Me too, and I hate it because there are some really nice fleeces that I want but I don't want to gamble. Though I did get a Tannehill jersey and a new hat because I just had to for his rookie year. I did just order a few hats with the throwback logo because regardless of what we do they will still be relevant as a throwback look.
Ehh, honestly if you look at a color wheel it could be called either or. Obviously we call it aqua because we know it as that officially, but it's not like calling it teal is some great exaggeration. In fact, everyone I know that doesn't know the background of the team calls it teal. I still correct them though and say it's aqua.
Those black and gray jerseys are just a marketing gimmick to try and get fans to buy more team apparel.
Living outside of Florida and watching games from a bar, I wouldn't mind wearing a black Tannehill jersey from time to time, but I wouldn't want to see them on the field nor scattered among the stands.
It was a particularly steamy afternoon, when I spotted the portrait in the lobby. It was the first time my lover and I visited the Welshley Arms. Screams of our lovemaking reverberated off the roof...
No way. All white reminds me of 1972. The Horrible Hankies need to return too, especially when the 1972 team is around. How many of you guys remember the white hankies ?
Technically, yes. But the shading of the color has gone through a few permutations over the years and is currently closer to Teal now than it is Aqua. As for the jerseys, the black one is awful. The gray one is ok, but what I find interesting about the gray jerseys is that they use a different, more modern numerical font (see also Griese and Pouncey jerseys).
Mike Dee has been indicating recently that there's a strong chance of it happening, which leads me to believe that they've already got numerous logo and jersey prototypes in the pipeline and will probably make a final decision soon if they haven't already. I'm pretty sure they won't mess with the primary colors (aqua and coral) much if at all. I also wouldn't be shocked if the navy blue was replaced by either black or gray/silver. I'm also not expecting a major makeover. There have been indications that the logo will remain relatively the same but with a more modern feel. I'd expect the jerseys to follow suit.
weve tried the white hankie thing at SUn life before, doesn't work..fans don't get to their seats on time, fans sit on their *** too much, not engaged into the game.looks dumb.
I would just love to go back to a simple uniform with a more classic look. Maybe lighten up the aqua like it was in the 70's and add grey facemasks to the helmets. Hopefully those 2 jerseys are just gimmicks.
Teal is a shade of green and aqua a shade of blue, and you are right there have been times, such as the mid 80s into the mid 90s especially, IMO, where the shade was far to much toward green to be aqua. It seems to me throughout the past decade though, the color has gone back to more of a true aqua, but still not to the degree it was from '66 through the '70s. This is true aqua. Frank Emanuel on the cover of SI back around 1967. If it were up to me, we'd go back to that uniform.
Agreed. If you remember Mike Dee's interview a few weeks back...I think it may have been during they bye week, or the week before that...he mentioned that the Dolphins had filed a proposed change to the league office before the deadline, and said something to the effect of (paraphrasing here), "the fans will really like it, we appreciate their input". My guess would be that, at least based on the sample size of this board, that most fans would like to go back to the uniforms of the '70s; the glory days. Among other NFL teams, that's seemingly the trend with the 49ers, Giants, Jets, Colts, and Bills either going back to their earlier uniforms or incorporating specific element (Bills). Of course, Seattle bucked that trend this year. Hopefully Miami realizes it's better off with the classic look. I wonder if wearing the "all whites" on the road, a traditional look, is a bit of a precursor to that. Except for under Saban, who emphasized tradition (one of the few things I think he "got" while with Miami), I don't remember Miami wearing the "all whites" on the road since the logo change in 1997; it's just been at home.
If it were these from the Thanksgiving Game, I'd be all for it. I think those are the road uniforms that go with the picture MrClean posted.
Sheeeee$, give me that, give me that Aqua on that cover, and I'd be stoked as hell.. Never happen, folks upstairs aren't that smart when it comes to what we want.
The hell if it won't work! Put an excellent product on the field (one that is high scoring) and people in Miami will be waving those hankies for days!
Can't remember the exact date, I think it was either during the bye week or the week before the bye, but he interviewed with Jesse Agler and said that they submitted a proposal for a new logo/uniforms, and that the fans (paraphrasing here), "...would like it, we appreciate their input." something to that effect. Purely a guess on my part, but given the small sample size of fans here, and the recent uniform changes of the 49ers, Giants, Jets, Colts, and Bills all going back to their past uniforms or incorporating parts of it, like Buffalo, that I think it's a fairly safe assumption that Miami's uniforms would follow suit. Of course, the Seahawks completely bucked that trend this year. That being said though, Seattle doesn't have the history and tradition of Miami. I've not seen any follow-up from that or if the changes were approved, merely passing along what Dee said. Maybe check the Finsiders audio archives, maybe it's on there. This nugget was buried in an interview about something else, so I doubt you'll see a headline about it.
Dee said that it would most likely happen and that the colors would stay the same. The logo would get a minor change. BUT he said that they have not submitted the paperwork yet and if the changes were going to be made for next season, they had until a certain date to do so. That was right around the bye week.
Thinking that a crowd at sunlife with hankies is comparable to one at the Ob is two totally different atmospheres.
So were one of the suprise teams in the league, very promising rookie Qb, and were fighting for a playoff berth...wonder what ts gonna be like 2 maro at the stadium, hope we don't pull out the hankies then..lol.
