except its not as easy as "going to just grab whomever" . If you have one target yes you can just go sign a guy, we obviously have more then one guy.

thanks. Either one of those is an upgrade to what we currently have. I think we need a #1 and #2. I think we currently have 2 #3 wr's and we all know we got rid of our #1.

why wouldn't they? Both of them would greatly increase the speed of the receiver corps

I'd take manningham. I'm not sure if he's a number one receiver though. I can't seem to think right now to what I've seen him do lol

We did trade away BM for 2 x 3rd picks. We have met with Manning & the lineman whose name escapes me at the moment. We are supposed to have a couple of meetings lined up. We're supposed to be talking to Flynn.

So, not as aggressive as years past, but certainly not timid.

Again ***** all you want about the actual talent we've brought in or are trying to get, but quite frankly, Ireland may suck at getting talent or he may not, but that guy has balls as big as church bells.

The WR problem is making me want to trade up and get the best available WR. Before the Marshall trade I wanted to trade down and get the best available QB, just didn't want to do that with the 8th pick

How you want to over react about BMarsh being gone. Trade up? You think we need to trade up to replace the statistical equivalent of Dewayne Bowe?

the only thing that doesn't make those 2 guys elite in your mind is the fact that they didn't have elite qbs throwing to them. Put either one of those players on a playoff team with a franchise QB and you would wish we had them.

    No i wouldn't.

None of them are better than Moss was in his prime. Moss couldn't win a SB with Brady as QB. WR's are not the position were you need elite caliber. QB is.

It's pointless to argue with the people who only see td's and blame it on the player being 100% at fault. We all agree Marshall left some td's on the field but if you look at the wr/te who had 8 or more tds this year I think all but 3 had good qbs throwing to them this year.

Let me get this straight, you admit Marshall left TDs on the field which is obviously his fault, but him not having more TDs is not his fault? Ooooook.......

So are you complaining about the quality of Free Agents we've brought in or our aggressiveness to get them? Because it sounded like you were *****ing about our aggressiveness.

In 2008, we signed McCown, Smiley, and Wilford up as soon as we could. While they stunk, they had conviction to get them and were aggressive in getting them.

In 2009, I'm fairly certain we were aggressive in bringing in Jake Grove--spent a lot of money bringing him in.

In 2010, whether it was by trade or not, we wanted Brandon Marshall, we were aggressive in getting him, gave up two high picks and a lot of money to get him. We did the same for Dansby when he became available. We also through the kitchen sink at Ryan Clark before he reneged on a deal to sign with us.

Last year, we weren't that aggressive because of the lockout.

In my opinion, our aggressiveness has never been a problem. It's our ability to bring in the right guy.

there's plenty of Brandon Marshall threads you should be in as opposed to this one about free agency.

the only thing I see is about 5 #2 wr's that are better than what we currently have. If we get a legit #1 it would have to be in the draft.

yea but legit #1 receivers can be made in the right system. Plus legit #1 receivers are over-rated for the most part. What is most important is having a good game plan and a quarterback who can execute.

I agree but the best scenario is a franchise QB with a legit #1 wr. We need a QB that can spread the ball around.

I would love to have a Calvin Johnson, however there aren't any available.

I do think L. Robinson has a chance to become a legit #1 wr.

I would be happy with him or Mario manningham. I don't really know what's available in the draft since I'm one of very few people that never got into college football.
