    OFFENSE:

Trent Green - Should retire for his own good. Maybe be our QB coach.

Cleo Lemon - I would keep him as a backup, depending on how much he asks for. However, if a team offers a second day pick for him, I would trade him(similar to how the Chiefs handled Green) in a sign and trade scenario.

David Martin - Cut him. Id rather have Peele start or look for a starting TE in FA. Draft a TE as well in the mid rounds.

Jesse Chatman - Keeper. A decent backup who has a working relationship with Cam.

Ricky - If he stays clean, we should keep him. No way a team offers anything for him, and if so, it would be no better than a 5th. When healthy he's worth more than that.

Marty Booker - Cut him. Although he has good games, his inconsistency kills us more than he helps. He's lost a few steps and isn't considered part of the rebuilding process. Trade if possible.

Justin Peele - Keeper. Solid backup, could be starter depending on who else we bring in. I would like him to be our Dallas Clark.

Jay Feeley - No brainer, keep him. He however needs to come through in the clutch and improve kickoffs.

    DEFENSE:

Jason Taylor - A big question mark. A slow start early on led to a(an arguably) Pro Bowl year with 10 sacks and a few forced fumbles. Its quite clear though that Jason plays best when he's moved around, otherwise he gets double teamed and his production begins to slip. In addition, he's been the most vocal about the team's struggles and no one knows if he'll be around. We have three options: Trade him for a first day pick. We dont know what pick or picks we could be offered. Id trade him if he truly does not want to be a part of the team's future. If no one wants to trade for him(i dont see why not), then we could cut him, and take a cap hit. This is not likely to happen. Otherwise, keep him, as he was our lone Pro Bowler and is a leader in the locker room(some say cancer, but with the team's struggles I cant blame him for being frustrated).

Keith Traylor - Should retire. Other than pride and love for the game, theres nothing for him to play for at this point. We're not going to the SB anytime soon, and his production took a serious slide this year, and next year he could only get worse. If he retires, maybe we can retain him as a coach on the defense.

Zach Thomas - I dont want to see one of my all-time favorite players retire, especially without a ring. It would kill me to see him in another uniform. But this isnt about how the fans feel. If Zach wants to come back and risk his health, then I hope this team is ready to compete for Zach(and Jason's) sake and not let next year go to waste. We saw how the D was hurting without him and his leadership. If Zach wants to come back, we should let him. He is worth more to this team than any pick.

Joey Porter - Let's face it, we're stuck with him for awhile. If we cut him, we take a huge cap hit. So its up to Porter and whoever the DC is next year to find ways to improve his production. JP needs to play on par with his salary. He did pick it up later on this year, but he needs to play lights out every Sunday.

Will Allen - Yes, the secondary struggled. But Will Allen was a lone bright spot. A solid coverage guy with bad hands. Hopefully we can improve the pass rush and get some better help in the secondary to help him out.

Michael Lehan - A solid nickle, but I dont think he's a starter.

Ronaldo Hill - When healthy, he's a solid strong safety and can play CB. Keep him for depth sake.

Yeremiah Bell - Same thing with Bell, as long as he's healthy he's one of our better defenders.

On a side note, the secondary still needs more depth. I would cut Tillman as he's useless. J. Allen should get the start next year at FS. Maybe move Hill to the #2 CB spot and draft a CB to eventually be a starter. We definately need to being in a DE or two to improve the pass rush.

How many kickoffs has Jay Feeley kicked out of bounds this year? More than just the crucial one where we almost lost our lone victory. He is an above-average field goal kicker, and about the worst kicker I have ever seen on kickoffs. I rather have Olindo Mare who kicked it out of the endzone every time and missed some FGs than this moron who cant kick a ball in between the sidelines off of a tee. Maybe not Olindo, but Jay Feeley is still part of our garbage special teams who should be replaced

EDIT: 3 kickoffs out of bounds. Pathetic

I disagree... Those out of bounds kicks where kicks directed by Armstrong... He was trying to keep the ball away from their returner, can't remember his name at the moment... IT was even verified by CAM in the post game conference...

Feeley is a solid starter and I feel that he will be a great asset to this team down the road...

    I forgot to add OL:

Chris Liwenski - A backup but should not start on the OL. Gave up too many sacks this year. Struggles against faster DL.

Shelton. Too inconsistent to be our starter RT.

I would look towards FA to replace these guys.

Hey Hugo, glad to see you found us again! I agree, other than Peelle and Feely, I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the vets you listed around.

Thats one out of 3...Him kicking it out of bounds against the Ravens was not to avoid any returner it was just a pathetic freaken kick that should have costed us the game. And if he was any good at kick offs he would kick it away from Figures and NOT kick it out of bounds. You know that is about his whole job, put the ball through the uprights and kick a decent freaken kickoff. Teams have been avoiding returners like Hester and Washington from NY, which can be done with a squib or..kicking in the other direction...Our whole special teams unit is Mickey Mouse, the only impressive person is ted ginn who doesnt get a chance to take one back because of such poor blocking. Send Armstrong packing, and he can take Feeley with him.

I agree with letting Armstrong go, but you need a kicker like Feeley. We could do a lot worse.

    Damn it!

Liwenski will likely be jettisoned. I think that the jury is still out on Shelton, but I think that we could upgrade at both guard spots.

i'd be pleased if we got rid of every player with more than 4 years in on the offensive line, then turned around and got real vets - guys who can actually PLAY!!! and drafted at least 2-3 linemen on the first day; another couple on day two.

other than satele and carey, there's not much to work with there, assuming you are working toward excellence. and don't tell me hadnot, he's a journeyman - a backup - at best. too many years waiting for this bum to stop making stupid, STUPID mistakes and whiffing on blocks to kee investing in him as a starter.

and it would please me to no end to see houck drag shelton out onto the practice field, make him kneel and shoot him in the side of the head like in that famous poster of a real execution in vietnam.

ok, not really, but now you understand how i really feel about shelton.

Can Fields kick off? He has a big leg, but can he kick it straight and deep into the endzone? (use Feeley for Onside kicks????)

P.S. You lose credibility with that mindset....hahahaha
