See, you really do not know that for a fact. None of us do. It amounts to 20/20 hindsight. Speculation. Can you name one highly drafted QB who was a backup as rookie and had it hurt his long term development? I can't think of even one who it could be argued would fit that bill. However there are a lot who get thrown in too soon and never become a franchise QB, while of course some get thrown in and have no problems with their long term development.
that's fair. You can call me ****head if I can keep calling you pea pod. stop making excuses. He's not great anymore, so he clearly debunks your assertion. Why did he get hurt? I know the answer; I'd just like to hear it from you b/c I'm going somewhere with this.
Clean, take it from me.... Don't go down this road or you'll end up stark raving mad, like the sailor in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, or phinsational.
But on the flip side it is hindsight that the same QB who sat for a year wouldn't have still been a Good QB. It's a vicious circle that's why I feel it's a case by case situation.
Yes. Because a DT rolled into his knee in a playoff game. That's why he got hurt. Still see no correlation.
Why did he get hurt? I dont know why, but I know how. It was against Pittsburgh, a playoff game I believe. And it was a cheap shot. I cant recall who hit him, but it looked intentional. you're right though, if hr would have been holding a clip board instead of playing it wouldn't have happened. Guess we should never let tannehill play cause he might get hurt.
Didn't want ya to feel left out. They toss around insinuations about their own sexualities too. It's all in good fun.
Irony?? The "rookie" Canes is destroying the "seasoned vet" in this debate....maybe Phinsayshemale should've just lurked and not posted an extra year.
I never said I did know. All im saying is if a qb is gonna be good it doesn't matter when he starts. If tannehill has what it takes, then holding him out isnt gonna matter. He'll be good no matter what
Phinsational is my shemale lover of ten years. We were gonna keep that a secret, but now with you throwing around insinuations, we may as well be out in the open about it.
Hmm a Buckeye agreeing with a Hurricane. Who eoulda thunk it? Can we also agree that it wasn't pass interference in the Fiesta Bowl?
Sure it does. The guy behind Brady has been watching and learning from a hall of famer. Going by these other two "guys" rational, he should be ready to be a starter. Kinda like Matt Cassell. How did that work our for K.C.?
Maybe he would have. Just give me one example of a highly drafted QB who was a backup for a season or so, and had it effect him negatively long term. On the other hand, of those who start from Day 1, it is mixed results between some with success and some with long term failure.
I have my hands full with these other two "guys". I cant get into a sub-discussion with you about this. it still gives me an upset stomach when I think about it.
Hoyer was a late round draft pick, and who knows, maybe he will or maybe he won't be a solid starter if he gets the chance. My argument from the get go has been referring to highly drafted QBs. The ones expected to be a franchise QB for the long term as evidenced by their draft status. The thing is, being a backup may have helped Hoyer long term and sure has not negatively effected him.
The DB was Glenn Sharpe. It was a clean defensive play. Ot never should have come down to that though. OSU had a 4th and 14 and we let them get it, but im sure you know that already
He started 11 games as a rookie and struggled behind a sieve like OL, and started 7 in the next 5 years combined. Next?
That must have been awesome. I saw the Hurricanes win their 4th N.C. Against Nebraska in the 92 orange bowl. If the Canes ever get their crap together id love to go to a National Championship game again
And yet from the modern generation Peyton Manning, Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Roethlisberger (Ok, Pitts hand was forced after two games) all played right away or virtually right away. IMO, its an ability/intelligence combination you either grasp right away or you dont. RG3 and Luck will be starting right away, no reason Tannehill cant if he is the best QB. I dont buy the "he has to sit for a year". Never have, never will with those high first round guys. It has some legitimacy with non-1st round QB's who hold a much lower success rate anyway but none with those first rounders, especially high 1sts. If youre ready youre ready. The only caveat is I wouldnt throw a rookie QB in there with a terrible OL but we have at least 2 excellent OL at the two most important positions LT and C.
That may have been me, but in all fairness I said the"there is no way you are this big of a idiot" or something like that. So technically I didnt call him an idiot. Basically I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't.
i know what was said and it wasnt really needed. He called you a pea pod and you respond with ******** and idiot. Doesn't really seem like an equal trade-off.
I'm the talent on this board, not happening. Any hoot I think we will know more about what Philbin n Co will do with RT after tomorrow.
