Jericho didnt win the Rumble for the same exact reason you guys are talking about. Everyone expected him to. All three announcers being in the rumble was good IMO. The pop Road Dogg got was great. The crowd was great which for me makes the event better. The guys react better to good crowds. Ricardo was awesome, the entrance was great. I do however wish Golddust would have came out and eliminated Cody. That is an incomplete story line that could have taken a great turn here. But again, I like that I cant figure out what WWE creative will do next.

Hey the creative team has no idea where things are going next either, and it shows in the product.

Again though there's nothing wrong with things being predictable as long as it tells a good story. I mean just look at Austin vs. McMahon feud, you knew it was going to end with Austin winning (the predictable part) but it was the ride in between that made it so great. Just look at movies, take a hero, let's say Batman, you know in the end Batman is going to stop the villain, that's the predictable part, but it's the ride and the ups and downs the hero takes that makes the movie great. Does knowing just the outcome automatically ruin the movie? If I were to tell you before you saw The Dark Knight, that in the end Batman would stop The Joker's plan and throw him in prison would that have made seeing the movie less enjoyable?

If the WWE had Jericho win the Rumble but the way he won was something creative/new/different/exciting/good would people really complain that it was an obvious finish? I'd highly doubt it. If Jericho won the match without touching a single wrestler and luck his way into winning the storyline possiblies are endless and it would put even more heat on him. By Sheamus winning it, while again I'm happy he won since it was someone new, what does it actually do for his character? It's just the same boring old "predictable" WM storyline right? It's kind of a Catch 22 if you think about it. Being unpredictable can sometimes do more harm than good too.

I haven't watched wrestling in 4 years, and 4 years ago Cena was booed as much as he was cheered.

PWInsider is reporting that the original plan was to have Jericho win but it was changed to Sheamus to surprise people. So there you go.

RAW Elimination Chamber Match has already been announced and will feature: CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, R-Truth & Kofi Kingston.

Looks like Kofi's handstand RR performance put him in the main event for this month anyway. You have to figure Cena will face Kane again. Maybe Zack Ryder vs. Jack Swagger for the US Title.

If I were to guess the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match will most likely feature: Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Randy Orton, The Big Show, Wade Barrett and Mark Henry (if he's able to health wise, if not maybe Cody Rhodes).

Just doing random things for the sake of 'surprising people' is lazy writing in my opinion. Surprise people with your creative and well thought out story lines.

While the return of The Undertaker was a great surprise, can someone please tell me why The Undertaker would challenge Triple H yet again at WM after he already has beaten him twice, and the last time was just last year? Especially since in previous years The Undertaker refused Shawn's 2nd match at first and last year originally refused Triple H.

9. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

My guess is that Untertaker is responding to HHH's retort after last year's WM match tha tonly one of them left standing (HHH) and if he was up for it, HHH would be waiting for him next year. Taker has been gone ever since so I assume he is going to build on that (plus you know...being stretchered out is sort of embarrassing if you are Taker).

I did like that HHH seemed to laugh it off and walk away like he had nothing to prove to Taker. Interesting storytelling in my opinion. I am willing to wait and see. Although, I would much rather have Taker challenge someone else other than HHH for a third time, but oh well.

And did he refuse HHH last year? I thought he did the whole throat slash/eye roll thingy pretty early on after his return, no?

Jericho finally getting inovlved was good too. If I was him, I would continue to promise that the world would change each week, and then interfere with Punk again, until Punk finally takes notice.

All in all, I am MORE than okay with a Wrestlemania that looks to put on the following five matches:

Rock vs. Cena
Punk vs. Jericho
Bryan vs. Sheamus (I do think this will change)
Undertaker vs. HHH
Kharma vs. Beth Phoenix (my hope anyway)

I also wouldn't mind seeing a returning (but still injured and more serious) Ryder face off agains tKane in some sort of gimmick match that allows for the return of Pete Rose to attack Kane and FINALLY get his revenge in helping Ryder take out the Big Red Machine.

