better, but on the Nacho Qb sneak, the jest sent a rb out to wr, moving Dansby out to cover him, Jones shaded that way to help Dansby, Nacho read it and just took off up the middle for the TD. I hope Clemons is finally healthy enough to play FS, that would help the D as Jones "big play" ability is like Santa or the Easter Bunny, you hear a lot about them, no one has ever actually seen the real thing.
Well it looked like Jones might have hurt is knee when the ref got plowed into him. Maybe we see Clemons this week?
I should also mention Sean Smith. He was only thrown at 2 times, giving up 0 catches. Teams have only thrown at him 24 times in 5 games. To compare, Revis has been thrown at 28 times. They stayed away from him last year as well. He would be highly ranked but, he has given up 3 TDs. I believe 2 of those were communication breakdowns. I'm pretty happy with him but, he HAS to start catching ints. I am really hoping that he and Davis come together to be what we all expected of them this year, and are mentioned weekly for some Good News.
Hearing Ty Culver was playing FS in practice, not wild about Culver but he can be expected to, you know, know the defense well enough to actually be effective...
Our D started the game with 4 straigh 3 and outs giving up 11 yards total. SS24 didn't disappoint with giving us another game with a dropped INT.
IT AIN'T EASY SC. However, some players are doing some good things, and deserve to be mentioned on a weekly basis. For me, it seems like the right thing to do. Then again, I always took the road less traveled. At least, most of the time.
