Since today is the day guys can actually sign, I figure it's as good a time as any to start the new thread. Your defending NBA champions, the MIAMI HEAT, will add Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Happy posting.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Houston has decided to use the amnesty provision on Luis Scola and will likely file with NBA on Friday, league sources tell Y! Sports. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA The Rockets will soon have the space to absorb Orlando's Dwight Howard, Jason Richardson, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Duhon and Epcot Center. You can have them all!
Hope its true and an indication of things to come: I can't confirm as I dont care for twitter. But I heard "the Rockets' official Twitter just followed Dwight, Jason Richardson, Glen Davis and Duhon." I hope this means D12 is a Rocket.
Signed 95 mill extension yesterday...Clips rebuilding would be over if it was more serious. Glad he'll be back for camp, but wish he could've done his thing in the Olympics.
Why would the Rockets even want all of that? To continue to be mediocre? Some dumb GM's in this league.
Remember when Morey told Bosh that his projections showed a Big 3 Heat winning 45 games, but a Bosh-led Rockets winning 60+? Mediocre player misses time. Oh well.
Are the Knicks going to do something smart, finally...by accident? They are reportedly going to offer Ronnie Brewer a contract. Brewer is a good rotation player. Can defend, and do the little things.
Blake Griffin is like the Carmelo Anthony of PFs. Great potential, but will never be an elite player until he learns that you can't be a winner just by making plays offensively.
I don't agree he's second best. Guys who are better off the top of my head: Dirk Gasol Love Aldridge Duncan KG Bosh Smith Defense makes all of the difference here. I agree he's much better than mediocre though. 22 and 11 is far from mediocre.
I don't agree that he's the Carmelo of PF's. Griffin is a great player, bottom line. No way is he mediocre.
Glad you said that. Love is no doubt the best PF. Before we rank PFs we have to determine if Garnett, Bosh, and Duncan are PFs. I'd def put Dirk above Griffin and will get into others once we determine if the names above qualify.
@YellowSnowman I considered Garnett, Bosh, Duncan and Dirk. However I ranked him ahead of them all. It was tough to put him ahead of Dirk but I think Dirk is nearing the end of his career and wasn't quite as productive as Griffin was last season. I think he officially passed Dirk. I left out Aldridge, though. I think a case could be made he's the second best.
I have Love as the best. Aldridge I could see. I don't agree with the rest. You're right about defense, though. That's an area he needs to improve in. I don't think he's a finished product yet, though.
Blake is completely ineffective 5 feet or more away from the basket. He can't shoot, can't dribble, doesn't play defense, and his FTs are atrocious. If we're taking age out of it and considering just play then Garnett, Dirk, Bosh, and Aldridge are far better. They do more and far more versatile. They can carry a team, Blake cannot at this point.
He was more productive than all of them last season. He has the second highest PER. If you look at the past two seasons, he has at worst the third highest PER I believe. There are areas of his game he needs to improve, for sure. He's still young. But he's a great player. Not elite, but great.
He's more productive than them. He had the second highest PER of all PF's last season. They are better defensively, I agree. But by how much?
Maybe. You could be right but I'm not so sure about that. Is Dirk's defense so much better than Griffin's that you rank him ahead?
Blake can't do anything but dunk and yet still averages 21/11 on 55% shooting. Let's not be ridiculous, he's far from mediocre.
