Ricky Williams. The guy is always a fan favorite for some reason. From what we’ve heard, he’s doing all the right things to impress the new boss, so look for him to have every opportunity to get back to form, which was at one time very good. If he can still run, the fans will really rally around him again. Strange world, ain’t it?

I think if Ronnie Brown has a outstanding year a lot of people could start to see him as the face of the frachise. I also think that if Henne/Beck start this year, and have a good year then they will be considered the face of this organization.

Ricky said that he wants to play 2 more season before he retires, which means to me that no one will consider him the face of this franchise when he won't be around very long.

    Ummm....no

Ricky will forever be the idle for every stoner out there, but not the new face of the Miami Dolphins.

IMO Ronnie Brown is the most logical choice because of his production and likeable personality. Guys like Ginn, Beck, Satele, Long, etc still have alot to prove and guys like Porter, Crowder, etc may not be around next year or have a big enough impact to be considered the face of the franchise.

    So Ronnie Brown

I agree Ronnie seems the most likely candidate. If he can make it thru this year heading the power running game that going to implemented into the offense without missing any games, I think he's a lock.

However, I have a feeling Beck is going to surprise a lot of people this year. 1 or 2 winning 4th quarter drives early in the year could bump him right up that list.... and I believe he will have them. He was very good at coming back in the 4th as a college QB.

Interesting posts thus far. Brown is definitely a likely candidate...if he can stay healthy.

It's a long shot, but Jason Allen was considered a team leader at UT. I doubt he is ever going to be a Troy Polamalu at the safety position, but if he can be above average and offer some leadership on defense, I'll be pretty satisfied with him as a first round pick.

I'd like to see it be Ronnie Brown, or one of our young QB's. Finally we'd have an offense to be really proud of again.

Defensively, it needs to be one of our Rookies. Merling... Langford. Somebody. One of them needs to come in here, impress and be dominate and make plays. Change the perception of our defense from being old, to young and fierce.

I find Ricky to be an endearing and engaging person, especially for fans, but there's no way in hell he'd ever become the Phins Team Icon.

Ronnie certainly has a chance if he can stay healthy and string together a few 1,200 yard seasons. I think the competition is pretty open, especially with how young the franchise has become since Parcells took over. I don't see a clear-cut leader as of yet. IMO, it's going to take a few seasons before the new face of the franchise emerges.

If he gets the job(starting QB),Beck would be a good choice to be ONE of the leaders.I have no problem with Ronnie being a team leader, but I'm not sure it's in his personality(JMO).And although he's only a rookie,I'm hoping Jake Long can step up and be "vocal" as well.On the defensive side we have Porter(veteran leadership) and Crowder to lead by example.I don't see just one person stepping into the "icon"(face of the Dolphins)role on our team.

Most logical choice would be Ronnie Brown. He has been productive already, and if he comes back strong from injury could have another good year. Some of the rookies, to tough to tell who would come out. Henne could, if he is capable.

Bell and Crocker are the front runners for the saftey jobs and have been running with the first team in OTA, Allen is not.

So, because he is not running with the 1st team, you think that would warrant him being cut? i do not see the correlation there.

Are there any other reasons that have you thinkin that?

This pretty much is the same as my feelings.

    1. Jason Allen, who finished last season as a starter, hasn't been running with starters during the early days of OTA practices. He is locked in a battle to keep his spot against the likes of Yeremiah Bell and Renaldo Hill and Chris Crocker and even Keith Davis.
The fact is Bell apparently has been moving quite nicely while recovering from his Achilles' tendon tear in the season-opener. While perhaps not 100 percent yet, he's close. And coaches like him.

Hill, recovering from an ACL tear, is also working his way back. But again, he's apparently ahead of Allen in the mind of coaches. And Crocker and Davis are Ireland/Parcells/Sparano additions so they have a built-in advantage over Allen. The point is Jason Allen, who was starting to look like something other than a bust at the end of last year, is fighting to keep from being that again.
