Thank god it's Steve McKinney and not Seth McKinney. Had me worried for a moment there.

Maybe he can help break the jinks that the Texans seem to have on us.:pity:

I know man....even when we were good those MF'rs would find a way to win! Then we lose our starting QB in Houston.....not to mention the 3 Fg's of 50 yards or more! Your right that is a jinx.

A replacement for Mormino would be my guess. He has started but injuries have slowed him down. He's a 10 yr vet so they may want some leadership from him as well...

For a moment I thought they were talking about sweat hog Seth.Remember the QB had to change towels frequently to dry his hands .

I hope he doesnt have the same problem.

I do think he is replacing Mormino for depth

How do you replace Mormino if he's never been a starter (hasn't even played in a regular season game)?

Wow for a second I thought this was the return of seth again... thankfully its not though. Hopefully he works out well for us if he starts, or if he's simply just for depth

That's also where David Boston blew out his patella tendon in a practice before scrimmage. The off-season where he was looking great for us.

I think this reinforces the rumor that they're thinking about moving Satele to OG. Steve McKinney is not coming here as depth, either. This is an experienced center who can make the line calls that Satele struggled with.

I wanted us to get McKinney a long time ago. Better late than never I guess, but McKinney's deteriorated over the years when he was a Pro Bowl caliber C/G.

What rumor? And what line calls?

Satele was a rookie last year, so he was expected to have some growing pains. He was solid for the most part, especially as the season went on.

Why would they bring in an unsigned free agent to start over him?

McKinney actually played some guard early in his career, so he would seem earmarked to fill the vacant left guard position. They need a veteran presence next to Long.

P.S. Steve is actually Seth's older brother.

good signing, no downside to it. Likely just depth, but also can provide solid veteran leadership to our young OL.
