Outside of Robert Mathis, who has 5 sacks, the Colts appear to be struggling getting to the QB. Jerry Hughes has 3, and Dwight Freeney has 1. They have 15 team sacks in 7 games, so 2.1 per game. I wonder if that's why Tannehill's doing a lot of rollouts in practice today; just to eliminate possible pressures he might face staying in the pocket.

I've seen slow improvement... Still some Wtf moments in pass block for sure. I thought Mathis was questionable?

Young men in great shape generally do...pretty amazing how a lot of pro athletes come back from bad bad injuries.

If Mathis can't go, the Colts are in trouble. He's the only guy for them generating any sort of consistent pressure.

The biggest thing is not having confusions in pass pro like we did last week. We can't afford for him to get nailed by an untouched blitzer again.

Sure is, I also think Tannehill is just a very tough dude..I think he would try to play if his sh$) was fallin off..he's just got that mindset, you can see he doesn't fear hits in the pocket..

Happy that's it's a part of his skillset that I have noticed.

They may not be able to sack him a lot, but don't think they won't be taking shots at that quad EVERY single opportunity they get - and they'll get plenty before or just after the throws the ball.

I don't see why they would do that. They wouldn't really get a competitive advantage from hurting him, Moore is very much comparable at this point.

It looks like he's well enough to play, that isn't the issue. The issue is if the coaching staff decides to be cautious with him and hold him out this week.

They went out on a limb putting him as starter in the first place, when a lot thought he should have been on the sidelines they threw him to the wolves......if he looks like he is playing like himself then throw him back to them. I agree with Stringer

That was a different situation. This is an injury. You don't "throw a guy to the wolves" if you're not certain of his health.

I love what Tannehill has brought to the table so far...let's not get this kid put in a bad spot...give him another week to heal properly...let's look at the big picture and down the road

Put them in their nickel and run on those ends. Freeney and Mathis cannot stop the run out of that kind of package. Use PA extensively and make the nickel wear out.

Yes, but as last week showed, it only takes one sack to knock a QB out of the game. If Tannehill is still favoring his injured leg, I would hope that he would be held out of the game. I just don't think it is worth the risk and Moore has shown that he is a very capable backup. With an additional week to get over his injury, Tannehill show be ready to play the remainder of the season.

Thats a silly thing to say considering i said only do it if he is playing like himself. A given.

i wouldn't recommend them playing him if hes hurting and not playing right....

Shoot, at this point in time, I'm more worried about other members of the O-line; Jets PFF grades be damned (hint, hint).

I think if there was uncertainty with this health, he wouldn't even be practicing. IMO its probably just a matter of how effective he can play.

He's not though. He's still favoring his leg. So either you're comfortable with him not being 100%, or you hold him out for precautionary reasons.

It's only Thursday, and I saw the practice video from yesterday. I see no reason why he won't be close to 100% in 3 full days.

Prudence would counsel sitting him and giving Moore all the 1st team snaps this week. Moore can handle the job. No need to put Tanny out there to risk further injury which, if it occurs, results in Moore being put in with less practice reps than he would have otherwise received.

Not to mention, even when fully healthy one play can take someone out. Furthermore, at this point of the season most no one who plays is actually at "100%".

I've been reading on twitter that Tannehill didn't get ALL the first team reps. That Moore got more than he has been previous to the injury.
