Every last one of these guys is better than Naanee, and most are better than Armstrong. C'mon Ireland, get on the phone! Wide Receivers 1. Terrell Owens 2. Plaxico Burress 3. Jabar Gaffney 4. Chad Johnson 5. Danario Alexander 6. Donte' Stallworth 7. Mark Clayton 8. Adrian Arrington 9. Big Mike Williams 10. Lee Evans 11. Mike Sims-Walker 12. Roscoe Parrish 13. Preston Parker 14. Blair White 15. Patrick Crayton 16. Seyi Ajirotutu 17. Michael Clayton 18. Antonio Bryant 19. Carlton Mitchell 20. Deon Butler 21. Chad Hall 22. Brett Swain 23. Jason Hill 24. Roberto Wallace 25. Anthony Gonzalez26. Brian Robiskie 27. Naaman Roosevelt 28. Rashied Davis 29. Jerheme Urban 30. David Anderson
I will never understand for the life of me why this Legadu character gets to suit up, play football, and collect a paycheck every Sunday while a guy like Plaxico Burress is out of work. Even if Burress has lost a little bit from last season there's just no chance in hell he's worse than Nanee. None. And I really don't care if I'm spelling Lagaduee's name wrong either. I'll bother to spell it right when he bothers to learn how to get open and catch a pass.
I won't lie. I'd bring Ocho back and tell him "You remember how fast your career went down the toilet this offseason? Well it can happen again, consider this a second chance from us. We believe in you to make the right choices from here on out" He certainly wont HURT the team.
IMO either Lee Evans (if healthy) or Jabar Gaffney would be the best fit, and as veterans they should pick up the offense quicker. Danario Alexander is an injury waiting to happen (5 surgeries on 1 knee, and hamstring problems this year). Chad Johnson would be the most ideal candidate, but if that happens to backfire we'll be the nation's punching bag all season, and for that it's not worth it. I'd trust Johnson's intention to give 100% to the team and not do anything stupid, but I don't trust his ability to follow through b/c he's shown once when it's all on the line that he has difficulty controlling his actions.
Naanee has zero catches in the Dolphins three regular season games this season. I have no idea if every other player the OP listed is better than Naanee. I just know that any WR who has gone through three games and participated in as many offensive plays as Naanee has in those three game, should have at least ONE catch. All the players on the list above may not be better than Naanee, but I have to believe that the vast majority of them could be more productive for the Dolphins than Naanee. Heck, my four year old grandson could have caught as many passes for the Dolphins as Naanee has, so far this season.
Unfortunately, health is holding back most of those guys. I like Lee Evans but if he was healthy he would be on a team
You must be joking. You cannot possibly be sober and believe Naanee is better than everyone on that list. Pony up a 4th for Jones? That sounds fine in theory, but if it were possible to get Jones for a 4th it would have happened weeks ago.
Drop the Jones stuff already ! We need a playmaker, not another below average player in his "prime" that costs us valuable resources... the guy's being paid like a starter when he has no business doing so. Not sure what the infatuation has been with him. If he was on the rams and was available there'd be no discussion on this player.
How many other WRs have played in at least 25% of their team's offensive snaps and have no catches? Zero.
I believe you nailed this one with mostly health issues. Even though mental health falls on some (Owens,Plaxico,C Johnson)
Tell you why I don't trust anymore, after he consciously adapted his personality to the program that he was playing for, ( the Patriots) out of respect, when he got cut, he made anither conscious decision to cut that chad Johnson and become the chad that will say and do what he wants, (no more "rules for chad")and, he didn't have enough respect for our organization, to continue the humble more professional path like he had with the Patriots.. Bottom line, after what appended the previous year in new England, and the decision to leave a professional attitude behind to become a clown, showed me extremely poor judgement, and a serious lack of self awareness...I mean this dude should of known that he was already on his last strike, not some campaign after the fact that"I fu&$ed up, you'll get the real chad now" routine. No, he had his chance to be a man and behave like an adult, but, he chose to be a clown, and at his age, to not put your head down, not take the chip you should of got from new England, go to work, and keep your mouth shut while doing it, then you ain't thinking right. Also, no one thinks there is a more classless woman on the planet than I do about his wife, however, he busted her head open with his head, he won't Deny it, and I never thought chad was that kind of dude, never.. If he had any brains he would of taken that quickness he had in preseason, and put on a show about a perceived washed up receiver, who's gonna shock the world with class and great football on and off the field, let'em tape that for hard knocks. To make that decision to become the clown chad, after what he did at new England, was one of the dumbest things I've seen an athlete do.
He said: "any WR who has gone through three games and participated in as many offensive plays as Naanee has in those three game, should have at least ONE catch." You said: "what supports that theory?" I said it is supported by every other WR in the league who's participated in at least 25% of their team snaps (such as Naanee has), having at least one catch.
That's a no brainer. Booker wasn't a bad WR in his prime. He had over 100 catches in a season before. If we could have the Booker of 8-10 years ago, heck yes.
I can't figure out the infatuation with Naanee by Ireland or Philbin or whomever. You can't honestly think that Naanee is a productive member of the offense just by the idea that he throws a good block once in a while. Why not bring in someone, anyone who might make a clutch catch once in a while to benefit the offense and our rookie quarterback. Naanee is a disappointment bordering on being an outright bust waiting on the shoe to fall.
Okay guys... I'm ready to end this... I will go out and buy myself a Naanee jersey just so he is released. It always happens when I buy player jerseys. I buy a Sean Smith jersey, he changes his number... then, instead of getting the right number, I go two for one... buy myself Chad Henne and Ronnie Brown jerseys. Yeah we know how that ended up.
Even if the list of veterans isn't good enough, I'd rather promote one of the PS rookies to the 53 than wait for Naanee to get open and make a catch.
there's a reason all those guys aren't playing anywhere,...and enough with chad johnson. he sucks. get over it
