I've noticed a lot of change, I'm starting to see enthusiasm even though we are 1 and 3, check this crazy theory out. Do y'all think because we watched the best thrower of the football ever for over 15 years, that subconsciously a lot of fans enthusiasm has been dormant because we haven't seen flashes of talent like that in a long time? You know what I'm tryin to say, I mean #13 really spoiled us... I'd like to see how this fanbase embraces their new hope, we've always been spoiled, we know what greatness at that position looks like, and we know how to return the favor as a fanbase in love with their Qb. I wonder how this fanbase will react in terms of going to the games and scopin out their new rookie and this team.. I'm thinking that from what I'm seeing and hearing, there might be a lot of fans out there eager to pounce and imbrace, that had given up, until they watched last week.. Just hope this kid is the real deal, this fanbase deserves it.
Well, yeah, there is more optimism because we have a premier RB and a rookie QB who can actually throw the ball well, shown poise, and read defenses unlike any QB we've since #13 retired. We finally don't have chicken **** (besides Penny) taking snaps under center.
I was going to post something to the extent of, "I haven't stopped thinking about the Dolphins obsessively since Sunday" and to see if anyone felt the same way. I'm not talking your run of the mill stuff, I'm talking scouring the web for outside opinions on Tannehill and excited it is nearly Wednesday, with a few more days before the next game. I think you are spot on.. I haven't been this excited about the team in years. Many years. Something feels different. For me it's a combination of Tannehill and Philbin. I have a feeling that one day these two may be remembered like Belichick and Brady, without the shady cheating.
A couple of things at play: -Rook Qb to be excited about for the first time in 2 decades -Gamebreaking Running Back -Wr making good Unlike the JJ/Wanny era, we finally have a team that can look exciting, even when losing, making the "oh, so and so's hand placement was awesome on that sack" type of stuff we normally are reduced to. Think about this Deej, Kraken had 4.5 sacks in a game, could be a dolphins record, not a single thread about it.
I'm happy to be back in 4-3. Anyone that questions if Wake can put his on the ground might not get it.
Definitely has a lot to do with the numbers Tannehill just put up. Put that with Hartline's numbers, a top 5 RB even after a minor injury and missing a whole half of a football game, and our #1 rush defense! We are the best 1-3 team ever IMO. Some people like me for the most part are always optimistic. Others need realistic things to happen to be optimistic. The important thing is that more people are in fact being optimistic, and whether you believe in faith or not, the truth is the more positive people are the more positive things will happen. Same is true about the more negative people are, the more negative things will happen.
Actually had a purpotedly well thought of Dolphins writer, on twitter, tell me Kraken "could not play De in the NFL" Love the 4-3, really do, now we just need that marquee MLB in the Buoniconti/Offerdahl/Thomas mold.
Don't want to send DJ's thread on a tangent but how you feel about Misi. I like his motor. His development is huge. I thought we all thought he might end up in the middle.
I brought that up to the coach types here and they did not think it was a good idea. Personally I tend to think it would be, his skillset fits what a good MLB should do, the question is instincts. To me, what we are seeing IS "Dolphins Football". -4-3 defense -elite passrushing De -exciting Qb -game breaking Rb who really could do more in the passing game ala Tony Nathan
