More like cue the Andrew Hawkins Show.

To me the big keys to this game would be how well we're able to shut A.J. Green AND Andrew Hawkins down when they have them working off each other a little bit. Losing Marshall as our slot corner could make that a lot more difficult.

I've not really seen the Bengals much. What's their passing game like - are we mostly looking at quick drops and short passes?

If that's their game we could be in trouble since that would neutralise our pass rush to some extent.

I think AJ Green is second in the NFL in receiving right now. Dalton has been terrorizing defenses as of late. No Marshall really, really hurts us.

Personally I think the primary beneficiaries of this are Armon Binns and Andrew Hawkins, but Hawkins more so than Binns.

Not REALLY really worried about Stanford. More worried about the step up for Jimmy Wilson. Also a little concerned about the noise we hear about Nolan Carroll fighting some kind of Achilles injury.

tannehill on the injury report too for a thumb. I remember this happening in the game too he whacked it on an opposing players helmet after a throw. Knew he'd be hurt

Every loss the colts have benefit us tremendously, could be the difference between a bust and a probowl player.

    This is good news

Sorry, but I have no idea how Carroll is still playing in the NFL. I am not real high on Marshall, but he is far better than Carroll. I wouldn't be surprised if Dalton has his first 400 yard passing game against Miami's secondary.

WTF not? This is EXACTLY the sort of situation that some of us feared of when the Davis trade was announced. Ireland was stupid for trading him. Said it then, and I say it now.

Why? He wouldn't be playing this week anyways, and the weeks he has he has been unimpressive.

The running joke while me and my brother are watching the games on Sundays are always seeing the back of Nolan Carroll to the ball and the receiver ALL DAY LONG. One of us yells "Turn around!" He never seems to find the ball. Just watch how many times he has his back to the play

Just because he got injured in Indy, doesn't mean he would have in Miami. He's been improving every week in Indy, and when he was in Miami he was playing better than he has in Indy.

We worked out Alphonso Smith and Aaron Berry but both have since signed elsewhere.

IMO....Marshall is mediocre at best so far. He's been burnt many times this season and hasn't done anything to prove his worth. He's made a couple of plays but nothing great. I know VD is injured too but I would still take VD over what I've seen from Marshall any day. I think the Marshall signing was a good thing but not at the expense of loosing VD. He hasn't played very well up to this point. He needs to be more consistent and stay healthy.

He did not do well, if fielding the best possible roster THIS season was more important than 2013 and beyond.

Obviously it was a move for the future, and I can't say it's a bad one either.

So you are either fine with our roster being weaker this season or you are one who believes R.J. Stanford is the equal of Davis.

Marshall is nothing special, but compared to Carroll...

    Uhh, this could be ugly.

The number of CBs who know coyle's system well enough to come in and play on Sunday has to be limited.

Unless we sign a guy from the Bengals cuts.

Who is on the Bengals practice squad? Any CBs? If so, maybe worth signing this week then cutting.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, Marshall is a starter that has talent in a secondary that has been sub par so far outside of Smith and Jones.

But on the other hand, Marshall hasn't payed very well this season.

Time for the others to step up. This is their time now.

playing with no corner would not be much worse than playing with Davis at corner

It was evident the minute we traded Davis our roster was weakened...I don't understand your argument. If we received a 1st Rounder for Davone Bess it would weaken our roster as well, but does that mean we shouldn't make the best long term decision for our team??

  37. MrClean

    MrClean Inglourious Basterd Club Member

Would you have traded Bess for a 2nd rounder the week before opening day?

My argument is you don't weaken the roster for THIS season in hopes of what you could get for future seasons, unless you are willing to admit you stood no chance of making the playoffs this season anyway.

Yes. But that's a whole other issue.

I'm willing to sacrifice for our future, not like Vontea would've made us a playoff team. This team will be elite in 2 years.

Before the Vontae trade, it wasn't a given to me that this team had no chance to make the playoffs. Removing a top 25 player from the roster did nothing to improve whatever chances we do have, and instead lessened them.