I actually liked the whole Taker challenging HHH and HHH basically saying no dice where it is not putting his personal issues above his job. And Taker wants to face HHH because he is the only man to force him to WrestleMania on a stretcher, even though I too rather see a different match.

When Undertaker returned last Feb, he was in the ring, Triple H interrupted him pointed to the WM logo and the Undertaker kind of half smiled and started to leave the ring, Triple H stopped him, did the DX chop and then the Undertaker did the throat slashing sign. So it seems I might have got some of it mixed up with HBK's angle with him.

And yes WM on paper right now looks great. And I agree with you unfortunately I'd be surprised if Bryan walks into WM as the Champ defending against Sheamus. Most likely Orton will win the EC and title and Sheamus will challenge him. Which is a shame since WM is going to sell on Rock/Cena alone, so the WM can afford to take risks and let guys like Bryan get a spotlight on them.

I thought RAW was really good last night though, definitely the best RAW in 2012. And I forgot to mention how bad the Undertaker's wig looked. I wonder if they just let him use Kane's wig for now.

I must be getting better at predicting stuff, I told my wife that undertaker was going to come out and 5 minutes later there he was with a stupid looking wig on. looks like JL will keep his job for a little longer while the UT/HHH storyline plays out. Jericho and punk are going to fued over the moniker of who is the best in the world, should have some excellence matchs betweens those 2. Alvarez said on there website that karma had her baby on new years eve.

I was actually expecting Triple H to put Johnny Ace through the ringer and at the very end tell him he's still got the job for now, thus turning Triple H slightly heel in order to build to his WM match with either The Undertaker or CM Punk (which was a rumored new opponent for Triple H going around last week). The Undertaker coming out was a nice touch but they need to keep their feud fresh and with both men seemingly not going to work a match until WM I think they might have shot their wad a bit early. You can only have so many stare downs and interviews before fans get bored of it all, especially when the build to Rock/Cena will be almost the same thing or just interviews and stare downs.

14. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Rock is actually scheduled for about five of six Raws leading up to WM, so it owuldn't surprise me if he gets somewhat physical with either Cena or someone else on the roster.

I think it would be hilarious is the day after Elimination Chamber, that Kane comes down, only to be interrupted by the Rock who walks to the ring, punches Kane a few times, Rock Bottoms him and then walks off. The next week he simply blasts Cena for hemming an dhawing and not taking care of business like the Rock did the week before. He could even tie it in to why he doesn't need ot be there each week because the Rock handles his business like a man, quickly and distinctively, instead of like a little 12 year old girl like Cena, who shows up each week, making face sinto the camera like he has the runs, writes in a diary, and acts like a little *****, week in and week out.

Could be an awesome promo.

I wonder if the WWE would have The Rock actually wrestle on RAW or not. Imagine the rating the WWE could get if they ran a Rock/Cena vs. Triple H/Taker or CM Punk/Jericho tag team match up? You think he'd have to step into the ring even if it was a squash match against a Curt Hawkins/Drew McIntyre just to try and get a boost in the ratings.

16. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Rock would have to team with Jericho and Punk with Cena.

Punk's promos against the old guard and Rock's retorts could carry a segment almost by itself. I read a piece today by a guy who titled it "10 things I wish the WWE would do."

One of his premises was that the focus on singles wrestling, especially at PPVs has hurt the product long term. He cited the Canadian Stampede 10 man tag as an example, and it got me thinking, outside of the Survivor Series this past year, when was the last time a PPV main event was a tag match, of any sort? Sure, you have the Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber, and even MitB, but those are inherently about singles wrestlers aiming to achieve a personal goal.

If you are able to nab The Rock for a PPV match beyond Wrestlemania, it would be pretty cool to headline the following one with the above tag team match.

Also, how many consistent posters do we have in this thread? I was thinkin that if we have five to seven, that we could assign a number to each poster and that post picks a match to be had at Wrestlemania. The rules are that you have to use existing WWE talent (i.e. no TNA surprise wrestlers, Brock, Austin, etc.), they have to be on the main roster (no FCW guys or long term injured ones) and once said person chooses a wrestler, they cannot be re-used.

