http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=7672173 Not looking good my friends... We may already be out the running.
This just in, authorities in Miami are installing inflatable devices under each and every bridge to save lives.
I really doubt Manning is the type of guy to string anyone along. If we were out of the running I think Peyton would have said its down to two teams. Sure someone will scream he makes more money using the phins, but I just dont buy its Peytons style. We were once a "lock" according to outside sources, fickle as they are. Lets not forget that the "news outlets" make money keeping us all on our seats visiting their sites, watching the commercials. Flip floping does just that. Although I would really like a solid date he is due in Mia and some confirmation of extremem motivation from Ross/Ireland!
Didn't Mort say we were the favorites a few days ago? And now we can't even get a meeting? WTF is going on?
Seriously, I think listening to media reports at the moment is not good for your health. You've got a report saying Manning was leaning towards Denver after meeting with them, prior to meeting with Arizona. Well duh... BTW, does that sound familiar to anyone else? (think this most recent January)... Tuesday can't get here soon enough. Then we'll know... And can focus on other areas that are pretty damn important as well... such as the right side of the offensive line, finding another receiver opposite Marshall, getting someone to put pressure on the quarterback other than Cameron Wake and looking at our free safety options.
Omar, yes I know the sourse is questionable, says at least we have last at bat. I said yesterday that it makes sense that he would leave the most favored/likely location until last. Saying ok fins "match this and I am all yours."
Not that I really ever wanted Manning but the feeling is we are about to blow it all on Flynn. If we do that we are screwed.
No tears..if those teams are willing to sign him without seeing him throw, and thats something he's ok with, then to me thats some shady business.
Here's what I think. I think Miami brass want to see him throw before signing him to a contract that we are otherwise willing to pay him. I think he wants to play for the Dolphins as he's familiar with the area (that's a big thing). I think Arizona and Denver are also using Peyton to light fires under their own respective quarterbacks' asses (Tebow and Kolb). And clearly Manning is using those two teams to get a contract out of someone that may pay him before working him out. He's not fully recovered, by his own admission. Again, Tuesday can't get here soon enough.
we're like a girl that calls and calls and calls and calls, then drives by your house, they stops in the car outside your house, then knocks on the door, then goes back to calling...sad...so sad..we've become beggers and stalkers
If we can't at least get him into the building for an interview, we've got bigger problems than not signing him.
What is it they say about job interviews? The best candidate is always the last one you spoke to? In general I believe all three teams were close on his list. Arizona and Denver have worked their magic and probably ARE ahead of us. I won't believe reports like this until either we don't meet with him or Manning says it himself.
We clearly need some below Ross and above Ireland in this franchise. A VP level guy like Parcells.. At this point I really don't care if that guy is Peterson. But we need someone in between these two to take control of the organization and run the team.
Bleh I never wanted Parcells. Perfect example of a guy the game had just completely passed up. I really hope we never have a guy like that again. If you need someone above your GM in player talent, you need a new GM.
Until his sig is on a contract somewhere, nobody is outta of it. The only person who has an idea where he wants to be is PM. When the sig happens, then I can get to wonder/get pumped for the upcoming season.
The news ticker on NFL Network said a few minutes ago that his next stop is back to Miami to talk to the Dolphins organization.
Obviously manning met with ireland in his mind and didn't like him. Just another psychic fail by ireland.....
We probably made him take an IQ test. 1) The father of Dez Bryant a pimp. His mother works for his father. From this we can conclude: A) His mother was a prositute. B) His mother handled the money. C) There is not enough information to conclude. He chose A but apparently it was wrong. All Ireland had to say was "Yea, thats what I picked too" Thought instead of beating the dead horse I'd try and freshen up the joke a little lol
THIS...I don't ever sign in to actually write. But this comment couldn't be so true that I had to. 1.) Not that I am for or against Manning coming to South Florida we will survive with or without him. 2.) I don't think Flynn is the answer either as someone else stated. Two games in the NFL does not equal a big time contract in my book even if one game was one heck of a game against the LIONS. 3.) Back to Ireland has anyone ever met the guy, does he come off the wrong way? I mean ever since he made Dez Bryant take an "IQ" Test about his mom being a prostitute he just comes off as someone I wouldn't want to work for myself. 4.) Go Dolphins! I am a fan no matter what even if we don't get a QB an we lose out to all the other teams and we are stuck we MATT MOORE again. He wasn't so bad but he wasn't Peyton Manning, the "JOE ROBBIE STADIUM SEAT FILLING, JUMP ON OUR BAND WAGON ATTRACTION" we need.
Not an Ireland fan by any means but what besides pesimism makes anyone think Peyton is not interested or that its Ireland making difference?
Yeah because pimps and others involved in activity creating illegal imcome declare said incomes to the gvt and get taxed!
Remember when Mort said we were on the verge of landing Harbaugh? This is just unsubstantiated gossip. Manning isn't calling him letting him know what he's thinking after his first freaking visit. Lets settle down and let this play out.
11:12 a.m. (MT) Lombardi has learned that the Broncos are expecting Manning to make a decision by Monday. Obviously, Manning wouldn’t be able to visit many more teams than the Cardinals, Broncos and perhaps Dolphins before then.
If he's truly not interested maybe it's because our brass are not the desperate pushovers the public/media is making them out to be and are demanding he throw before signing him. You know they didn't get Fisher because they wouldn't cede personnel authority to him.
Not sure how much if any validity I attach to this , but on espn radio they said it is down from 12 teams to 2 , Denver and Arizona.
We were the favorites 3 days ago and now rumors are flying that we won't even get to interview him? I've learned my lesson in the past. I don't believe any of these reports anymore until something is official.
