Mark "Bison" Smith was found dead in Puerto Rico. Massive heart attack at 38. You may be asking why this is news. Well, besides being a fairly successful indy wrestler...he is also one of the guys that trained me for the squared circle and one of my mentors. Pretty much shocked by this, to be honest. Dude was in fantastic shape, the last time I saw him and seemingly led a healthy lifestyle. Im not naive enough to believe he was ever totally clean (hell...I'd be lying if I denied being there for some of it), but damn....38?

ROH from 2009. The first 6 minutes or so is just a bunch of interviews with guys some you may recognize like Daniel Bryan, (who was my other trainer) as well as a couple of guys you will see soon in the WWE. (Tyler Black and Claudio Castognoli) as well as a couple of alums, but they have a feature match with Bison Smith starting at around the 6:15 mark if you wanted to see the big man work. He worked a lot in Japan and Puerto Rico, and thus, he has that strong style of an early Vader or Stan Hanson. His Claw Slam was developed, by the way, in part on me as he was looking for a different finisher years ago and was going to go the powerbomb/chokeslam route.

We were messing around in the ring one night and he put me in the Claw. I was much smaller than Bison so for an added sell he picked me up and I bumped like I was taking a chokeslame, despite still being in the claw. We both kind of knew we had something at that point. From there, it actually was given to Dalip Singh (The Great Khali) to use, and Bison went with a simple (but brutal) lariat. A lariat, mind you, that I HATED taking from him. He was going to hit you regardless of your timing.

Looks like Morrison is gone from the WWE, his contract runs out on Monday and he was 'killed off' on Zack Ryder's YouTube show. Hopefully TNA doesn't drop the ball with him either. It's really too bad the WWE buried him so much, he could have been a star. He's got the look and the move set, just the wrong girlfriend.

Yeah I could never figure out why they didn't bother doing anything with him. He always got a good crowd reaction.

Daniel Bryan is really growing on me. They're doing a good job prepping him for a future run with the WHC.

Morrison got a lot of heat because of Melina, his girlfriend. She was very disliked backstage and apparently cheated on Morrison with a number of other wrestlers but Morrison never stood up for himself to her or the other guys so he was looked down upon. Then there was the whole WM bit where Morrison and Melina were unhappy Trish Stratus was in a match instead of Melina and they both voiced their displeasure in it and Morrison pretty much ignored and was rude for Trish the entire time they were building to the match and during the match and that put even more heat on him. Then when the WWE fired Melina, Morrison again was unhappy and made comments about the firing, which put him in the dog house even further.

As for Bryan, I don't think how invested they truly are in him. Sure he might win the WHC once or twice (but mainly because everyone does nowadays) but I really think Sheamus is their guy on Smackdown now. So unless Bryan turns heel, I'm not sure there's a spot for him at the top, especially with Orton still around.

I do think the WWE has major plans for Ziggler in the very near future, and I can't say the guy hasn't earned it.

I never said he was their top guy, just that they're giving him a healthy push and have been for a couple of months or so. I'd like to see a feud between him and Christian even though Christian is apparently on vacation or something right now.

Christian is hurt. Bad ankle injury in Europe.

Morrison is apparently going to get squashed by Brodus Clay tonight for his exit. That is, if he doesn't no show.

Gotta ask, as I have always wondered about the "scripted" aspect of WWE, etc.....has anyone ever been so pissed they flipped the script and did not allow things to go according to plan?

Guess it would be career-ender (for being trusted by any of the league's, etc) if you didnt play along and be part of the team so to speak, but has anyone held a grudge or chip on their shoulder and say once the bell rings, F-this, and went against the plan????

Yes it's happened a few times before. The wrestler usually gets fired as soon as he gets to the dressing room and then is blackballed from the industry depending on how bad it is. There have been times during live TV matches that a wrestler isn't sticking to the script and is making another wrestler look bad on purpose.

Steven Regal against Goldberg is an example:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh2dtPO3d4Q

Regal was asked to make Goldberg look good and Regal decided to work rough with him to try and make Goldberg look tougher but because Goldberg was so green at that point he came off looking awkward. Regal was fired afterwards.

Then you can get a gem like this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boVOowzV794

Doink just refuses to work the match.

Poor Sin Cara, first he hurts his knee and is out 6 to 9 months and now his t-shirt got pulled because it wasn't PG friendly.

Here's the picture, see if you can spot what's wrong with it:

Vince changed the script on Brett without telling him about it. If you've never heard the story you should check out the Brett Hart documentary. Brett was sticking to what he thought was the plan, it turned out Vince had had different plans all along.

There are plenty of instances of wrestlers going off the reservation, so to speak. Pillman's is probably the most fascinating because the whole thing was SUPPOSED to be a work that only he and Bischoff knew about, yet, he did the character so well that Bischoff legit let him walk, thinking he was insane and unreliable. And thus the unraveling of Pillman as a human being, began.

Gail Kim walked out on a match on Raw earlier this year and got herself released, which is what she wanted anyways.

Jeff Jarrett laid down to Hulk Hogan on a PPV which wasn't planned either. And of course, plenty of times where wrestlers have stiffed the holy **** out of the other one for various reasons. If you ever find the Manny Fernandez kneedrop of death from a show in Puerto Rico, that is probably the BIGGEST off script moment in the history of Pro Wrestling. Damn near killed the man (and for good reason).

And the Sin Cara shirt was pulled due to...ahem...a suggestive design on his tights in a certain area. The best joke I have heard so far is that even his shirts are botched. The fact that its called "Dripping with Gold," slays me too.

Meh. The basic premise was right. Things change all the time. Makes more sense for Miz to continue garnering heat and send his old partner out...just like he sent his new partner out the week before.

I think its time for Zack Ryder to get new theme music. Still keep the Woo, Woo, Woo but he needs a better pump up song instead of a boy band type one. I'm actually surprised the WWE hasn't changed it yet.

This is what I envision for wrestlemania for Taker...if they keep building heat on Kane and making him the badass monster he should be then why not have what should be Takers retirement match to be against a character made in his image? Either was it ends at the end you have Kane get down on one knee and have the lights go low as to say the phenom "torch" has been passed on so to speak.,,,just an idea.

I don't know, Undertaker vs. Kane WM Match 3? I don't think it has any selling power, plus why waste/end the streak with Kane at this point in time? If they're going to end it (I say never have them end it that way you can always bring him back for a 1 time match that could be a seller, with the streak being over there's no draw to it) give the rub to someone they know is going to be around for awhile like a Cena (I know, I know), Orton, Punk, Sheamus etc. I'd rather them give Henry or someone different the spot instead of the same tired feud. Plus let's face it Kane/Taker matches stunk in 1998 and 2000, they could only get worse at this point. Undertaker needs someone to help carrying him to a good match.

Not sure if that's a compliment of not but thanks (I think). Haha. Yeah I started watching it when I was 5 or 6 and just fell in love with it. I stopped watching it every week and ordering the PPVs once I got to college (I haven't ordered a PPV since) and kind of took a break from it until I got out then started watching on and off until about 2007ish when I started watching every Monday. I don't follow it nearly as much as I used to (I'll only watch RAW no TNA and only clips of Smackdown) but I still read up on it and keep up to date with things just because I always have. I don't like it nearly as much as I used to but will still put on a wrestling video or DVD and can watch the old stuff for hours.

But I love talking about baseball, wrestling, movies and TV shows and will talk about each for hours if I could.
