Slow night, so thought I'd ask what storylines you think they'll explore this week. Possibly... - team refocusing post-ocho - starters held out: Wake, Dansby, Burnett, Hartline etc - Tannehill's start obviously - Jon Martin's performance (segue from Tannehill's night - Coach Turner dealing with post game fallout - no Les Brown.. I think HBO realized he ain't making this team - the runningbacks... Led by Reggie, thou that may wait til episode four - WRs really needing someone to step up (injured Hartline update behind the scenes?) - spotlight on Gates I think - Cam Wake gets his first attention from the HBO producers IMO - Philbin weathering the two 'losses' and how he deals with the team after - Ireland calling around league for help at....? Position ?
then how 'bout a random thread about hard knockers?.... perhaps you can have the Mrs rate 'em on a scale of 1-100 for us.
They need a follow up on Vontae IMO. Good call about intro'ing Wake. Thought they'd have already intro'd Jimmy Wilson, too.
Pretty sure Jon Martin will be focused on....where has Oliver Vernon been? I wonder if Dansby crying about Chad will be on there or they just decided to move on from that. Vontae playing well Friday is likely to garnish some attention as well.
I'd thank you but you Patted yourself on the back pretty hard already. Phinsational don't quote this and just take "pretty hard already"
That's why you buy them bulk from the medical surplus store yes? There are probably beat up old gym bags full of 'em all through your house, garage, work-shed and dungeon. Clean. Only guy I know who uses wrist straps and chalk to jerk off.
.... that, and so women can feel when he's........ nevermind. j/k MrClean, buddy ole pal. Please don't hurt me.
Man, I just saw that 2nd episode. There's a fakeness to Philbin's personality that I can already tell is going to annoy me. His meeting with Chad mostly. I wanted a stoic coach for a change, but Philbo doesn't really strike me as that. Reserved, yes, but there's too much of a corporate smarminess to his persona. Basically just the hypocrisy of getting uptight over cursing, and then hearing all his coaches cursing and telling awkward off-colored jokes on Hard Knocks.
I think their is a huge difference between cursing to help get your point across to your players while coaching and making the organization look bad in front of a media press conference.
Yeah, basically referring to the whole paradox of the political correctness mixed in with the inherent violence of the sport.
Les Brown will continue to be shoved down our throats because HBO can't wait to show him being despondent in episode 6.
I think there's going to be some kind of fallout feature from cutting Chad Johnson. There has to be. The very last thing anyone saw on Episode 2 was Chad getting awkwardly cut in Joe Philbin's office. There's going to be a feature about how the players are reacting to it, how much they miss him, etc. I think they WOULD make the Les Brown story quietly go away, except now Jamie Crandall has a little bit of a following...so you can bet they're looking for more interactions between the two love birds. What I would do if I were them would be to compare and contrast Chris Hogan with Les Brown because they have very similar storylines. Both have almost zero football background. Both started training with guys who could re-make their bodies and enhance their natural athleticism. But Hogan is having success on the field, and Brown is not. Ryan Tannehill being named the starter for the preseason game is going to be a big deal. That is going to be a big storyline. Initially it looked like Lauren Tannehill would be hanging back home watching the game like anyone else but somehow she ends up in Carolina prowling the sidelines during the game, so look for plenty of shots of her watching her husband in his first start. In typical Hard Knocks fashion, look for them to pretend that Ryan's touchdown drive was his final drive of the game, rather than the 3rd of his 5 drives (sort of like how they pretended Michael Egnew's 31 yard gain came after his other missed connections). Cameron Wake will get a big feature in this because of the car accident he got in and his having to sit the entire week out. Look for Hard Knocks to roll out more information than the media have had about that, and also don't be surprised if they make it seem like a bigger deal than the media has made it seem this week. They're probably going to tie his absence in with the total and complete lack of pass rush during the Carolina game. Aside from all that, there will be a feature on whatever the Dolphins had going on that they hinted at involving the Marines or whatever. Reggie Bush tweeted a picture. There's supposed to be an epic prank or something, which I don't know if those two are related or not.
