I was unaware that you only needed a WR or a TE at that spot... I mean, seeing as you are an expansion team and all, thought you might have other holes to fill... my bad.
I have slight reservations about him having quite that many sacks b/c I think he's a shade below JJ Watt. Regardless, great pickup by you. I do like the flexibility he offers.
I'm not taking your third round picks away, remember with two new expansion teams two extra picks are added at the end of each round. Everything gets moved back or moved up depending on each round. I went through and did the math. If you add 8 to 26 it equals 34 (as in # of teams.) Top 16 picks in round 2 Last 8 picks in round 3 First 8 picks in round 4, 5, 6, 7 that should equal the quality level you would get on average over the draft. It's my assessment to try and create an even distributation and to try and simulate risers and fallers in the real draft.
There were two others I considered at Allen's spot. But Allen had a 1st round grade from me and the other two...one was at a position where I drafted 2 players at and the other was another 15-20 slots down my draft board and I have a similar player on my sights next round. So I opted for the best target available for Osweiler.
I have him ranked above Watt. I think has a great motor, great strength and more refined pass rush technique than Watt. Id actually be quite stunned if he dropped to round 2 in real life
yeah, at some point you gotta just take a BPA who falls randomly, and then just figure out a way to get him involved. You can run some solid 2 TE sets with Miller & Allen since they can both block fairly well (and Allen can block in space). I wouldn't let Casey hold me back from drafting Allen.
I'd be surprised if he fell that far, too. I don't disagree with what you're saying about Crick, however I liked Watt's upside better and thought he might sneak into the top 6 last year. So I'm not discrediting your feelings about Crick; I just liked Watt a ton.
Who said Im also not featuring Casey as an H-back? If I cant get the premier outside WR's get as many inside players as you can and I have a deep threat in Smith who teams have to respect vertically. Not that I wont still look to add wr's as well.... The way you feel about Watt is kinda where I stand on Crick. Its all good homey....
Good way to look at it. I was thinking of taking Fleener for that very reason if he were at my pick. Zach Miller + Allen/Fleener/Charles would be a nice duo.
Hey, you didn't let me finish my sentence I was clearing my throat. If ya hadn't so abruptly interrupted you would've heard me say "Are we gonna get hung up on Skeet, FinOops, or Big E?.... and their awe inspiring draft selections?" dick.
King of the Hill sucks. Everytime I see that show I want to cut out my eyeballs. Kind of like AJ Feeley's QB play when he was with Miami.
yeah, I hate KoH, too. I wanted to use Family Guy, Aqua Teen, American Dad, or Robot Chicken instead but KoH is all that Toon has on.
What? I love Family Guy and American Dad is pretty good too. The Simpsons were amazing for years also
but "no" to Aqua Teen or Robot Chicken? I just got into AquaTeen; that show cracks me up. I would've figured you for a "Carl" fan.
I's still gonna be here. Ballsy pick bro. big big ballsy. But we are an expansion team so he'll have time to develop with the rest.
Ive always been impartial to players who have skills that cant be taught....he uses his body well, has good ball skills and hands...actually impressed me with some of his route running also. We shall see how he translates but the sky is the limit for that kid.
Don't get me wrong brobeans, I hope we have a chance to take him. 2nd round might be a lil high considering he'll likely need some time to develop. But to your credit, he'll be gone by your next pick, so if you wanted him you had to pull the trigger, right.
