Former scout Russ Lande before the draft on Tannehill's tipped pass problem:

"He holds the ball low on his chest while going through progressions. Further, he has a low release point at shoulder height, which causes him to pass like a shorter quarterback. Consequently, his passes get tipped at the line."

Were all the Texans' TDs off turnovers?

What is that supposed to mean Padre?

At some point you have to make a move for talent no?
Anyone expecting him to be lights out right away were just being unrealistic.

I'd like to take a moment to say how thankful I am for the Miami Heat. Thank you Pat, Miami sports would be a sewage without you. Thank you.

Still have to disagree. He looked to the left portion of the endzone then shifted a bit to Fasano.

I have absolutely no idea what the coaching staff sees in Naanee. I don't think he had a single catch in this game. Even though I am not a big Hartline fan. At least he was able to get open and make a few catches in the second half. Naanee on the other hand didn't do squat in this game.

There were some positives in this gam though. Very decent running attack behind Reggie. Solid play from the D line too. Good pressure by Starks and Soliai. Brandon Fields still the MVP.

Omar Kelly has to be the happiest man in Miami today, with the way Tannehill played. Omar must be jumping for joy and jizzing all over the place.

Wait… we're surprised the Dolphins are bad? I'm surprised they put up double digit points.

Ridley was already good last year, the Patriots just didn't use him too often.

I was just hoping we would look like we belonged on the same field as the texans. Even that is asking too much it seems.

We looked like we more than belonged for almost, almost the entire first half. That turnover implosion is what killed us. Other than that, I thought we hung in there pretty well given the difference in talent and playmakers amongst the two teams.

I was one of those who wanted to Dolphins to do whatever was necessary to trade up in the 2012 draft and select RG3. I have watched part of the Redskins vs Saints game today and I think RG3 will end up being the best QB in the 2012 draft. That includes Luck. I can easily see the Redskins as a playoff team this season and a Super Bowl winner in the next few years. All the Redskins need is a more reliable defense. RG3 is the real deal and I think he is going to have a great rookie season.

    I didn't expect a win, so I'm not disappointed.

I think we beat Oakland next week.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the game, but tracked it on the game chart on nfl.com

Sadly, it seems Mike Sherman put the game on Tannehill's shoulders, calling 36 passing plays to only 17 running plays. When you put that much pressure on a rookie quarterback's shoulders, the number of interceptions is inevitable. Hopefully in a meaningful game, the coaching staff will look at the film, see what worked, what didn't and make adjustments accordingly.

On the defensive side of the ball well, what can I say? Miami's defense gave up 23 points. When you give up that many points to an opposing offense, your odds of winning just went into the toilet.

I knew we were going to lose this game and I sadly felt it was going to be this painful. New head coach, new offensive scheme, starting rookie quarterback and new defensive scheme. It's going to be a long painful season guys so hang in there. Let us give Coach Philbiin the year and see if the team does continue to improve throughout the season. I doubt anyone here really truly thinks Joe Philbin was going to do in Miami what Jim Harbaugh did in San Francisco last year.

The D wasn't near perfect, but it's tough to not to allow points when the opposing offense is constantly starting their drive in your own zone. Especially in a 5-6 minute span.

It was a pretty balanced attack until the end of the second quarter implosion by Miami. That's when Sherman kinda got forced to throw the ball more because we were so far behind.

Unfortunately that is the same way the Dolphins have played for the last three years. They have played well for the majority of most of the games they lost during this period, but they seemed to always find a way to lose the game. Sparano was blamed for this failure of the players to win those games. Obviously it is a player problem, not a coaching problem.
