New York (GML-AP) – After playing in two straight AFC Championship games the New York Jets found themselves on the outside looking as they dropped three straight to end the season and watch the dream of playing in the Superbowl evaporate.

Once again the Jets find themselves in the growing shadow of the New York Giants. Who not only gave the Jets a thorough thrashing in week 16 at home, but who now find themselves going back to the Superbowl against the Patriots.

However there seems to be a light coming on the horizon as a shake up in the front office is expected with Mike Tennenbaum expected to step down this offseason. Owner Woody Johnson tired of Jim Isray getting all the attention from his perennial playoff bound team cleaning house after one bad season has decided to follow suit.

The question remains, will Rex Ryan be joining the likes of Jim Caldwell and Hue Jackson after new General Managers were hired to their perspective teams?

New York Jets introduce new General Manager and coaching changes

    10 hours, 8 minutes ago

New York (GML-AP) – Jets owner Woody Johnson introduced new General Manager Ryan Schisno Tuesday afternoon after a brisk search due to the abrupt resignation of Mike Tannenbaum after a disappointing 8-8 season.

Ryan Schisno spent the last two seasons as a personnel man in Minnesota and New England, but will now have to decide who stays and who goes like locker room headache Santonio Holmes, or the much chastised Mark Sanchez, and return his team back to the AFC Championship.

Except the Jets will have to do it without the seasons offensive co ordinator as Brian Schottenheimer elected to resign from his post. Not wasting any time making his mark Schisno also announced Rex Ryan will not be returning as head coach of the New York Jets.

“It's my job to put the best team I can on the field, and it's also my responsibility to have the right man in place to lead that to a Superbowl.” Ryan Schisno said. “I love having confidence and bravado as much as the next guy, but you have to have accountability when you fail to meet expectations. Today I made those responsible accountable.”

“I want football players on this team. This is not a part time job while you model, or take your girlfriend of the week to the prom.”

Less than an hour on the job and the new General Manager is making necessary changes to get the Jets out of the shadow of the other hometown team, and the jewel of the AFC East, the New England Patriots and their Hall of Fame bound quarterback and coach.

Dolphins announce stunning front office changes - Todd Bowles future in limbo

In a stunning turn of events, the Miami Dolphins today introduced German native Julius Kohler as the team's new general manager.

Julius Kohler spent the last seven years in charge of a bratwurst factory in Stuttgart, Germany. He has no prior experience in either professional or collegiate football, but Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is said to be intrigued by Kohler's "no-nonsense approach" and the fact that "Kohler could easily drink Joe Namath under the table and then go out and do the same to a party of Russian mobsters". In his prepared statement, Ross also said that Kohler's interview went extremely well, "especially when taking into account how intoxicated he was".

Kohler is expected to hold an introductory press conference later this week. It is tentatively scheduled for Friday, but according to a team source, the time table is still subject to change, depending on when Kohler sobers up. "Don't let his love for beer fool you", the same team source told this paper. "The dude knows football, and I'm not just paid to say that."

As of today, multiple league sources with serious hangovers indicated, Kohler has not yet made up his mind regarding Todd Bowles future as the team's head coach. "He'll keep a close eye on who's available", one source said. "Brian Daboll and Mike Nolan might or might not be back", a second league source added. "He'll only make a change if he's certain that a better candidate is available."

New Franchise Record Hits the League

    1 hour, 2 minutes ago

New York (GML-AP) – The Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012, but it appears that the prediction better explains the changes going around in the league as all the owners have let go of their top personnel men. A record thirty two new general managers have been introduced in the last week, and a record thirteen of them have elected to fire their head coaches.

This years coaching carousel looks more like the one found in the National Hockey League each season as forty percent of teams look for head coaches. The most coming out of the AFC East where Buffalo, New York and Miami are looking to overhaul their teams to compete with the highly successful New England Patriots.

The NFC will only see five teams change head coaches, with the NFC East holding the most sought after jobs in Dallas and Philadelphia where they have playoff caliber teams. Meanwhile the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St Louis Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts round out the bottom of the league this year.

However the Browns offer the chance at a quick turn around with two first round picks, while the Colts are expected to take Andrew Luck in the playoffs. It remains to be seen which of these thirteen teams will walk away the winner as new coaches are introduced within the next couple of weeks.

    Manning to NFC?

Indianapolis (GML-AP) – With Jim Isray calling out Peyton Manning for his comments the rumors of the Colts greatest quarterback are starting to heat up. It's been rumored that new General Manager GridIronKing has had talks with several teams about the availability of Manning.

It is expected that some preliminary talks with a pair of NFC East have taken place indicating the Cowboys have offered Tony Romo and Laurent Robinson for the hall of fame bound quarterback. The source within the Redskins organization has indicated a third round pick, and Santana Moss has been offered.

Will Manning move from the AFC and become the second best quarterback in the NFC? With a rift growing between the Colts owner and Manning it could happen very early in the offseason.

Jeff Fisher Set To Be Bronco's Headcoach

    by

    The Denverpostit

GREENWOOD VILLAGE - The Denver Broncos just announced that both John Fox and Mike McCoy will not be back next season. Only days after firing Dennis Allen, new General Manager PSG will have a clean slate to work with. It is expected that Jeff Fisher will be interviewed and offered the head coaching job with the Broncos.

PSG spent last season working with the Colts and has ties to working with Fisher. It remains to be seen if there are any other teams vying for the former Titans coach. There were speculations that PSG had hoped to put together a coaching staff that involved Fisher as the head coach, Clyde Christensen as his offensive co-ordinator and Lovie Smith as the defensive co-ordinator in Indianapolis last year.

Fisher will be working with former first rounder Tim Tebow in building off this seasons success of making it to the second round of the playoffs. Questions will arise on whether Fisher can develop Tebow into the next Steve McNair rather than Vince Young.

    Jets Hire Packers Ben McAdoo

Oneida, Wisconsin (GML-AP) – The New York Jets have come to an agreement with Packers Tight End coach Ben McAdoo to become their next head coach. An up and coming coach who had an opportunity to become offensive coordinator for Green Bay will instead taking the helm of a team that disappointed and finished 8-8 last season.

“He's a guy that can not only develop players but his ability with the X's and O's will surprise a lot of people out there. We've got our guy and you can expect the same success we've had the last few years.” Ryan Schisno said at the news conference.

McAdoo has not held a coordinator position before his new posts but the Jets have hired Norv Turner to help turn the struggling offense around. Known for his quarterback friendly offense, Turner is expected to help Mark Sanchez get over his slump this season. Expect big things out of Shonn Greene as Turner helped featured backs on each of his stop to big seasons.
