The third-round draft pick should make an ideal partner for Cameron Wake. But he'll be eased into his role, starting out as a situational player. Player to watch: Charles Clay, the Dolphins' sixth-round pick in 2011, got off to a slow start last season, but has quickly made a favorable impression on the new coaches, and all the quarterbacks. He's become their favorite check-down target. He could easily double last year's contribution of 16 receptions for 233 yards and three touchdowns. "Charles Clay is a young, emerging guy," Philbin said. "He can kind of go to a couple different places for you and looks comfortable doing that, so I'm excited about him." There's some other thoughts in there worth noting, like Jerry's fat ***, that Reggie says the system suits him, that R Jones is entrenched, That Ocho and Naanee will probably make the roster, and some other Kelly observations.
The one cut before he zigs and spins right before the zag. I saw that to Reggie is not a one cut runner.
I don't think it's all that particularly crazy that Bush fits the run scheme well. It's not about Bush fundamentally changing anything as much as it would be him building off the progress he made last year. Being a one-cut runner isn't about what you do down the field, it's about what you do behind the line. He wasn't dancing in the backfield last year, he had good vision and was decisive. If he continues doing that, he's put in a position where his physical ability is very advantageous. Bush has the ability to hit whatever cutback lane he sees.
