I would not have a problem with what the first poster said because I believe you win in the trenches. IF your OL dominate so will the rest of your offense. Having said that, If they sign Nicks I would not be opposed to having Jerry start at RT. I thought he did a very good job filling in at the end of the season. I think he has worked himself from a bubble guy to a potential starter.
The weakest position on the team is RT BY far. I agree they need to add a pass rusher but not ahead of the RT position. Now if they feel Jerry can start there then I am good with that.
Goldson would be my choice out of that group... probably third guy on my list after Nicks and Maybin (who I think has figured out what it takes to play in the NFL.
It would be nice if Ireland hit on this pick and he can turn into a solid RT, and use our 1st pick on a stud playmaker.
LE-Cam Wake DT-Jared Odrick DT-Randy Starks RE-Mario Williams LOLB-Koa Misi MLB- Karlos Dansby ROLB-Kevin Burnett I'd like Koa on the left (strong) side backing Wake to help with run defense, since it is Koa's strongest suit, and not Wake's best one.
Best ball athlete: Goldson. Best all around: Griffin. Best against the run: Branch. Toughest to pass against: Nelson. Most likely to prevent big plays: Griffin. Meaning: Goldson has the most ints. Griffin is solid in all aspects, allows the least YAC and yards per catch. Branch has the least missed tackles and the highest number of "stops", ranking 6th in the league. Lowest passer rating was in Nelson's coverage, with a 72 rating. Another safety I'd be happy with is Jim Leonhard. He is strong against the pass with passers only having a 55 rating into his coverage. 7th among safeties in that regard.
