Posting from phone so I apologize for lack of substance. That being said Irish, please get this done. I know I'm not a huge fan of your work, but resign Reggie and I'll be a happy Dolphin fan.
Bush could have had a big game last week but the ****storm before half ruined that at happening. Bush is legit in this scheme.
Gotta get it done now, the Reggie chants spoke.. Work ethic baby, it's a science..and a great predictor.
How about this: I don't think Reggie Bush will be re-signed, because Ireland would rather save the cash and feature Miller and Thomas.
Reggie set a franchise record today. 6 straight games over 100 yards rushing. This guy has busted his *** for 2 years now and proven to the NFL he is a star in this league. I will be very upset if we don't resign him.
I think one of the smartest thing this team can do is keep the weapon that Bush has made himself into around. Good for the team, good for RTs development. Good example of "work hard and see what you can be", too. Needs to happen. Bush is the #1 priority, even more than Jake. You told me I'd think that a year ago and I'd tell you that you were crazy, but here we are.
As much as it pains me to do so, I'm gonna have to heavily agree with you. Shouright and I have been pining for this the past few weeks b/c this team needs to see that hard work, sacrifice, dedication, leadership, and selflessness gets rewarded [especially after ditching non-model teammates Marshall & Vontae].
Bad decision if you consider the leadership Bush provides, which is what this franchise desperately needs right now as a new coaching regime tries to get its culture in place. You also have to set the precedent for future free agents that guys who sign short-term contracts and produce get rewarded, as well as the simple principle that guys who play well for you get rewarded. Saving money would be woefully myopic IMO.
I could not disagree with you more. If Reggie resigned it would be a serious blow to our team. HOWEVER, if he re-signed, I would be quiet thrilled.
**** it, I'm in. I'd sooner buy season tickets to Reggie Bush than to the Miami Dolphins. Lets do like that kid who sent $3.36 to Brandon Jacobs because he heard the Giants couldn't afford to keep Jacobs. http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/msn/a_six_year_old_fan_sent_brandon_jacobs_336_to_re_sign_with_giants/10955717 If we each send in a dollar to the 'sign reggie' subsidy, we can give that to Ireland at contract-negotiation time.
it depends on how much he wants IMO. we only signed him to a 2 year deal when he was traded here. If he's amenable and doesn't want to be paid an outrageous sum, I'd like to sign him. The question is how much is too much????
Bush already has a Super Bowl ring. There's no reason for him to do anything but seek the biggest payday possible.
They need to get to work on this right away. If there was any debate to whether he's the best player on the team he's silenced it.
Pinin since camp.. Really better get it done.. Reggie accepting to play here is big as what he does for us on the field, we need a hi profile player with this kind of mentality.
As long as Reggie does not want an unreasonable deal, I think it gets done. He's a legitimate elite player right now on a team with maybe two or three of those on the roster. He's also a fan favorite which would be big for PR.
Bush has looked good for the first two weeks, but he's still got stuff to prove. You've got to take his health/workload into consideration before you get to that point. Also at some point it would be nice if someone took into account that Jeff Ireland took time from being a worthless, incompetent goat-****ing son of a whore to get maybe one of the best backs in the league for dirt cheap.
Yeah but right now they're playing him in a way where those seemingly aren't concerns, so I sure hope they're taking note of that too.
