Miami was not shut out of the Pro Bowl this season. Jason Taylor was selected to his 6th Pro Bowl of his career

My first though going over the rosters was.

Troy Polamalu should not be on this team, he has been horrible this year (Ask any Steeler Fan)

    &

Not to pick on the Steelers, but instead of big Ben, I put Derek Anderson on the team.

You could very well argue that, Williams has had a stellar year.

It's a crime if Mario Williams didn't make it. And Polamoulu has been atrocious compared to most years.

I can say wow to JT even making it too. Anderson should certainly be in over Ben too I think.

It definitely increases his trade value. But with that said, Mario Williams is much more deserving.

Pro Bowl is becoming like NBA all Star game where cats can get there based on their rep and name recognition.....

JT is only a reserve for crying out loud!!! If you want to complain about the ones that didn't make it and should have, look at the 2 starters! Even JT should have beat each of those out just for production!

I think the 2 starters should be Elvis Dumervil from Denver and James Harrison from Pittsburgh... If you look at their stats, they have had the most productive seasons...

I know stats isn't everything, but what makes him so MUCH more deserving?

Going just off of stats, JT has 3 less sacks, an INT, a TD, and 2 more FF. That plus the name recognition pushes him over. Stats aren't everything but they are something.

JT may not even play in the pro bowl, so M. Williams still can make the roster.

At least Wes Welker didn't go to the Pro Bowl over Washington or Cribbs as a KR/PR... I would have been upset if Washington/Cribbs would have been snubbed for Welker.

So if we trade JT this offseason we can use the fact that he made the pro bowl as a leverage to get a first round pick instead of a third.

I dont understand why people are dissing jason taylor like he shouldnt be in the pro bowl: 10Sacks 5forced fumbles 1Int 1TD 1Blocked FG and bats down passes like a DB so please dont say he went becuase of his name and to do that on a 1-13 team is good.

JT earned the spot . . . plain and simple.

Everyone knows that these Pro Bowls tend to go on name recognition . . . JT still has put up pretty solid numbers . . . he just had an AMAZING year last year . . and just a pretty good year this year.

Throw in the fact that he is our only selection . . . and it makes sense . . . wonder if he gets in if Ronnie is healthy and still very productive?

JT & Zach are probably retiring at the end of the season. JT probably does not care whether he goes to pro bowl or not.

Last year JT was a beast in every single game.

This year JT has had 7 good games and 7 games where he was just another warm body on the line. IMO pro-bowlers should be the players who play at a superior level on a consistent basis, not the guys who have big games with big stats and then games where they go AWOL.

There were years when JT missed out on the pro-bowl when he should have gone, but this year there are some more deserving candidates like Mario Williams.

Asomugha got robbed. Cromartie got in just from his interceptions, he's not even an every down player. Stats over substance.

There's no way in hell Big Ben should be there over Anderson.

No Mario Williams? That is a joke. Kyle Vanden Bosch is a one trick pony, Williams is an all around end.

    John Ogden? Joke.

Marion Barber? The guy doesn't start.

Mario Williams got 4.5 sacks the past two weeks after the Pro Bowl voting had ended which is the main reason why he didn't get in and Vanden Bosch has played very well the past few seasons with Tennessee and I think he deserved it, Asomugha didn't make it because of the interceptions but it is kind of hard to argue against Cromartie with the stats he put up, Anderson should have went over Big Ben, John Ogden is a joke and Marion Barber becuase of the good rushing stats and his ability to make the highlight reel because of his running style but he may have made it because of the lack of deserveing running backs in the NFC.

Does the NFL require each team have at least ONE representative like they do in major league baseball? I know the Broncos only had one guy this year as well (Champ Bailey). I think selection is often based on a guy's reputation and past glory rather than what he did the past season, but I am happy for JT.

Pretty sure there is no such rule, just with the talent parity in the NFL usually seems that teams get at least 1.
TBH Miami should have been one .... Taylor over Williams was stupid.
Biggest name team with no selections? Ummm, the Jaguars? Hello? 10-4 gets no love I guess. Rashean Mathis should have gone, as should have Fred Taylor, and a case could be made for Garrard, though his injury Id have gone with Ben/Derek. Ben deserves to go over Anderson imo.
Marion Barber imo deserves to go. Hes a beast, runs hard and well. Yeah he makes highlight reel plays, but hes a tough yards guy too. Teammate Terence Newman over Charles Woodson though? Please ...

Reading Len P.'s column on ESPN, have to agree about Mario/Charles/Fred being the biggest omissions. Seems to me some of the people going in there place got in on rep alone.

That is one of my two big beefs with the Pro-Bowl. First, it seems to favor rep/popularity over production (jon Ogden anyone?), and second, it closes well before the season (often crunch time games!!) have ended. What the hell? Great if you can light it up for the first 8, but what happens when you fade the last 8 but still get in. Same for those people who take their games up a notch in the crunch time but get no recognition for it. Stupid.

Two teams did not get a single player into the Pro Bowl and that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars. JT will be representing all of Florida come Pro Bowl time.

I don't think JT deserves to be in the pro bowl this season, there were some games when he didn't register a single tackle. The pro bowl is a joke, Donald Driver makes it over Plaxico Burress? Tony Gonzalez over Kellen Winslow Jr?

And on a side note, for those saying Derek Anderson over Big Ben, compare their stats please, Roethlisberger has had a great year.
