To me, that would mean if the game were today then Tanny isn't ready to go. I don't think there is any chance they put him out there if he has any range of motion/mobility questions.

You were suppose to keep that to yourself. You rained on our parade! I still believe he 's playing Sunday no matter what. He might even break Cam Newton's record instead of Marino's record this time!

Sit em down. 2 weeks is the remedy. Don't be a hero. This is precisely why Moore is here. Moore is more than capable. Sit the future down.

This. No structural damage is the key.

There's really no more a risk playing him with his current injury rather than no injury at all. It's not like he has a partial tear to a ligament that could be torn even further by playing.

There's going to come a time that there will be a drop-off between RT and our backup (luckily there isn't one yet), and we're going to need him to play through things like this. Might as well start now.

Some of y'all ate acting like its a serious injury lol it's a bruise... If he was a receiving and judging by Tannehills character and what I saw from being at the game and watching him on the sidelines he would of went back in but because he's our future franchise qb they are being overprotective

If you trust Philbin, which most of us do at this point, then just leave it up to him, he's not gonna jeapardize anything .

I trust Philbin to make the correct decision. Besides whether he plays or not, this Sunday is all about the running game. Colts don't have the best Run D, and with Moore in or Tannehill playing not 100%, we need to step it up in the running game.

If our Defense plays well and the running game works, we win.

Martin takes a lot of crap from fans on plays that should be blamed on Jerry. Like the play Tannehill got hurt on. Jerry didn't block the right guy and that left Martin with 2 guys.

my fantasy football update claims that Jason Cole is reporting the following. I haven't been able to find the actual story by Cole, so take it for what it's worth

The treatment for his injury is regular physical therapy sessions and he has not had much time for that .IMO the 50-50 announcement is to confuse the Colts

I hope we don't rush him back just for the sake of getting him out there and risk further injury. I'm sure Philbin wouldn't do that, however as well as Matt Moore seemed to look in his duty last week, I'd be comfortable with him playing, if Ryan isn't closer to 100% than 50-50

Kind of like the crap Tebow took for the blocked punt. Tebow had 2 guys coming at him. He took the earlier guy that was a head on route (correct choice). If you watch the play again, you can see another jest player got to the block of Wilson too late and was chasing him from behind.

Has anyone addressed why you would need to drain fluid with no structural damage? I'm not calling shenanigans; I'm just interested in the physiology.

According to my Internal Medicine Book (Harrison's)

Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa, which is a thin-walled sac lined with synovial tissue. The function of the bursa is to facilitate movement of tendons and muscles over bony prominences. Excessive frictional forces from overuse, trauma, systemic disease (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, gout), or infection may cause bursitis.

Prepatellar bursitis (housemaid's knee) occurs in the bursa situated between the patella and overlying skin and is caused by kneeling on hard surfaces.

Treatment of bursitis consists of prevention of the aggravating situation, rest of the involved part, administration of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) where appropriate for an individual patient, or local glucocorticoid injection.

The drainage is just to clear some of the liquid that has accumulated and speed recovery time. Hope that helps :)

IMO since there's no structural damage there's probably no risk of further injury. If he took a hit on the same spot that could delay full recovery, but that's the only concern from the medical side. From the football side, I see the question as whether RT is mobile enough to play his game. RT really doesn't run much, but he does move around in the pocket. He does that far better than Moore when he's healthy. RT is also much better at getting the ball out on time and accurately in Miami's quick passing game. This Miami's preferred style of play, so if he can move better than Moore, RT gives us a better chance to play our game. I think that as long as our OL can protect against an Indy pass rush that has underwhelmed this season that we should win with either QB, but I see our margin for error as better with RT.

More than that, they are risking 15 yard penalty's if they are taking shots at is quad. Any time you go after a QB's knee's, you risk a flag being thrown and the quad is right above the knee. Would be hard to tell the difference between trying to take a knee out vs. a hit on the quad.

Seems that he is listed as questionable on the injury report. Armando is quoting team sources as being cautiously optimistic that he will play. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2012/11/tannehill-listed-as-questionable-status-cautiously-optimistic.html