So for example, is Finkle drew #1: He might choose to book Punk vs. Jericho for the title. If I drew #2, I could book whatever else, outside of those two peeps.

You CAN book tag matches and triple threats, but the above rules still apply in no double bookings, and only current people.

Along with the match, provide a justification and a short fantasy booking from the point you chose the match, on.

Anyone in?

The last tag team main event appears to be Summer Slam 2010 which was Team WWE vs. The Nexus in an elimination tag team match, before that it was at the Dec 2009 at TLC which was DX vs. Jeri-Show, and before that at the HiaC 2009 PPV it was DX vs. Legacy in a HiaC match. But those were gimmick type matches. So the last straight up tag team match that main evented a PPV was in 2007 at No Way Out which was John Cena & Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker and Batista. Just a little fun fact, the last time an elimination tag team match main evented Survivor Series was in 2005.

Regarding the Rock/Jericho/Cena/Punk tag team thing. The reason I'm thinking of having Rock/Cena team up and Punk/Jericho or HHH/Taker team up is so that you don't give away The Rock wrestling Cena on free TV, even if it's only for a brief time. Plus I think the storylines would be more interesting if you team up the WM opponents.

And sure I'll do the WM thing.

With the Elimination Chamber coming up soon I wanted to share one of my favorite WWE Experiences. When I was living back in NY I went to Albany with a few friends to watch New Years Revolution in 2006. There the main event was an Elimination Chamber match between John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Carlito, Kurt Angle, Chris Masters, Kane in an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship. There I saw history when Edge cashed in the very first MITB and shocked the world!

Here is actually footage I shot when he won the title!

After the event I met Mike Hampton who happen to be in attendances, pitcher for the Mets at the time, and his wife
[IMG]
Me and my buddy, i am on the left. I was probably 15 here. Anyway, Mike and his wife gave me and my buddy one of the PPV chairs that you get to keep if you pay for the expensive seats. To this day, this is my greatest Wrestling Moment! Almost getting run over Beniot is second and being at the show were CM Punk did his famous promo... Speaking of Punk, I met him back in 07 i believe at an event, and the only thing I had on me for him to sign was a ticket stub of an old XFL NY/NJ Hitman ticket, idk why I had it with me, anyway I asked him to sign it, he was so shocked that someone still had these...I have that ticket stub somewhere

Christian vs The Undertaker. Surprisingly these two only faced 1 on 1 one time, ending in the Undertaker winning via DQ. Christian does some history as he was a member of the Ministry with Taker.

Christian career really took off this year, and with time, a cool story could be built between Taker and Christian. Christian has never faced Taker 1 on 1 and those two can put on a hell of a match together.

With Booking the match I would have revamp the past year in the WWE. Christian was build as a week champion, never getting a clean victory over Randy Orton. I would have started building up Christian when he lost the title to Orton, only a few days after he originally won it.

Look how distraught he looked. He just lost something he worked so hard. Christian says off TV for a while and comes back determine to win the title back from Orton, only to fail. He gets frustrated and looses his mind. Edge comes back to talk to Christian trying to help him get out of his funk. Edge helps Christian win a number 1 contenders match for the title. While they are in the ring celebrating, Christian hits the Unprettier on Edge and turns heel. Christian then beats Randy Orton in a NO DQ Match by just going crazy on Orton, wins the title, and start a nice run as Champion. Christian then becomes a Main Eventer and a real threat in the WWE. He eventually looses the title, and cuts a promo that he has done it all in the WWE. He is a 2x World Heavyweight Champion, 2x ECW Champion, 3x IC Champ, 9x Tag Team Champs, European Champ, Hardcore Champ, Light Heavyweight Champ, the 11th Grand Slam Champion in WWE History. There is one thing he can do to add to his resume, to be the only man ever to beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania. Something Edge could never do. He can say that the Undertaker has beaten them all, but there is one man in the WWE that he has never pinned, and that man is himself.

