### Besides lining up Reggie Bush and Lamar Miller at receiver, the Dolphins have added another wrinkle, with Daniel Thomas splitting out some at receiver…. Cornerback Sean Smith told WQAM's Joe Rose that Ryan Tannehill's zip on*his passes*"is something that stands out when you watch the quarterbacks. The ball comes out fast with a lot of force. He's making all the right checks.” Interesting about Bush, Miller, like to hear about some possible schematic interpretations?? Moore and Garrard, it's simple, whoever wins the battle, you got the first half of the season to finish with a winning record, if you don't, the rook takes over..Or should I say first quarter of the season?
I think the idea of Bush(or others for that matter) making big contributions split out wide is a little bit hopeful. It's pretty rare for a runningback to run any sort of serious WR route tree, and I don't think Bush has ever really been all that good at doing it. A lot of what I remember from USC was him just mostly running fly routes and hoping he got open.
I expect to see some of the HBs lined up along side one or two other receivers. Then have them run a quick out or bubble screen. Seems like he is trying to get our play makers in space, where they can make one guy miss and pick up a lot of yards.
You could see that while watching him in college. He throws the ball on a rope, I actually think at times he needs to learn to take some heat off of it and throw the ball with more "touch". Sometimes when he throws the ball really hard it doesn't get that high in the air which could lead to balls being batten down, interceptions, etc.
great another qb with "touch" issues lol nah but that's why I want him to sit and just really work on his game and not be thrown into the fire with a mediocre squad around him
Sometimes he does it, but he needs to work on knowing when to throw it with touch and when to put some touch on it. He will be fine though, he doesn't have a ton of experience and we should be able to coach him up.
His touch did improve over the course of last season. Early in the year, he was throwing pure rocket balls, but after a few more games, he started to take just a bit off on his underneath routes - where the touch issue was magnified. He'll likely always throw a 'heavy ball' as he really snaps his wrist and arm when he throws.
