It's like a switch this game of football, one second it's off, the next it's on, and man did he turn it on, we've all wanted him to engage his inner athleticism, to engage into the game, to start making some of his own plays, and he did so, showing some serious speed and simply having the confidence to move in the pocket, stepping up like that, taking off, it made a difference..not sure about the stats, but that second half was sweet, ball did'nt hit the ground very much. Russell Wilson showed a lot of GMs that they made a mistake, I would say steal of the draft..talk about playmaking ability, that's always gonna be there, as well as with andrew Luck, so were gonna have to get some athletes on our defense..He was their biggest weapon, and we couldn't stop it, a rookie, beating a professional defense, I thought I saw early on R jones was gonna be spying on Wilson, and I think that's what we need to do moving forward, if the Qb is going to establish himself that much as a weapon, then put your best tackling athlete on their best weapon..RJ was not used correctly..This kind of qb'ing has been beating us for four games, time for a spy. I think as a whole, special teams has to be conscious that there will be a return, I don't think they were, I know thiggy didn't get one chance...stupid rule. Reggie had some nice runs, but Daniel Thomas was the man today, the difference in exploding thru a hole is completely evident now, I know I wouldn't want to design a running game around a back that cannot explode thru a whole at full speed or make decisions at full speed, we saw for the first time, a little of that zone stuff working, stretching out, and Thomas popped it several times..the dudes a total spaz in the open field, lol, he puts a tremendous amount of pressure on his knees in his jump cuts..Like the way he's running with the ball with protection, and I like the way he's making decisions at 100 Mph.. After giving up an average spin move sack, Jake settled down, and started getting back to timing the snap beautifully, he was ahead on a dozen different snaps, that was good to see, and his run blocking was good. I did not notice Jon Martin today..,,,yayyyy. Gosh does Tannehill need Tyler Eifert. Find a new dance Odrick. Karlos is playing with a torn bicep, wears a sling of sorts under the uni.. That was a tough game for the secondary..the ability to get plays extended on them hurts any secondary. We need to pick college players this year that bring an identity to the team, it's gonna take special players to win here, and we must look closely at the value players like Manti t'eo, Shane Skov, B Werner, Jarvis jones, Chase Thomas, Step Taylor bring to the table, and stay away from players that have red flags, jmo, for a lot of reasons. We really did some nice run blocking on the perimeter today. man that speed and agility Ryan showed on the first scramble run was cool as sh&$, you could tell his mind was made up that he was gonna run from the get, maybe watching the rookie on the other side got him thinking...cool by me as lonfpg as you don't forget to use it. Ummm, Bess torched the best secondary in the game..I love that guy and would never get rid of him or trade him, he'll always have a spot here. We're gonna be real good there with him and Hart, and Jennings, and Bailey/Austin/Woods/Williams or whoever your favorite rookie preference is, there's a plethora of talent for the pickings. Greg Jennings is 29 years old Colts won today...pissass. I love the philosophy of trading down in the first round, I think it puts more pressure on the evaluator, and if the evaluators eye is very good, then you can build quicker, more balanced.. That was a sweet catch by Clay for the six, sweet pass as well, stepped up nicely. Didnt see Matthews once today, had no volume, did he get some reps? Couldn't get one turnover..man, didnt we go to the Charles Tillman school of learning how to punch the ball out like a ninja warrior. Our Dline played the run very well today holding Lynch unde 50 yards with 19 carries,Solai was punkin fools, But their inability to close on a playmaking Qb is hurting us..maybe let jones come down in the box and play some backer, just get his damn speed and open field tackling ability closer to the line. Would love some breakdowns of how good Tannehill was in the 2 nd half, it's kind of a blur at this point.? What was Shula doing out there on the cart? Well, our defense has been getting killed for four weeks dealing with playmaking qbs, lets see what we can do with the best pocket passer in the game. Please support your team.
-Don Shula can take a piss on the 50 yd line from his cart in front of the camera..no one ****s with the Don Clay..showed a bit of what he can do Reggie B is what he is, frustrating, then you see the mostly self created Td run and realize you take the good with the bad Qb play, from a Rook, is a bit like a Harley, when it works then the world is awesome, when it has issues, life sucks
Give me either Manti t'eo or B Werner with our first pick and I'll be a happy camper. Preferably T'eo then Werner.
DJ, good observation on Tanny running the ball.. I thought the same thing. Watching Wilson make plays probably brought out something in Tannehill. Agree about Wilson. He is improving weekly and has a cannon. Some of the throws he made while under pressure were highlight reel throws. That kid is the real deal.
I loved what I saw from the D-train, really ran with some determination. Saw the hole and took what he could get, solid day for him. That's what we needed to see from RT, moving the pocket and making plays with his feet, that throw to clay on the TD was amazing. Then the laser on the game winning drive, awesome.
I guess I'm the only one still not overly impressed with Wilson. He made maybe 3 to 5 above average throws. The rest of his game is all PA and let it rip deep or check down to a pass at the LOS. Tannehill really did step up second half.
It's basically the same story with Long as most of the games this season outside of the Colts. He has an awful play that everyone can't help but notice and is fine for the rest of the game. The bizarre thing is it's never consistent, nor consistent with any sort of cause besides "what the ****"? Last week he drops his head and doesn't plant his feet and gets destroyed by Shawne Merriman when pulling. Or he misses an assignment trade-off. Or he blows a routine cut-block. I'm claiming getting married ruined him.
He's incredibly poised for a rookie, and he makes good decisions. Today he wasn't throwing darts but in general he sure has.
I noticed a little anxiousness while he dropped in his body movements, he's moving his hands more wildly before engaging.. He looked like he settled down nicely to me.
I don't think there's a lot of justification for the idea he's playing "bad". Not up to his standards, or the standards of his contract? Sure.
We're gonna have to make a decision here and Reggie's running style is not how I want to build the run game in this offense, the speed for which Thomas pressed the hole was today..I'd like to give Thomas a serious workload for the next month..give him twenty carries, play Bush like Sproiles. Maybe this kid Thomas will keep the nature for which he's running with..downhill and angry..
Seahawks D was gassed and that kick return for a TD ruined their chance to recover. Deej, your rhetoric is shameless...quite daft actually. . . . Don't listen to him, Deej... If I had a hundred of you I could finally topple Argentina. . . . . GO PHINS!