WrestleMania it's Christian vs The Undertaker

I got to go with CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho for the WWE title.

I'd have Jericho come out on RAW and explain why he attacked CM Punk last Monday and cut this promo: "I was enjoying my 2nd retirement from wrestling, that I loved touring with my band Fozzy and had no intentions of coming back to wrestling. I have a family, a band, a new career in the music business. Hell I didn't even watch wrestling until June/July whenever that RAW was that Punk cut that game changing promo. I was sitting on my tour bus waiting to go on stage when I flipped on RAW for the hell of it and saw Punk call himself "The Best in the World". I kind of laughed to myself, thought it was cute that one of my lines, one of my catchphrases was being used. I thought Punk was simply giving a shout out to me, after all I was one of the only CM Punk fans in the WWE. I was one of the few boys in the back that was begging the powers that be to give the guy a shot. So I did what what any wrestling fan did, I ordered the MiTB PPV and saw Punk step into the spotlight, take the ball and run with it. You know what else I saw? I saw him steal MY moves, MY lines, MY advice and go straight to the top of the WWE. I saw it all without a single mention of me, a single thank you. A single call or text message. I was disrespected by CM Punk. So you know what? I thought to myself it was time to step back into the ring, to save the WWE again. Because CM Punk isn't anything but a complete phony and hypocrite. He says he's not a role model but the truth is, he looks down on everyone that doesn't fit his straight edge lifestyle. He says he wants to change the WWE but he's adding to the problem. Picking on a 50 something year old GM, a 60 year old owner? Yeah real tough. Plus been there, done that I guess you weren't paying attention in the late 90s to Stone Cold Steve Austin. You want to change the WWE? Well, when are you going to? What are you going to do differently? You steal my catchphrases, my moves, other people's gimmicks. You want to talk about changing the WWE? I did. I was the first ever undisputed WWE champion. I beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in a single night. What have you done? Hell you can't even get the WWE to make you those ice cream bars again. I was the first ever grand slam winner. I was the WCW Cruiserweight champion, the WCW TV champion, the WCW World champion, the WWE Intercontential Champion, the WWE Hardcore Champion, the WWE Tag Team Champion, the WWE European Champion, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the WWE World Champion. I beat legends like The Rock, Austin, Foley, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Edge, Ricky Steamboat, Piper. Who have you beaten? What have you done to crown yourself "best in the world"? The problem with you Punk is that you need to say something to get attention. Me? I got bigger and better reactions by not saying a single word for 3 straight weeks. For 3 straight weeks I had these fans, your fans, in the palm of my hands. I got more of a reaction by doing absolutely nothing but smile, wave and slap hands. You? Well you had to whine about how you weren't on lunch boxes. I'm sick of guys talking about changing things yet, nothing has. You're all talk Punk. Me? I don't have to say a single word."

CM Punk then comes out, he talks about how the fans were only cheering because they thought he was dead. How the fans cheered Kevin Nash too when he came back but after 20 minutes remembered oh it's Kevin Nash, he sucks and stopped caring. While Jericho was singing his love ballads with his hair band he was too busy being the "best in the world". Sure Jericho said that phrase but the problem is while when he said it it was true in 2009, it's 2012 and the business has past him by. But he sure as hell hopes Jericho sticks to his plan about not talking anymore because he liked him better when all he did was smile and run around the arena like Forrest Gump. Jericho goes to attack Punk, only Punk gets the better of him.

Cut to the Elimination Chamber, where Jericho and Punk are the last two guys in the chamber, they both have chairs and hit each other at the same time, both guys fall on top of each other and the ref counts to 3 but because both of their shoulders were down, it's a draw so Punk retains.

Jericho comes out on RAW whining about how Punk is still the Champion and that the ref should have restarted the match. That he's the uncrowned champion. Punk comes out, says he too wish the match would have continued because he would have loved to get Jericho back into the chamber but there's this WM show coming up and he'd love to finally settle the score. Jericho agrees but wants to make it so there must be a winner, that a draw or count out or DQ is thrown out of the window. Punk agrees and nails Jericho with the belt.

