As i type this there is 3 teams in the AFC East that are 1-1 and the 4th team is on the way to 1-1 as they are losing 20-10 with 8 minutes in the 3rd quarter. Does this change anyones realistic hopes for the season? As long as we don't fall 3 games back from the lead I would have to say I have hope! If we keep playing the way we have been playing, minus the 2-5 minutes of improbable non-sense, I think we have a chance, specially with our schedule!
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Raiders are a pretty bad team and had to come east and play in hot weather and the Dolphins still showed some big holes. I thought the doom and gloom of last week was overstated, but let's let this team win a few before we start talking about the playoffs.
definitely, but you have to love the chance so far. we could easily be 0-2 with no half time adjustments and behind 2 teams that could be 2-0. just saying, things are in our favor with a long way to go.
I know you are being scarcastic, even my optimism would never utter those words. realistically i see hope for a wild card spot in the playoffs. If we win the division I would be shocked and very happy!
my phone won't let me watch the video but i assume its either the herm edwards or jim morra "playoffs!" video. am i right? lol
We'll see, the Jest will be a great test for us, they will run blitz and pretty much force THill to make some plays. If he can do that, then we can think a playoff run, but still, a bit dubious here/
I will try to remember to bring this thread back to the top every week and see if it is any more or less dubious! lol
I hear ya buddy! I will only mention that once we get our foot in the door in the playoffs. There's actual reason for hope since we finally used a first round pick on a QB since i was born! Next year we will be much better off because we are already in great position next off-season!
NO STOP even dreaming at this point. Lets just hope Tannehill continues to get better.. Thats our victory this year.
Well the things in our favor would be: A) A laughable schedule B) No team in our division is very good. Save me on the Patriots talk....minus Brady their roster is worse than ours by far.
It's official! We are either in a 4 way tie for first or a 4 way tie for 4th! lol. Playoff hopes are equal for fans of all 4 teams.
I think there is hope in the sense that if Tannehill keeps improving we have a legitimate chance to win most if not all of our games, and I don't see anyone else running away with it. Remember we didn't think we had a shot in 2008 and I honestly believe this team is far better than that team was talent wise.
I am always going to hope for the playoffs and as many wins as possible but there are some moral victories here as well that I actually have put in front of winning for a chance. For me it's more important that Ryan Tannehill continues to prove that he belongs in the NFL as a franchise QB. It's more important that some of these young guys and young vets continue to improve and establish themselves moving forward. I'll take wins and I will certainly take playoffs if we can get there but I don't think we can know much until the 3/4 point of the season. At that point If Tannehill is still standing, Bush is still healthy and our defense is still playing at a high level we can talk playoffs. Right now though it's just one game at a time.
One week at a time Week 3: Pats @ Ravens Jest @ Dolphins Bills @ Browns I think those will 3 great games, Browns are no joke this year.
looks like the pats will lose again, If we take care of the Jets, us and the Bills might be leading the division and I am not worried about the Bills. How crazy would that be?
I enjoyed the today's game. Can't say much but say "Just enjoy this season, playoff or no playoff." But I doubt the Dolphins are going to the playoffs.
You know what got me the most exited today, A rally late in the game. How may games would we have won last year if we scored 14 points in the 4th quarter?
Just come in this thread next week. I will have no problem saying there is no hope for the playoffs whenever that happens. I don't see why anyone has a problem admitting there is hope right now. Guess what, even if we lose to the Jets and the Pats, and Bills lose, there is still hope! I don't understand why anyone's view on our team defines their hope. Its not just our team that desides if our team makes the Playoffs.
So we are tied for 2nd or tied for last with the Pats depending on how you want to look at it. We are 1 game down from the Bills and Jets. I will only truly be concerned if we fall back 3 games from the lead in our division. We still have 5 division games to play catch up. Let's just hope we come out on top in our next 2 tough away games. Then we have some very winable games and some must win division games.
big week in playoff hope! If the Pats beat the Bills, The 49ers beat the Jets and We beat the Cards. The top 2 scenarios are likely, I just hope we can come up with a win in Arizona, it will be tough! It will be nice to see the AFC East all tied up though!
On the other hand, If the Bills and Jets win, or even one of them win and we lose, I will admit this thread is hopeless, but I will keep bringing it up as long as there is hope. We could either be 2 games down, 1 game down, or all tied!
Our biggest help right now is there are three other teams in our division trying hard to keep this thing in grasp of their competition. Some here would argue Ireland must be giving GM advise to the Pats and Jets.
