Then figure out how to make it help your team.

me too. I haven't bid up a player I'm not interested in either. I'm considering it with Schiz, but I don't think I could stoop to his disgraceful level.

So you're saying all the times he's done this is merely coincidental?

How is it to his detriment when he can flat out cut the guy after signing him (like he does)?

Do you read what I write? I said the Smith/Wright thing is coincidental, I said nothing of the sort about his other bids because I don't know enough information to make such a claim.

It pisses me off when people whine about the rules because they feel they are being negatively impacted by them.

It pisses me off even more when people try to manipulate what I tell them into something else...

Because that is 1 bid, and $460k that he can't use for at least 48 hours. Its lost resources on opportunity cost.

So the answer is bid more money up front to nullify his "strategy". So how does that help my team when it takes a bigger chunk from my FA money than might otherwise be necessary? 200k might not seem like much now, but it could mean the difference between signing a key FA or not having the funds to continue bidding.

    ditto. :wink2:

No worries GIK. I won't be back next year, so feel free to keep defending this bush-league coward.

You will NOT convince me that a guy who has a vivid history of doing this to other GMs (ones who DIDN'T curse him out in a PM response) suddenly is doing it to me out of pure coincidence, especially when it occurred immediately following my PM..... and even more so considering he never responded to my PM.

If he felt bad for insulting me, he would've apologized for it and this "might" all be a coincidence.
However, if he's an arrogant, self absorbed prick, he'll instead take offense to me getting offended, and he'll choose to not PM me back and instead opt to seek some form of retribution. What happened? I got no PM back. What did happen? My players got bid up.

No, I've been pretty up front about everything.

Strategy and what not, just go back through the previous posts where I said I would continue to bid at the last minute and what not. I don't know why you would call it cowardly when I do something I said I was going to do regardless.

I've said it before I'm pretty transparent in my strategy.

As for you cursing me out, you never did such a thing in the pm. You just took offense to me breaking down what I thought of your team and told me because of my clemson remark we were done talking. So I left it at that. I can't help it if you take everything personally, when I'm just giving my opinion and I think some of your judgement is clouded by Clemson tinted glasses... a 2nd for Ford, the way you gush about Branch ect.

I should have known better then to give you my personal take on your team with the way you took VO's critical look at your team in the expansion league thread.

Frankly I was going to bid on Aaron Ross as well because he was sitting at 300K for a while. I like to have depth on my team, it's not a bad idea to bid on a CB like Wright who's pretty much started each game in his 5 year career except for maybe like 4 games for 350K. I think you've got some inadequecy issues but regardless I don't need to say much more then I'm playing it like I always have.

There's no reason for me to pollute this league with pages of whining.

    That's it, le fin.

That sounds like someone who doesn't want to pay the $7.0M you bid on him... if you don't value a guy at $7.0M, why would you offer him the contract?

"advice"? lol. That's what you call an unsolicited page of criticism via PM?
Sorry, I don't recall signing up for that one, nor do I enjoy some arrogant prick talking down to me and essentially telling me the only way I could like Spiller & Ford is if I'm a "Clemson homer". What was the phrase you used?--- "I'm not feeding into your Clemson homerism" I believe it was.... and you did it twice in the same PM.

You thinking that I should be "open to your criticism" only shows how much of a pompous arse you really are b/c you're essentially saying that I should just sit there and take what you have to say b/c you're this "holier than thou omniscient football god" whom I should feel privileged is giving me "advise" in the first place. GTFO.

You're just scum, bro. That's it. Scum that hides behind a computer and tries to twist stuff around to defend his scummy self. :wink2:

I obviously value him at 7M b/c I bid 7M. I don't value him higher than that so I wont be bidding higher than that. It's pretty explicit in definition, but I appreciate you telling me what you think I'm actually meaning.

If someone wants him worse, they can know that I won't be upset for bidding on a guy I just bid on (b/c of all this schisno mess). That's all.

Bottom line--- if it's pissing multiple people off, stop doing it; it's not good for a league's integrity & harmony.

From my experience, when someone says that... it means they want them to bid on that player.

However... most everyone to too stubborn to admit that.

I would like to take a short time out from this pretty good fued to defend my overpayment of Marques Colston. Now that he's officially a Buc I can make my argument without the risk of anyone else jumping in on him.

Yes, 16M is more than he's worth. But at the end of the day there was only 1 #1 WR available and he was it. He's legitimately one of the top 10 receivers in the NFL and is good for 1000 yards and about 7 TDs a year. I tried to trade for every WR that was better than him in the NFL but was unsuccessful, so I used a chunk of my considerable cap space to get him and considering that 2nd teir guys like Manningham and Meachem are both over 6M currently it doesn't look that bad to me. It's a passing league and I had to pay a premium, but so be it.

How is it too much when I've been able to pretty much fill all of my needs a few days into FA? I needed a big time WR and had the money to spend what it took to get him.

Historically with the way our league goes it not overpaying, right on par how our league values are and dbs. If I had cap we'd be in the 20s