The week before WM, Jericho and Punk are teamed up against another set of WM opponents, it's a good old school tag team match but it ends with the typical partners can't get along and Jericho and Punk get into an argument mid match and the match is thrown out when all 4 men start brawling with each other.

At WM, Jericho and Punk have a half hour 4 star match that ends with Jericho going for the Codebreaker, only to have Punk block it and pin him with a cradle pin.

Mine might surprise some but I am actually really intrigued by a match between.....

Kharma

VS.

The Glamazon Beth Pheonix

After her Rumble match they interview Beth Pheonix about her dominant showing, and as she is gloating the Rumble is taking place. When she hears Kharma's music she stops talking and her eyes are locked onto the screen in disgust as Kharma puts the implant buster on Ziggler. She then storms off. The following Raw after she destroys Eve she gets on the Mic and states she is tired of the lack of competition the Barbie dolls are NOT giving her. A long pause as the fans chant Kharmas name expecting her to call her out. When she yells out I want to challenge Dolph Ziggler for the U.S. Championship!! Vicki comes out and does her normal wretched talk and halfway through the confrontation Kharma comes out down to the ring. She enters the ring and gets face to face with Beth. Beth backs out of the ring and walks away glaring at Kharma as she leaves. Kharma then turns to Vicki and Implants her as the crowd goes crazy. So then for a couple of weeks both women will face random guys (marks) and demolish them (Santino, Kidd, etc) Until Teddy Long comes out 2 weeks prior to Wrestlemania and announces the two will face off at Wrestlemania in a match no woman has ever competed in before a TLC match!!! For the Divas belt!

My first match to select is going to be John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Title.

These two actually date back to their indy days when the "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson flew the APW banner against the Southern California based UPW, which was the learning grounds of a young John Cena who went by "The Prototype." The blood was legit bad between the two feds (I was also apart of APW) and the fact that UPW was officially a minor league territory for the WWE despite the widely held belief that APW had better talent stuck in a lot of the NorCal wrestler's craw...and would come into play here.

Cena disposes of Kane at the Royal Rumble and the next night on RAW he resets himself back on the Rock. He takes a mic and hits his usual PG smack in the ring, only to be interrupted by Bryan's music. Bryan walks to the ring, serious look on his face. He apologizes for interrupting Cena but...no one gives a damn about Cena and the Rock (boos) In case people didn't realize, Bryan is the champ, having beat both The Big Show AND Mark Henry in a cage match. He has been a fighting champion, taking on all comers and vanquishing them each time.

Cena tries to jump into the conversation, but Bryan tells him to "shut up!" He explains that he has known Cena for a long time and ot be quite honest, unlike CM Punk...Bryan doesn't like Cena...at all. He doesn't agree with his lifestyle, his poser image or the fact that the kids in the audience look up to him when they should be looking up to someone like himself. Afterall, he is a vegan and the very definition of hard work, personified.

Cena is confused and wonders how or why he hasn't liked him for so long when they have only known each other for a few years.

Bryan, drops the mic and has a look on his face of incredulity. He belts Cena with his title and starts beating the crap out of him, leaving Cena bloody in the ring.

The next week, Cena is still recovering and not in the arena, Bryan comes out on stage (not in the ring) with a powerpoint presentation (yes a powerpoint presentation) and explains his actions. You see, Bryan was trained by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. He was Shawn's best student and despite his pedigree, he was passed over for bodybuilding freaks who couldn't wrestle themselves out of a paper bag (as he does this, he clocks through photos of people like Chris Masters and people of his ilk). He was left to toil in high school gyms, airplane hangers and other disgusting small venues while these hacks cleared 10's of thousands of dollars of Vince's personal wealth, simply because of genetics.

And the worst culprit of all is John Cena (shows a picture of John from the WWE). Back before Cena was a WWE Superstar, Cena was a muscle bound freak who called himself "The Protoype," with bleach blonde hair, sunglasses inside and big, impressive muscles Shows pictures of Cena in UPW). Bryan and Protoype wrestled each other quite a bit in those days, and Bryan uses the word "wrestle" loosely when it came to Cena, since all Cena did was pose and yell a bunch. And for Cena to insult Bryan by not even remembering those days doesn't sit well with him.

