What a great trade by Ireland! This dude is a BUM. We anally violated the Colts. Mark my words, this guy is out of football in the next 2-3 years. His heart isn't in it. Colts CB Vontae Davis (knee) confirmed he's going to be out "a while." Davis is calling his left knee sprain a "freak thing" and he's limping around with a brace. Look for Cassius Vaughn to play right corner and Josh Gordy to slide in as the nickelback against the Dolphins in Week 9.
1) I don;t see how an injury is proof someone's heart isn't in it, much less that they are a bum. 2) Can we post this stuff in the forum about non-Dolphins players? It's just not relevant at this point, imo, despite it being a trade Ireland made. (I do agree that I'm not a big Vontae fan anymore though)
While I was quite a vocal proponent of the Vontae trade, and was the author of the hated "Nobody Missed Vontae Today" thread, to claim that the trade was good because the guy got injured is stupid.
We should be able to take advantage of this beaten up secondary then no? Sent from my XT875 using Tapatalk 2
Does this mean that Tannehill is going to be out of the league in 2-3 years because he was injured and missed most of the game against the Jets. Marshall has missed the past three games with a bad back. I guess he just doesn't have any heart for the game. Injuries happen and players miss games. It happens on every team and it doesn't mean these players don't have the heart for the game. Davis is no longer a member of the Dolphins. He now plays for the Colts. Why you are even concerned with how long he will play in the NFL is beyond me. I just wonder if you were saying this same thing about him when he was the Dolphins first round draft pick a few years ago.
There are times where trades are good for the player, change of scenery, fresh start, etc. This was not one of those trades for Vontae.
Start Hartline in your fantasy league. Heard even Robert Mathis is out for Indy+MMoore likely to start=long passes to Bline
That is true, he didn't recognize how good he had it, and he didn't respect how lucky he was when he was born.jmo. I think he has a good heart, so I'd like to see him dedicate himself to his craft, finish out his contract there in Indy, and come back to play for us with welcome arms.. Lb for lb, he's one if the most explosive players in the league.
He isn't showing me he has any heart. He is clearly in it for the paycheck. Guys like that don't last. I have money. Do you?
No we can talk about it. As long as you're open to the idea that all GMs make mistakes every off season. Not many recoup some value out of them as well as Ireland did on Marshall & Davis.
We all have money. Guys like him, with some sort of reputation also always gets the benefit of the doubt. He was just traded for a 2nd round pick. Someone in the league would keep giving him chances, and the Colts won't be cutting him anytime soon after giving up so much for him. You really think he will be 27 and out of the league? I'd bet anything on that.
Probably because this wasn't really an instance of the player trying to sulk his way out of town a la Peyton Hillis. Vontae was just being Vontae.
Sounds like we are playing the Colts at the right time, for us. I hope Tanny is healthy enough to play, the contest between Luck and Tannehill might get this game a lot more coverage across the country.
So by your faulty logic, if a player has enough heart he can play through any knee injury. Ever injure your knee? How'd the heart thing work in your case? Do you even know the severity of his knee injury? It's pretty easy for some dude sitting at a desk far across the country to pass judgement on someone else's knee injury, what with all the first hand medical reports of Davis that ya have access to. Why aren't ya ragging on Marshall about his back injury? They are usually much harder to prove than a knee injury is.
Injuries happen, it's a part of the game so I'm with you there. But it's getting harder and harder to fault Ireland for trading the guy. How many teams do u think would give a 2nd round pick for Vontae? How many Colts fans are screaming about his upside & potential, and praising the trade right now?
To make a different point............ I we had any of our previous coaches of late, Wanny, Sparano, etc....... We would come out against Indy still running the ball. I will be SHOCKED if we dont go heavy on passing this week with their injury situation over there, and OUR new COACHES................That can actually game plan.............and COACH.
Because he's not playing through what is apparently a severe knee injury? Okay, I'm going to try and assess the amount of cells by brain lost trying to wrap itself around that logic.