Cena is what is wrong with the WWE. Cena got a free ride to the big show, simply because of his size and where he "trained." Bryan had to literally fight, scratch and claw his way to the WWE, and has done so without compromising his morals, beliefs or anything else. And for that, he has become the World Heavyweight Champion. And he plans on continuing to be that through Wrestlemania and beyond.

At Elimination Chamber. Bryan is the first of six to be in the match. He manages to work his way to the final two against Great Khali (another APW alum). Bryan is completely exhausted, begs off, and grabs a mic to try and plead to his fellow APWer. Khali, not really knowing english, grabs Bryan and goes for the big chop, only to have it blocked by a returning John Cena (under the ring), who kicks Khali in the gut picks up Khali for the AA. The feat of strength makes Bryan's eyes bug out of his head as Cena looks at Bryan the entire time. He slams Khali, Bryan pins to retain and Cena immediately goes to town on Bryan as Bryan screams for the chamber to risen so he can get out.

The next night on Raw, Rock's music hits. He comes out, does his deal and calls out John Cena. Cena comes out, ready to fight. Rock calms him down and explains to him that even though they were scheduled to fight, he noticed that Cena has bigger fish to fry with Bryan. So in the best interest of Cena, the WWE and the fans, he is officially forfeiting his match so that Cena can prove to that punk Bryan that he is the best and take back the title! The fans boo, Cena looks distraught, but before he can say a thing, Bryan attacks Cena from behind, The Rock joins in and raises Bryan's hand. The Rock is officially in Bryan's corner at Wrestlemania.

At Wrestlemania the fight goes on for 30 minutes or so, everytime Cena is about to beat Bryan, The Rock distract the ref or interferes keeping Bryan alive. As they enter the endgame and Cena is stuck in the Lebell lock in the middle of the ring, the glass shatters and here comes Stone Cold Steve Austin! Austin storms to ringside, The Rock is shocked but brings the fight to Austin, Austin disposes of him, Bryan breaks the lock to confront Austin.

Austin never touches him, instead he flips the double bird and tells him to turn around, Bryan turns and walks right into a AA. Cena pins Bryan to win his millionth title in the WWE. Afterwards Cena and Austin are sharing a beer when Rock and Bryan try to jump them from behind. A brief scuffle ends with Cena AA'ing The Rock while Bryan eats a stunner.

Hmmm. Now that I think about it, it would probably be better if HBK came out as opposed to Austin...

I was thinking of using Daniel Bryan but I like this idea too:

VS.

In this scenario, as in real life, Zach Ryder wins the US title from Ziggler at the TLC PPV. But I wouldn't have Ryder involved at all in that stupid Kane/Cena storyline. Instead Ryder spends the next few weeks solidifying his status as the champion and a rising star and becoming less of a goof character. In the meantime Cody is looking to become the greatest intercontinental champion of all time. Cody will still attempt to become the first duel champion since Ultimate Warrior but will fail to win the Royal Rumble due to being eliminated in the final five or so by Zach Ryder. Cody makes an unsuccessful bid to win the WHC again at Elimination Chamber while Ryder manages to defend his title against Jack Swagger at EC. With Cody realizing he is not going to win the WHC or WWE titles at this Wrestlemania he turns his sights to a new goal - unifying the IC and US titles. Cody attacks Ryder during a match at the Smackdown after EC to announce his intentions. Cody continues to pop up during every Ryder match and promo, even going as far as to pester Eve to get Zach's attention. Finally, Teddy Long announces the title unification Wrestlemania match during an episode of Smackdown two or three weeks before WrestleMania.

Sorry I disappeared a while. Had some issues at home.

Since I still dont know if I get a turn, this is what my choice WOULD have been.

Undertaker vs Kane in a buried alive match. I'll write up why in a serperate post later, even though IDK if my choice counts LOL
